how do you send a message using the messenger service on Word Pad? What do you type? I need a step by step guide PLEASE!!!!!! I heard you can send via a LAN to fellow clients etc.

If you are in a LAN, how can you send instant messages via Microsoft Word? Someone at college managed to send a sentance to another persons computer. Can someone help!?
