    Поздрави!

PS: Sorry guys, English is not the only language in the world... :angel

  2. I never really relied on Windows Update... And I'm as secure as anyone which is smart enough to avoid porn sites and shiny ads. ;)

From what I see I WILL avoid Windows 10 as I did with 8 and 8.1. Windows XP serves me well on my laptop and nowadays Debian is doing this on my main PC even better. Nothing more really to say but I'm glad that the Windows fanboys are quiet this time. :D

    Regards.

  3. I think it's so cool how you guys love your old Windows OSes and work so hard to keep them running and doing what you want, no matter what year it is. I'm the same way. I plan to use XP forever. I'm actually going to most likely be the world's last XP user and plan to send Microsoft a screenshot of my XP desktop with the date shown in a tooltip in the bottom right-hand corner in like 2050. The new Microsoft president will view it on Windows 150. It will crash and he will cry. LOL

Keep in mind me about your plan in 2050. :D

  4. Thanksfully my hardware and software is both supported on XP and Vista, and 7 but to be honest I will stay with XP for now. Anyway if something really bad happens I can immediately switch to Vista because I already have the disk. :thumbup I'm such a strange person - I have a working XP system but I'm also looking forward to Vista...

  5. Bakuchris, you are just showing off your PC. Your real idea is just "look what PC I have". You already posted this in Windows 2000/NT section and if you are not lying you already use 8.1. Then why you want to use both 2000 and 98SE? And to make the things even more funny - you are not even trying to run the OS's which you mentioned.

  6. My investigation was short. The reason for this strange acces denied errors was Comodo Firewall which I installed a few weeks ago to protect his laptop from viruses. Strange but thanksfully correct answer. :)

Thanks anyway for the suggestions, guys.

  7. For example mounting an image with Daemon Tools and uninstalling is impossible not just for one program but for all programs.

TrustedInstaller sounds like...correct answer but I'm still not sure. And if this is the case how he (my friend) can bypass it?

  8. I don't know when this happened but for some reason if my friend is trying to mount some iso image or even to uninstall a program "acces denied" is shown. He have Admin account but still Windows 7 is refusing some mandatory tasks. What could be the problem?

PS: On my XP machine I haven't got a single problem about Admin rights.

  9. Microsoft is having a really hard time making XP go away. I see they attack it from all fronts, publishing advertisements about its end of life. My Windows Update has always been off, so I missed this one. Sadly, it seems to be working, because random people, who have no associations with MS, respond to me telling that the source of this or that problem I describe is the outdated OS.

Yay, I'm not the only one with turned off updates! :D

Now on topic: Windows XP have too large user base to die so quickly. Microsoft wants something that will not happen at least in the next 3 years when there will be newer hardware that clearly will refuse to install on XP, even on Vista. But still I believe that XP will remain there and in use because it is well working, light and good OS.

  10. Most probably I will buy this thing after 6 months or so. I hope that by then there will be better video card than this but I'm not very optimistic. If the limit for 32 bit OS is 4 GB (I hear about 3.5 GB or something) then after all why I need 64 bit?

By the way my target will be Vista Home Premium because it is cheap. ;)

  11. If everything is fine and the dreams are perfect after a few months I will make a big upgrade to my 6 years old PC - I will buy a new one! :D It will be nothing special in terms of today standarts (most probably 4 GB RAM, Intel dual core CPU with 2.7-2.8 GHz, integrated Intel HD video card, 500 GB HDD) but for my personal usage will be fine. If as I said the dreams are perfect and accurate maybe something better and cheaper will arrive by then. :)

Now after you have basic description of what I want to have I would like to hear your opinion about using Vista on it. I'm strong XP fan but I can jump over the river and use Vista for the new babe. Also I want to hear from you what Vista to buy (32 or 64 bit)?

If you ask me "Why Vista?" here are my answers:

I tried it and I like it more than 7.

    It just works.

It is more beautiful than 7.

It haven't got a number behind the name. :D

  12. Yes, with some "hard core" tweaks Vista can become low on resources but after all not lower than XP. ;) The choice is yours! If you aks me I will stay with XP. Everytime when I install it the memory usage is SO LOW: 120 MB + 80~100 MB from new drivers = ~200 MB. This is too good to be true. And if you ask me for Vista - it's support is dropping even faster than the support for XP. In my story for Vista (where I tested it) I mentioned that and the reason for it is the initial reputation of Vista (maybe).

  13. If you want to scan ONLY specific folder/file/anything: right click on it and then click to scan with Malwarebytes. Simple as that. ;)

    dohsmall.jpg Thanks RacerBG

I saw the ShellEx context menu entries in the registry capture and totally forgot about them. When I right-clicked a folder its entry was way down past the scrolling part so I have been not even seeing the "Scan with Malewarebytes Anti-Malware" for quite sometime.

Indeed that method works just fine! I'll update the top post. Thanks again.

No problems. :) You know sometimes the hardest questions have simple answer.
