for hard drives get the 640gb WD drives. get 2x2gb of muskin ascent 8500 if you really want nvidia then go with the gts, otherwise get a 4870 why do you want an x48? do you plan on going SLI? get a P45 instead, such as the P5Q Deluxe. you dont need that big of a psu, get the corair 620 or 650 if you want to OC then get a TRUE

what do you mean by "will you" ? right now? of course we all will eventually unless you dont plan on upgrading again until ddr4 is out.. and all of those features are important. having 4gb of high speed low latency ram is all important for me.. i highly suggest to get more than 2GB of ram with vista..

in my opinion this question is stupid. ati has that fastest card out, the 4870X2, and its 4870 and 4850 are the best cards for price/performance. you need to specify what you mean by best? what price range?

hopefully the requirements are ALOT higher than San Andreas. San Andreas actually had really low requirements and i was getting insane FPS even with the 10x distance mod on. it would be nice if GTA IV could have some nice graphics for PC.

well it's a great card so you should go for it. the drivers are pretty good for it as well. just make sure to get the PCIe version and not the PCI.

i built a hackintosh for someone just for that reason. apple computer seems to be 2x or more overpriced than they should be. but hey, at least their OS is way cheaper then vista isnt that whats really important? ripping off our customs and bad mouthing microsoft... now i dont have anything against OS X, i actually like it, but these fanboys just kill me, and if i even bought an apple computer i would have to be out of my mind.

by ClearQAM do you mean the digital? i only have analog cable so i have not been able to test it out yet. but that's another reason i got this card, so that i will be ready for when everything changes over. i don't have nero vision but what exactly does that have to do with a tv tuner?

i went for the ati 650 pro pci-e and it has been great so far, you should look at it. im not sure if it has all of the features that you want though.

well just as you said, windows still thinks your in 2.0 what OS are you using? go through the control panel then to sound and configure your speakers. btw, playing that movie on my klipsch promedia ultra 5.1 was unbelievable, especially the whole beach scene.

eh, that computer sucks get an x48 and 4 x 4870X2 2GB and get 8 128GB SSDs on a nice RAID controller also you could go alot better for cooling.. 4 full cover blocks for the 4870X2s, that should be at least $150 per block, cpu block, mobo blocks, a bunch of PA120.3s, a couple of D5s, this will have to be multi-loop, maybe 3 loops. so the cooling would easily be over 1000 MM Ascension case oh, and why those crappy speakers?

well there is no reason why the official drivers would not work. perhaps use a driver cleaner then install the latest drivers? you can try unofficial drivers if you want to..

and the A31 is working now. i guess it was due to the insane condensation these past few days.

well you could dual boot for now so that you wont have to reinstall sp3, but thats all up to you. go into the device manager and see if it is giving you any errors on the status of the video card.

the R51 is working now..

this sounds very much like it is a driver problem. i get these types of issues when i first install my OS and there is no video driver installed. i dont see why SP3 would cripple the driver though.
