  1. With Firefox 87 Mozilla introduces SmartBlock: https://blog.mozilla.org/security/2021/03/23/introducing-smartblock/ MSFN members using Noscript 5.X in our pre - Quantum browsers will have this functionality (Script Surrogates) more fully: https://hackademix.net/2021/03/23/welcome-smartblock-script-surrogates-for-the-masses/ Giorgio Maone in fact defines the new functionality of Firefox: UBO Legacy also allows you to have this functionality in the uBlock filters - Unbreak list. MSFN Members who do not want to use Noscript and cannot use UBO Legacy, for example because they use NM27, please make sure you have the list described above: https://raw.githubusercontent.com/uBlockOrigin/uAssets/master/filters/unbreak.txt Not always more modern is synonymous with better.
  2. My 2 errors during the installation of BurnAware: Carrier.exe: I am administrator: After 2 OK the installation continues without problems. No malwares. I ran an on-demand scan with Hitman Pro. No temporary files to clean. I also precautionarily ran: sfc /scannow no problems or requests to insert the Windows CD. Is it possible to assume that the installer needs some softwares (Net framework,Visual C++.....) that are not installed in my pc? Or that the installer is incompatible with my FAT32 FS? P.S.I did not try to repeat the installation today. My region goes into the red zone (for Covid-19) on Monday, after my city has been in the red zone all this week. I need to get a lot of things in place to close out my work until at least April 6.
  3. Thank you for your test. Probably in my case there is "something" interfering with the installation process.
  4. BurnAware Free 14.2 Released (March 25, 2021): https://www.burnaware.com/download.html I tried the installation. I get an error, but it doesn't seem to affect the installation. Is there any MSFN member who can confirm? TH. P.S. My experience with this kind of software is rather poor.....
  5. If you don't need to, it's not important to update. When it is necessary, as in my case for PsExec: https://www.bleepingcomputer.com/news/security/microsoft-fixes-windows-psexec-privilege-elevation-vulnerability/ it is better to install the latest version if it is working in our OS.
  6. All tools would work with Windows Vista OS minimum. But instead PsExec also runs on Windows XP.
  7. True. PsExec works. For example, Process Explorer, although it seems to work, does not report correct values. The last version that certainly works with Windows XP is 16.12. Sigcheck build 2.80 does not work. The build I use is 2.30.
  8. You can also check your Telemetry Data in browser. Open browser and in address bar type: about:telemetry: NM28 (latest build):
  9. Sysinternals Suite Updated: March 23, 2021: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/sysinternals/downloads/sysinternals-suite I use PsExec.
  10. New build 1.1.8 wc-Polyfill (Mar 22, 2021 - Just Off): https://github.com/JustOff/github-wc-polyfill/releases
  11. @PROBLEMCHYLD Unfortunately it is not applicable to the UBO Legacy version: https://github.com/gorhill/uBlock-for-firefox-legacy/issues/283 The list you entered is out of date. You can delete Dandelion Sprout's Bad top-level domains. This is the updated list: ! The Most Abused Top Level Domains ! https://www.spamhaus.org/statistics/tlds/ ||rest^$all ||gq^$all ||work^$all ||tk^$all ||ml^$all ||viajes^$all ||casa^$all ||london^$all ||cf^$all ||fail^$all ||surf^$all ||exposed^$all ||fit^$all ||date^$all ||golf^$all ||email^$all ||top^$all ||cam^$all ||ga^$all
  12. @VistaLover New version of Sumo.zip 5.12.9.481: https://kcsoftwares.com/?download The developer seems to have restored the Open SSL Library version "i" compared to the "j" of the previous version. P.S. The developer states that they have never used the Open SSL Library "j": https://www.wilderssecurity.com/threads/sumo-keep-your-software-up-to-date.314623/page-161#post-2996297
  13. @Rod Steel Thank you for contacting support and reporting the problem. No I didn't know that Korean language page. Unfortunately I can't help you with the problem you reported, but only recommend a newer version. The version prior to the malfunctioning version is 210209.
  14. Installation of the new version of PotPlayer 210318 (March 18, 2021) crashes with an error pop-up. If any MSFN member wants to perform a test installation please take the necessary precautions.
  15. The replacement of the 2 libraries also allows the use of the sumo.zip version: https://www.kcsoftwares.com/?download Every now and then the degraded mode appears. And also the wait button for checking the softwares in the list. But they are solvable problems with a little patience. You are great !!
  16. Only the portableapps version remains. Saluti da Italia.
  17. @VistaLover The trick does not deceive sumo.exe:
  18. Sumo (KC Software) in zip format also seems to be no longer compatible with Windows XP: Also the exe version is no longer compatible: Strangely enough, the latest portable version still seems to work: https://portableapps.com/apps/utilities/sumo-portable Instead, the latest portable version still seems to work. No errors, even if the verification of the present softwares in the list may have to be started several times. I have no idea if because of the degraded mode: But I don't have any block in the HOSTS file or in the firewall. P.S. It seems that an exception in the firewall for sumo.exe allows for easier control.
  19. I tried to calculate the percentage of CNAME trackers blocking done by my lists in UBO Legacy. If the mathematical formula I used is correct: ((3215 -294)/3215)*100 = 90.86 % But I may have been wrong. Any MSFN member is free to correct my possible mistake.
  20. https://github.com/easylist/easylist/blob/master/easyprivacy/easyprivacy_specific_cname.txt The CNAME list is now not included in the AdGuard Tracking Protection list. AdGuard Tracking Protection added the CNAME list from line 6189.
  21. Interesting article of some days ago: https://adguard.com/en/blog/cname-tracking.html UBO on Mozilla Firefox, but not UBO Legacy with New Moon, because only UBO >= version 1.25.0 has this feature. I therefore recommend that MSFN members enable this list in their UBO Legacy. Although it appears that Easy Privacy has recently included the same ( probably) CNAME list. Another way to get CNAME protection is to use AdGuard DNS. P.S. The ηMatrix extension also has a CNAME protection feature. But its reliability is to be proved
  22. Also try Opera GX: https://www.opera.com/gx My view of the Opera website: (I will never use Opera 36 with Windows XP). Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; Win64; x64) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/89.0.3987.132 Safari/537.36
  23. It is necessary to insert, at least for my NM28, a general.useragent.override.opera.com rule because the website is not displayed properly.
  24. I updated my cleaning rules for my New Moon 28 browser to more modern terminology:
