I just wanted to notice that WPI 5.4 perfectly works on Windows Vista RC1 (german x64) for me!
I am working on how to start WPI.hta on first login, but after starting it manually all the WPI features seemed to work. Even the installation after reboot worked. Great work!!!

@ fizban2: An up to date guide would be very nice!
EDIT: Ok, Drivers and OEM is working now. I put them on a CD-RW that contains the AutoUnattend.xml and insert it into my second optical drive while setup runs. USB Stick would be an alternative.

Hmm, I can confirm that bug with the languages. Alle entries get written into useroptions.js, but WPI only loads english interface.
With the WPI 5.4 Beta version that mritter sent some people, this still was OK.

You guess the right sadicq. It is only included in the latest WPI 5.4 Beta. It is not included in the official WPI 5.3.

Could we have a german or multilingual version like the one that is included in XPize but from this login, that is better than the included one?

To run WPI, you must have the file mshta.exe in system32 folder. WPI needs it to open. I don't know what else is needed, but try to put the file in there and run WPI. Perhaps try this one.

I just searched for it in Device Drivers forum and found a solution I think.
1. Extract the file using
setpoint301.exe /extract_all:C:\SetPoint
2. To create the response file, run
C:\SetPoint\setup.exe /r
3. Copy the response file from "C:\windows\setup.iss" to "C:\SetPoint"
4. The silent install can now be done by running
C:\SetPoint\setup.exe /s
As I use an AutoIt script for installing SetPoint 3.01, I didn't test this yet.

I get the same error, when I remove my Internet Explorer via nLite from an Install-DVD. Does the file "mshta.exe" exist in your system32 dir?

It didnt work for me. When installing it is pointed at :\WPI instead of :\Install
Let me be clear, i have :\WPI and :\Install and :\$OEM$ that is it.
Hmm, it just works fine for me. But I do not have :\WPI, on my disc it is :\Install\WPI, :\Install\Programme and :\Install\Treiber so WPI is in the Install folder. If you want, you can download this archive and see my structure in there. But the explanations are german.
P.S.: Sorry for not answering your PM, I had some problems with my Internet in the last days.

Ok, I do not really need the WMP in the WPI main window. It would be enough for me, if it plays audio during the installation process.

@ mritter: Is this the reason, why you do not delete all the unused explanations from the language files in WPI 5.3? It would be awesome if the manual would be available in different languages depending on the lang files.

I have to agree with nutmonkey! WPI is the most powerful and best way to get all the applications installed silently on an UA-Disc. And the best is, that you can see every piece of code if you want. There is nothing like an .exe so that you do not know what WPI does on your machine. Using it for 20 months or something like that now and I have to say: WPI 5 rocks on. It is the best WPI that I ever saw! Only thing that has been increased with all the new features is the time that WPI now takes to load from CD/DVD. But since the error I had with that is fixed, it isn't a problem any more!

Thank you mritter. So do we need the fixed tTimer function AND the 2 lines in mian.js or just the 2 lines in main.js? I use both fixes now and it seems to work, I hope you thought it like that.

Yes you are right, but I still execute that WPI.cmd from winnt.sif as it was before WPI 5.0. Because if I use the cmdline method, I cannot define, that the desktop loads while WPI is starting/displayed, and this is what I need for some things.

His default language is german, I think, but I can't reproduce this error either.

I think only thing that is language related in it is the installer or not? Downloaded it at the official java site (java.sun.com) and it is multilingual it said.

I installed you german Nero 7.5.1.1 Lite on a german Vista RC1 64-Bit System and it seems to work!
Thank you for your installer! The original one points out, that this release is not compatible with Vista. And after installing with my own .msi installer it did not work always, but with your installer it seems to work! I've testet BurningROM, Express, CoverDesigner, CD/DVD Speed and DriveSpeed. No Error.
