    Well I reformatted, reinstalled all my software exactly like before and its been a few weeks. Boot up is 47 seconds and all my tray programs load in 5 seconds vs 25 seconds before. My advice, if your going to run this boot optimization make sure you have a good backup handy, you'll eventually need it.

    Well the only fix right now is to completely reformat. My readyboot is totally broken and there is no fix. I'm not happy.

    I figured it out by doing a clean startup and adding startup items one by one. Its catalyst control center and my custom gamma and flat panel settings. I'm booting at 61 seconds without CCC loading and thats acceptable for a spinner and a two year old install. The new laptop boots in 47 seconds. I'm still getting error in event viewer/ boot diagnostics ID 100 but at least no critical errors. I can live with that till my Nvidia card gets here, I'm through with ATI drivers. Thanks for all the help.

    I appreciate your help but something doesn't make sense. My system we are working on: AMD Phenom II X4 970 Black Edition 8 gig ram WD 500G Caviar HD5770 W7 Pro 64 My Laptop Intel i5 337U 1.8G 6G ram 750G 5400rpm drive Intel HD Graphics 4000 W7 Pro 64 My laptop has the exact same software configuration at startup(AV, win firewall control, all cpu meter, services) but boots way faster and loads the desktop faster with a slower hard drive, slower CPU and less RAM? The drive on my desktop is only one quarter full. Could you offer an explanation on that?

    Ran the hotfixes, now system boots even slower. Tried to run boot trace, same error. Superfetch is running.

    Alright I got the 2 hotfixes, I am imaging my drive first, God knows what havoc these can wreak.

    I'm getting the same error, "Gave up waiting for Win7RTM physical prefetcher after 300 seconds. Could not wait for prefetcher" and layout has disapeared after first boot. How do i fix this please.
