  1. Because you don't need a browser extension, moreover outdated,to block SW. A simple rule in uBlock Origin is enough: ||$csp=worker-src 'none',domain=~whitelistthisdomain.com But the biggest problem is understanding when a malfunctioning website needs Service Workers. It is difficult especially if you have subjected the browser to considerable customization.
  2. In Chrome they tell me that ECH activation works. So you don't enter the command line parameter in the correct way. P.S. Or you have not enabled the necessary flags.
  3. More test to verify ECH: https://tls-ech.dev/ If it works in Edge,it also works in Chrome.
  4. I would prefer an updated extension that prevents bookmarks/history/folders from being added to my browser:
  5. Problems for uBlock Origin in the CWS: https://github.com/gorhill/uBlock/releases/tag/1.48.4 UBO in my Edge (Microsoft Store) is already updated to the latest version 1.48.4: I also report that at the Chrome Extensions Detection test: https://browserleaks.com/chrome I have no detection of extensions. P.S. I have no idea if uBlock Origin can be installed in Chromium-based browsers (not Edge) from the Microsoft Store. But personally with respect to Gorhill's advice (switch browser) I would recommend forum members to install the latest version of UBO from Github.
  6. What does it have to do with forgiving you? I replied to you 2 times and I point out to my first reply you even quoted me. Whatever. I also point out to you that I answered your question in full. You, on the other hand, did not write to me that you did what I had graciously told you to do. Not that you have to do it,but at least some education.......
  7. One extension against web fingerprinting. Try disabling all same-functionality extensions. One extension (I recommend uBlock origin) against ads/trackers.
  8. https://www.ghacks.net/2023/03/28/firefox-to-support-windows-7-and-8-systems-well-into-2024-at-least/
  9. The browser is Edge. The only extension against fingerprinting is JShelter settings to default. You probably have some browser command-line or extension that prevents JShelter from doing a good job.
  10. A very good Browserleaks test should be so even in the presence of the detectable extensions installed: The ECH test should look like this: Cover You Track: P.S. This my d3ward test without adblocker: Let's assume that you have to disable even momentarily the adblocker in a problematic website.....what do you do you give up blocking trackers,CNAME trackers.......
  11. Not causally targeted, but I was too inexperienced then. No. It would be better to use a protective DNS. Better configure the browser + adblocker. If you want to try: https://phishtank.org/phish_search.php?valid=y&active=y&Search=Search Uses a finite-length link. Example: JShelter shields you from web Fingerprinting.
  12. With too many extensions you might get the opposite effect. Check: https://browserleaks.com/chrome JShelter which has recently been updated (March 24, 2023): https://jshelter.org/versions/ since its developers got new funds is preferable to use only in chromium-based browsers (except Brave) than other similar but too long outdated extensions. Forget CSS Exfil Protection. If you can get more privacy without using extensions, this is preferable: https://apps.armin.dev/ping-spotter/ The Ping test above can also be passed in chromium-based browsers without extensions with a simple command line parameter. Another important test to pass is this: https://defo.ie/ech-check.php and: https://fmarier.github.io/brave-testing/query-filter.html (cross-site test) if it is not passed, the adblocker configuration should be improved. https://coveryourtracks.eff.org/ https://d3ward.github.io/toolz/adblock.html
  13. Breaching privacy and thus also web fingerprinting could also be for the purpose of testing the vulnerabilities of your system and browsers to potential attacks. Targeted phishing attacks are among them.
  14. Test: https://d3ward.github.io/toolz/adblock.html UBO Lite: Adguard MV3:
  15. A huge difference would exist if only you are immortal and other mortals. It would be a sad life because you would see loved ones around you grow old and die. If on the other hand everyone were immortal it would probably be different, certainly less sad.
  16. It is not often that simple. For example in my daughter's pc I had chosen Xubuntu LTS not only because only that distro could be fast with 10+ years old hardware but it was the only lightweight distro (that at the time of installation) that could recognize her printer. However from my point of view the only satisfaction I have with all Linux distros is to make a setting that increases the privacy/security of the browser. Subsequent pc management is repetitive and tedious starting with OS + softwares updates.
  17. Yes you should try again without dual boot.
  18. Linux is boring (for me) to use compared to Windows. And it encounters more problems to solve than Windows operating systems. But at the age I will be in 2025 I will probably get used to it.
  19. https://easylinuxtipsproject.blogspot.com/p/speed-mint.html I hope you use,Firefox in Linux: https://github.com/yokoffing/BetterFox
  20. My daughter's Linux pc died recently. She bought an all in one pc (very nice with wireless keyboard and mouse) with Windows 11. I don't like Windows 11. And probably Windows 10 will be the last Windows version I will use. I don't love Linux either but after the release of Windows 11 it seems like the lesser evil. So in 2025,Linux, will become my only OS (I don't even like dual boot).
  21. I understand your state of mind. I had the same "problems" when I abandoned Noscript (which works less well in Chrome than in Firefox): The same can be said of UBO, which works better in Firefox: https://github.com/gorhill/uBlock/wiki/uBlock-Origin-works-best-on-Firefox I don't like to use outdated extensions with known open issues: https://github.com/uBlockOrigin/uMatrix-issues/issues the unknown ones could be many more and more serious for both privacy and security.
  22. The times web page is an excellent example of profi cient use of Hard Mode. In the test below I used AdGuard MV3 in Hard Mode + uBO Lite (only to block URL's tracking parameter). The browser blocks 9 trackers + third-party cookies. Adguard MV3 another 11 blocks. Any network requests that may come through are blocked at DNS level. I am doubly calm and already ready for the MV3 revolution.
