  1. Thanks johnhc. Here are the 2 files I am having problems with minlogon.txt efw.txt
  2. I am trying to merge or import reg files into an nLite version of XP SP3 for use with a CF drive. When I double click on the reg file I get a message that the information was added to the registry but after I reboot and check the registry editor none of the changes show up. I get the same result if I right click and select "merge". Can someone tell me what I am missing.
  3. I have a program that is used for digitizing photographs so that I can use them with my embroidery machine. When I select some of the features the programs will crash and shutdown. The program behaves normally under a full installation of XP. The program requires a security dongle attached to the parallel port with a special driver in order to run. Anyone have any idea what I could have removed to cause this problem? See attached LAST_SESSION.txt
  4. Show pop-ups fixed my problem. Thanks
  5. No I did not remove any media player components
  6. I did not remove this component of my XP Pro Edition but after installing if I mouse over mp3 files a pop up window used to pop up and show file properties like bitrate etc. My lite version no longer shows this information. Is this dependent on other components I may have removed?
  7. I am the administrator but can't not access anything on the internet time tab in Date and Time properties
  8. Thanks galocza. That solved the problem and now all of the cameras are recognized.
  9. I have an XP system that I modified as shown below with the nLite Final version 1.01. When I initially connected my Canon G2 and G3 cameras to my PC through USB the new hardware wizard popped up and I was required to install drivers. Once the drivers were installed the XP Scanner and Camera wizard started as it should. I subsequently purchased 2 additional Canon cameras; a G6 and an S3. The instructions that came with both of these cameras stated that no drivers were required for either when used with Windows XP. When I plug either of these in I sometimes get a New Hardware Wizard and sometimes not. I have tried to install Windows 2000 drivers with no luck all. A few times I have seen error that refers to hlpdev.dll. I fear I have removed something in windows that I should not have. I have tried both of the later cameras with a full version of XP and the system does recognize both with out any additional drivers. 10. Ok it seems I may have found the problem and maybe someone can explain why. The difference is in the virtual memory size. In all cases I move mine to a second physical drive partition. It seems that in some cases that the initial space used by the page files on "C" is not recovered after moving them to another drive even though the setting on the advanced virtual memory settings show "no paging file" on C. Below are 2 example preset texts. The first one produces a uncompressed windows size of ~ 500 MB after moving the page files to another drive. The second produces a windows size of ~ 1.24 GB with the page files moved to another drive. In fact the second shows the same size regardless as to whether the page files are moved or not. The problem does not seem to be related to any differences between 6 beta and subsequent versions of nLite The only difference I see is in the Drivers, Networks Settings and Services components. 11. Ok things are getting a bit confused for me. None of the installations I refered to include programs, NetFrame or VM Hotfix addons. I am going to reload my basic windows installation from the sources made from the beta 6 and then load the one made from 1.0 Final. Then I will include the ini file for each as will as exact size on disk figures. That may help sort this puzzle out.
  12. Netframe 1.1 was used with 1.0 beta 6 and version 2 with RC6, 7 and 8. Java version is 5.X. No hotfixes were added to any of them. I updated after installation.
  13. I assume by source file you mean the finished nlite installation disk size. I am talking about the installed Windows folder size after installation. The installation disk is only about 165 MB. I did not enable CAB recompression
  14. Yes I am quite sure the same items were removed
  15. Can anyone tell me why nLite version 1.0 beta 6 makes much smaller installations than RC6, RC7 or RC8 when essentially all the same components are selected for removal. There seems to be several hundred MB difference after installation. The installation I made using the beta version is less that 900 MB after installation and the installations made with subsequent version are > 1.7 GB. All were made from the same copy of XPHE and incude all the SP2 updates. The installation made from the beta version seems to be very stable and I have not experienced any problems with it. I am just curious what the differences are.
