  1. My guess is it is safe to delete those files, since they are in folders named Cache and Temporary. However why would you want to remove them?
  2. diskpart list disk select disk # clean
  3. I am not sure what "Minus 1" is but a quick search suggests its a music band. I am not sure what you're trying to do though, you need to work on your english. If you want to burn an audio cd I suggest CDBurnerXP http://www.cdburnerxp.se/
  4. Norton software has a history of causing performance problems and system instability. I would reccomend removing it and using a free alternative like Microsoft Security Essentials. http://www.microsoft.com/security_essentials/
  5. freeware? Windows Live Movie Maker but you need Vista or 7 http://download.live.com/moviemaker
  6. IIRC you're referring to the 'fake' archive files of Microsoft Office that started appearing on the net a few years ago: http://digg.com/software/Compress_500_MB_t...ng_KGB_Archiver http://digg.com/tech_news/Compress_MS_Offi...th_KGB_Archiver KGB Archiver is a legitamate program, but those files people upload are fakes and may have viruses etc inside.

  8. Do you mean to include it with the default profile so it is replicated to the user profiles, I guess you would have to repack the installer which is in NSIS format. Or before a user first runs firefox and creates their profile you could have copied it to the firefox default profile which may be easier to do.

  10. I am almost certain that feature is enabled by default since Vista, and is not available on XP and earlier. Also I recommend using netsh or gpedit instead of the registry where possible since they are "supported". For example: netsh int tcp show global netsh interface tcp set global autotuninglevel=normal We actually have a topic on this setting back from 2006 http://www.msfn.org/board/heres-why-tcpwin...sta-t87969.html This setting is actually determined by Windows Scaling Heuristics since Vista SP2 and is best left alone. http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library...036(WS.10).aspx
  11. It would be evil if they throttled the OpenDNS IPs.
  12. Interesting, I'll be sticking with OpenDNS for now though.
  13. Don't waste your money on these type of apps, use a free one like CCleaner. Don't use any registry optimizers though as they tend to break things making the system less stable and do nothing for performance. CCleaner is the only program worth running once in a while to reclaim hard disk space from temporary files and such. You can use the defrag program built into windows once in a while if you have a hard drive with little free space and use it heavily.

  19. Use a System Restore point? Discontinue using register cleaners. Use another modern browser temporarily e.g. Firefox or Chrome.

  21. Well Thunderbird and Outlook have their own integrated address books. Not sure I understand what you need. I do see extensions for Thunderbird to sync to Gmail which can then sync to Outlook https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/thunderbird/addon/8451 https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/thunderbird/addon/6095 http://kb.mozillazine.org/Sharing_address_books BTW Vista had an Address Book application which is now just Windows Contacts in 7. It might be possible to get Thunderbird to sync with these, e.g. https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/thunderbird/addon/8616

  23. firewall.cpl - Windows Firewall wf.msc - Windows Firewall with Advanced Security Best firewall there is for Windows IMO.
  24. Probably no reason to include the current OS aka Windows 7 as Server 2008 R2 is not in the poll. But then I couldn't vote as that's all I run
