The Intel Partition type is what you want to select. The read errors are not a good sign of a healthy hard drive nor is the fact it now shows up as RAW. I assume your attempting to recover your data off the drive ? Have you ran any diagnostics on the drive like Seagate Seatools ? A 1TB drive will take many many hours on the advanced scan to complete but if the drive is having "other errors" that time can easily double or triple. Normally we attempt to get a clone image of the hard drive to another drive the same size or larger to recover the data that way if any mistakes are made your not working on your ONLY copy of the data. DIY recovery has risks for certain it just depends on the value of the data for you.

Yes their is a good chance as long as the heads have not touched the platters and caused platter damage.

Connect to the terminal on the drive and post what comes up when the drive powers on. I 2nd taking the board off and cleaning the connections as well. Most likely one of the heads has gone bad based on the posted info thus far.

You can try the GNU ddrescue http://www.gnu.org/software/ddrescue/ddrescue.html to see if you can get an image of the drive to another drive the same size or larger then attempt data recovery with r-studio on the Image. Otherwise with the read errors a PRO Data recovery imaging tool "hardware based" may be needed for recovery

Looks like "read errors" and pending sector reallocation based on the logs. I would suspect heads or possible platter damage. I haven't seen anything less than 500GB myself with the BUSY or LB0 issues. I would suspect the "smart" is tripped. Have you ran the Seagate Seatools on this drive ? That will tell if smart is tripped however I don't think a PCB will solve this one.

I know this thread is getting a tad old however I use the StarTech SATDOCK22RE almost every day. http://www.startech.com/HDD/Duplicators/eSATA-USB-to-SATA-Standalone-Hard-Drive-Duplicator-Dock~SATDOCK22RE I have tested this duplicator it doesn't grow your partition like ghost does but it does make a complete bit stream copy of the source drive to the destination drive and if you run an MD5 hash it will match if that is the level you need. I have seen it copy a 40GB drive in less than 15min I have done 80GB drives and it's been approx 30min or less. I regularly do 500GB drives and they take 1hour to 1hour 10min in most cases. I have done this with other programs on many PC's with the on-board sata connectors and with ghost which has been much slower in my experience. I do wish the display was better ie: LCD with percentage but it works once you use it. I have gotten used to it myself. I own 4 of them for the money its worth it to me. You can use many programs to "grow" the partition after the copy such as Acronis and many many others.

Huck I don't see a problem the only difference is the 3% complete in the first page of the long thread it also shows this as 10% someone was able to "catch" it before it completed. The results you have seem to be correct from the posted instructions does the drive now work ? I refer you back to page 1 of this thread NOW I copy/paste from this page below: and you see the very top line below that's the exact same results you have ! The other 2nd line is only additional info the poster was able to catch not every single person is able to see that. The 3rd line is the important info. I agree you have 00 for both results maybe it was just that fast ? or like many so many others you missed some step and need to try again.
