  1. I was able to use the nividia software that came with my video card driver package. It allowed me to configure my dual monitors in a couple different ways. If you have an nvidia card, go the nvidia control panel and have a look around. I do not remember exactly (and I'm at work), but you should be able to find it. I assume ATI would have a similar setup, but I can not be sure. Hope this helps... wordup48
  2. ripken204: where do you buy your cooling supplies from?
  3. You will likely get a lot more people trying this pack if you post a screenshot and give a little more information about what this does. Is it an addon to use in conjunction with XPize or a separate program? Is it for Vista ro XP etc etc Just a thought wordup48
  4. how do i take full control of that file? I go into the properties, but the "Full Control" checkbox is greyed out and I am not able to check it? Perhaps I am doing something wrong, but I am not sure how to fix it. Thanks in advance... wordup48
  5. What about this card? 7600GS AGP for $119.99 http://www.newegg.com/product/product.asp?...N82E16814130076 On another note, can anyone find a 6600GT AGP card anywhere on the net? Newegg does not have any it seems and I tried a quick google and nothing really turned up. wordup48
  6. Is anyone able to offer any help? Or is this thing I am trying to do not possible? Please reply if you can help. wordup48
  7. Hi, My friend has a Dell Inspiron 600m and wants me to format the system. However, he does not have the recovery CDs any longer (must have lost them). I know how to reinstall Windows by using an OEM CD and the product key on the bottom of the system. I can also find out the office key by using a key finder Utility. My question is this. Windows has different CDs, so that a retail CD will only take retail keys, an OEM CD will only take OEM keys, etc (I know you can modify the setupp.ini to accept any type of key you want). Are there also different types of office CDs? Or are they all the same? If office CDs are different just like windows CDs are, and assuming Dell's office key is an OEM one (is that a fair assumption??), is there anyway I can modify my Retail Office 2003 CD to accept friends legal licensed key from Dell. Now if the CDs are not different, (i.e., any office CD will take and office key, then it is not really an issue) I hope I am making myself clear. I just want to use my friend's legal office key when I reinstall his system. Thanks, wordup48
  8. Ok, thanks Shark. I have modified it and it looks like this. Does this look correct? [general] builddate=12/08/2006 description=Installs Adobe Reader 8.0. language=English - by adding this transforms directive to the 1ST command below like this; %windir%\vcpack.exe transforms=1033.mst //replacing the 1033 with your localization code, you can localize the installation title=Adobe Reader version=8.0 website=http://www.msfn.org/board/index.php?showtopic=88167 [GUIRUNONCE] %windir%\AR8Lite_ENG.exe cmd /c del /Q/F %windir%\AR8Lite_ENG.exe [dosnet_files] d1,AR8Lite_ENG.exe [txtsetup_files] AR8Lite_ENG.exe = 1,,,,,,,1,0,0 Thanks in advance. I pretty much left everything as it was, and just changed the filename. I'm not sure if I needed to do anything else? wordup48
  9. I know this is not svcpack compatible, but can I make the switchless installer into an addon and then just integrate it using nlite. I am pretty new to all this, so I would appreciate the help. Thank you, wordup48
  10. Can i just integrate this as a hotfix in nLite (and I assume it installs with the default options)? Also, I assume this should not have a problem with integrating this along with IE7 with nLite 1.2.1. This would be integrating after IE7 I presume because this is a newer file. Any clarification would be appreciated. Thank you! wordup48
  11. Can anyone confirm if the method detailed by neo_matrix.rs works? Also, I use RyanVM's update packs and I was wondering If I should integrate the update pack FIRST and then IE7, or if I should do it the other way around? Thanks in advance. wordup48
  12. Thank you very much gresh for the clear explanation
  13. Hi Gresh, I was wondering how you know when certain updates have replaced others. I have not been able to figure that out, and it is a little frustrating! I usually just end up applying the updates in the number order of the KB, and hoping that in that case it should take care of itself. Although I would like it much better if I did not have to slipstream any unnecessary updates. I look forward to your reply. Thank you! wordup48
  14. back for some more here. I need a little more clarification please. On my laptop, which has been activated by calling MS after using a stock XP SP2 OEM CD and my own CDkey on the sticker on the bottom of my laptop, I now would take the wpa.dbl that is in my system, make a copy of it somewhere, and then what? Do I: - integrate it into the i386\system32 dir that is on my stock XP SP2 OEM CD? or - just copy this file over to this windows\system32 dir when i do a format next? I do not find a $OEM$\$$\system32 dir on my cd, nor do i find anything remotely close to that.
  15. Ok, I am a little bit confused, so I'd just like to ask for some clarification. I have a laptop that I always have to call MS to get activated. I am using a normal XP OEM CD rather than the crap recovery ones that came with my laptop (I do not like all the extra junk that the recovery CDs have on them). With this tool, can I somehow make it so that I would not have to call MS every time after a format? BTW, when I install I use the original CD key that is on the sticker on the bottom of my laptop, if that helps. Please go easy on me. I am new at doing any sort of mods to and XP CD; I have not gotten into the unattended stuff, but that will be next. Anyway, I look forward to your replies. Thanks! wordup48
