Discussing this tool in the [Guide] Disable Data Collection in Windows 10 thread: http://www.msfn.org/board/topic/174160-guide-disable-data-collection-in-windows-10/?p=1105925

First: Obviously I didn't see it when I posted this.

Second: Here it is the info about how it works and what changes it makes in the registry, which may or may not be of some use for other members (You need to login, in order to have access to MDL post).

    Epic comment:

"All these crappy tools that everyone is using is like putting a band-aid on a bullet wound. This is not the answer. The answer is to cut this crap off at the source and tell M$ to stop this crap to begin with."

Yep :thumbup, as a matter of fact these tools may actually work in favour of MS, it won't be long before the shills will start writing that "If you are really paranoid, and though it is not recommended, you can run tool x or tool y that prevent Windows 10 to send data to Microsoft, and you can thus enjoy almost fully the Windows 10 experience" or something like that, thus minimizing the other issues with the abomination.

    jaclaz

Third: I am not recommending or criticizing this tool. My point here is as said in first post:

Well it looks every day more people and also sofware companies are starting to try to stop this spying tactics in Win10

Fourth: As it is usual in all forums any moderator is free to relocate or delete this thread.

    Best Regards

No offense intended, I merely pointed out such as a means of cross-referencing the discussion. :)

  2. Is this the issue?: http://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/2670838

Compatibility issues on certain computers that have hybrid video cards Important Some computers that have a combination of Intel and AMD video cards in a hybrid configuration have drivers installed that are incompatible with this platform update.

After you install this update and then restart the computer, the computer may crash because of these compatibility issues. In this situation, you receive a Stop error message that resembles the following:

    2827827.jpg

Note This Stop error includes the "PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA" text and the Igdpmd64.sys or Igdpmd32.sys file name.

To resolve this issue, you may have to install update 2834140 ("0x00000050" Stop error after you install update 2670838 on a computer that is running Windows 7 SP1 or Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1). Additionally, use the following tables to install the latest compatible drivers for your video card.

    If so there's a "fix": http://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/2834140

"0x00000050" Stop error after you install update 2670838 on a computer that is running Windows 7 SP1 or Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1

All supported x86-based versions of Windows 7

All supported x64-based versions of Windows 7

     HTH. :)

  3. Move to NTFS formatted USB stick then. But yes it is a problem since on FAT32 install.wim cannot be larger than 4GB and thus one has to use other filesystems but booting install from those is not as easy as booting from FAT32 (and not as fast imo). Sorry for OT.

O/T, sorry: Could one convert install.wim to install.esd thus reducing it's size (hopefully under 4gb) , slap it on a FAT32 stick to install as UEFI? If so, any good how-to's around? Admittedly I haven't searched (nor do I need to) Google.

  4. Start here.

    Then go here.

Then Mic$oft Update Catalog and then... start praying you don't lose your mind from all the conflicting reports/info from M$. As Tomorrow said it's an impossible task, at least from Vista forward IMHO. That's why there's so many lists & forums with differing versions of lists... like here, Wincert.Net, MDL, WUD... etc. The community members pitching in and helping is what keeps these lists fairly accurate IMO, I pitch in where I can and post info I think may be helpful as do many others here, join the team. :)

  5. Another FUBAR Micro$lop update: KB3033929 & KB3035131 were both released 3/10 March patch Tuesday but 3033929 actually then simultaneously supersedes 3035131.

    Read here: http://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/3035131

How is this update (3033929) related to the 3035131 update discussed in MS15-025?

This update (3033929) shares affected binaries with the 3035131 update being released simultaneously via MS15-025. This overlap necessitates that one update supersede the other and, in this case, advisory update 3033929 supersedes update 3035131. Customers with automatic updating enabled should experience no unusual installation behavior; both updates should install automatically and both should appear in the list of installed updates. However, for customers who download and install updates manually, the order in which the updates are installed will determine the observed behavior as follows:

Scenario 1 (preferred): Customer first installs update 3035131 and then installs advisory update 3033929.
Result: Both updates should install normally and both updates should appear in the list of installed updates.

Scenario 2: Customer first installs advisory update 3033929 and then attempts to install update 3035131.
Result: The installer notifies the user that the 3035131 update is already installed on the system; and the 3035131 update is NOT added to the list of installed updates.

By the above reading I would conclude that KB3035131 is not needed in the ULZ list & doesn't need to be integrated.  I integrated both into a fresh ISO and tested on VM, both showed as installed but when I ran Win Update Cleanup it removed KB3035131.

However, by what's written here: http://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/3035131

Known issues with this security update

If you manually install the security update that is described in advisory 3033929 and then manually install security update 3035131, you receive a message that states that update 3035131 is already installed. In this scenario, security update 3035131 is not added to the list of installed updates. Update 3033929 includes the security updates that are provided by update 3035131. Therefore, the system is not in an unprotected state in this scenario, even though update 3035131 is not added to the list of installed updates. Customers who plan to manually install both updates are advised to install the 3035131 update before they install the 3033929 update. If customers manually install the updates in this order, the list of installed updates will include both updates.

... I would conclude that 3035131 is needed in the list & should  be integrated.  FUBAR indeed.

As a side note KB3033929 is causing reboot loops in some users dual-booting Linux OS's.

    Good job, Micro$lop.

  6. Thanks for the links but there's a slight problem.

The cab file i have is much much newer according to the digital signature inside, mine dates 20 of august 2014 while the ones up for download are 15 of october 2013 :<

Also my cab files has more weight to it 53.6 vs 51.1 mb.

Yup, you're right... same here only my .cab (not the one from the link above) is 55.7mb and sig is dated 11/07/2014

EDIT: I may have made .cab from latest IE11 installer but I could've sworn I downloaded it from here.

  7.

Hello steven4554 & thanks again for maintaining this list, it is very much appreciated! Did you or didn't you formerly provide direct d/l links for IE 11 .CAB files (for integration) on the first post of this thread, or am I going a little  ?

    Thanks & regards

    "Pink"

I second this question, got my last cab files directly from here.

Did the magic ie fairies steal them?

    Never mind.

Download Internet Explorer 11 Cabinet File (32-bit)

Download Internet Explorer 11 Cabinet File (64-bit)

    Source: http://www.askvg.com/download-internet-explorer-ie-latest-version/

  8. It's not that the files are gonna be "different" but that the detections (beside your FP factory Avast) may be different, Small developers like Harkaz are plagued by many FP's...I suspect these are FP's, I also suspect that Harkaz will be along in 3....2.....1.... to explain as much.

    YMMV.

  9. The IE11-Windows6.1-KB3021952-x64.msu file in your lists I believe is a MS mistake which they fixed on the technet download links, but elsewhere?

The correct size is 52,267,471 bytes and the SHA-1 is 33AE2C3AC484A0EE9BA13597938F7AD0FA210F7A

The one in your current list is 28,271,691 bytes and 34C3E214F853CE20E8E787276893FE210EBACBD6.

I think MS used 32 bit IE11 one instead of 64 bit.

Yup, I noticed that yesterday, M$ Download Center had same link (32 bit) for 32 & 64 bit all day yesterday... also note that KB3021952 - IE 11 Cumulative Update is another "bundle" update thru WU that installs 3021952 & also KB3023607 ... so KB3023607 should be included in list... Download 3021952 thru M$ Catalog Updates includes both 3021952 (49mb) & 3023607 (5.2mb - 55mb total) - both must be integrated for clean WU tested in VM.

Direct d/l link for KB3023607 x64 (from windows update log)

  10. I think the following are missing:

Here's what I've come up with so far from your list of "missing" updates:

    KB2532531    Included in Security Updates

KB2533623    superseded by KB2726535 (one of prerequisite for IE11)

KB2574819    RDP (Steve doesn't include RDP updates, mentioned several times in this thread)

    KB2857650    RDP

    KB2862973    Included in Security Updates

KB2882822    one of IE 11 prerequisites

KB2894844    Included in .Net Frame 3.5.1 updates

    KB2923545    RDP

    KB2965788    Superseded by KB3003743

    KB2973351    Included in Security Updates

    KB2984976    RDP

    KB2994023    RDP

  11. Thanks, I'll just include it then as it makes WU look cleaner.  ;)

Has anybody else had the IE11 issue with it continually opening the welcome page (that was before and after including KB2976627 in the image)? Might just use a script to add the registry entry until I know why it does it.

I never experienced that  , I get the welcome screen when I first launch IE11 after installing Win7, but after that it no longer appears for me.

I disable first run wizard in autounattend.xml ...

  12.

The issue appears to be related to attempting to integrate Desktop Protocol 8.1 and its associated prerequisites and updates.

    The KBs are:
