  1. Thanks for the quick reply. Ah yes I think you might be right, I don't think I'm using the proper terminology. Pretty much you know how you have a file that says : clone of "Windows XP (or whatever OS you want)" within the VMware File Folder in the main hardrive (I was currently using C) I just copied it to my D Hardrive. Oh also, I think I forgot to mention I changed OS systems though. From Vista to Windows 7 since I thought it would've been a good oportunity to start out new. Anyways, I did stop using my hardrive C, and am now using my Hardrive D and E. So now all the files I took out from the C drive I transfered to the D and E drive. But now, like I said when I loaded the VMware workstation, it wouldn't load my previous one, and instead loads a clean new worstation without anything in it. (It does have the same settings though as my previous one ie; it has the correct memory limits, the internet connection, etc... the only thing is that the memory is gone... so I'm thinking why it wouldn't reset the entire workstation completely when its inside is practically empty ) And yeah like I said the thing that is getting my hopes up is that the files does still say it was last created last year, which was the year I began using VMware. Thanks again for trying to help me.
  2. Hey everyone, I just need some major help here. It's regarding those who know about the VMWARE Station software. The thing is, my computer got infected by a virus a couple of days ago, so I had to wipe out the entire memory in my main hardrive, but I did manage to keep a backup copy. But the thing is now that I cleaned out my entire computer, the program doesn't seem to read the clone of my station properly. Instead of loading the files that I had before, it doesn't. It comes up as a blank, clean, new slate. (Which also means there's nothing in there but the recyle bin). I really do need major help since this is one of the biggest crises I'm facing. All my important files were there, and since I did think for sure that it was fine since I backed it up with another hardrive that it'd be ok, but it's not. Nothing is wrong with the software either. It's still managing to pick up the clone file. The only thing is that it's reading it like it's empty, or pretty much like it's just a new file- a new clone. Also, the clone file hasn't been replaced, edited, or infected either. I looked at it's updated history stats. and it still says the last time I updated it was back in 2008, which really should've been the time I first started the program. I'm not sure if I'm making any sense here. But honestly, any information you guys can dish out will be realllllllly helpful. Thanks in advance, and I really do appreciate any help.
