k so we all ended up on the same page lol. I got a logitech webcam but the problem really occurs with winamp, and only since i added a new drive, then when all was done, upgraded winamp 5.2 I'm gonna try reinstalling the drivers for the webcam, and if it still occures, gonna try to get my hand on winamp 5.1(3?). I'll give news latter

The system is back on, and still works perfect with my old 2x256MB sdram 133 No I don't mix sdram with ddr, i removed the 2 sdram sticks and added 2 ddr ones there is 1x256MB and 1x512MB both ddr 266 my mobo is ECS k7s5a. manual does not specify it has been tested for 512mb sticks but I tried them both independently and got the same problem with each. the 256mb one is from unknown brand but on the chips it reads infiniteon the 512mb one is from advance modules tested both of them separatedly and got the same "unexpected pre-bios reboot"

Hi, I installed a new hard drive and everything seems to work fine. But I hadn't opened winamp yet. After a couple of tests and reboots, everything's fine with the drive, all files copied and moved. good! I then open winamp which tells me there is a new version out, which I download and install. But when winamp opens, BSOD!!! the cause is LVUMSFD.sys which I can't find lot of infos about on the web. Anyone else experienced this? it's supposed to have something to do with massstorage so maybe it's related to my new HD, but again, why everything (all that i got to test at least) works perfect except winamp causing BSOD? The exact moment is: winamp loads, open main windows, then playlist but it jams right about when media library should be visible. Uninstalled and reinstalled clean, jams about Winaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa (in winamp! it whips the lamers a**) Thanks for any help

Hi, I have an old athlon k7 cpu and board, which can be upgraded to use up to 1Gb of ddr 266Mhz. So, I shutdown my machine, remove the old sdram, install the 256 and the 512 sticks of ddr then try to boot. To my surprise: no bios beeps, but also, no bios either. The thing (judging from my cd drives activity) seems to reboot constantly before even the first beep that indicates "hey I'm alive" that's typically heard as the same time bios starts. I tried to search around but can't find a way to formulate my question/problem correctly (I'm francophone). Can anyone help me? More infos: my board does not have jumpers, my bios does not have a function to activate ddr instead of sdram, there is supposed to be automatic detection whether it's sdram or ddr (from manual).

I've been using netlimiter for a long time. Upgraded to version 2 and it worked perfect until yesterday. I noticed it had stopped limiting uploads, then when trying to click on the limit checkbox, it says Operation Failed, Accès Refusé. What's wrong? Tried uninstalling it, deleting the folder etc. still make the same error. Now how can I fix this or what other solution do I have? Thanks

Thanks you so much. Had a slow booting problem and this thread is easily findable since it's 3rd in the list when searching for "slow boot". Bootvis already has an optimise computer mode, so no need to look at traces (well for me i didn't have to, optimisation worked). Now everything is fine!

Hi, I just bought a logitech cordless desktop lx700 and I just wanted to know how to configure advance settings. Configuring keys is relatively easy, but each time I press something it writes the name of that thing in the screen in pale green which I don't see much. I checked and rechecked but there does not seem to be a way to change the font, the color, the size, or the place it appears. Anybody can give a tip? Thanks.

I'm sure it is, in fact, knowing they will release a new one before this friday (this is a guess). If I was allanoll I would simply wait for 5.113 so I would not work for nothing. I still have 5.1 only and it's fine for the moment. But remember allanoll is a student (or I think he his). The finals are coming in less than a month so I can also guess that just like me he has a truckload of work to do.

It was the same with a,b,c,d,e versions... Like Nero, I guess they like releasing stuff and having lots of people going to their webpage to download the latest version. Anyway, what would be the meaning of "latest version" if they were not constantly releasing a new one to fix a bug or two.

Thanks you so much!!!! Downloading on rapidshare was not easy after all the security settings where hightened, but I would have had to customise this anyway one day or another. The uninstall utility seemed to have worked. BUT, after uninstalling it rebooted and THEN I GOT A BLUE SCREEN AT WINDOWS STARTUP, 2 times in a row, but then selected "Last Known Working Configuration" at the 3rd reboot and got in windows ok. SAV automatically detected the remaining infected .dll which had not reproduced or changed name for once I am now browsing and have not seen an AD yet. I can never thank you enough. EDIT: go check here for more infos, http://www.xeromag.com/vx2.html I was outraged to learn that this infection is coming from Canada, using a network provider based in Montreal (where I come from) and profiting to U.S. ads firms.

This is worst than I thought... my security settings being hightened, it didnt let me download it. So after 2 times I went in Tools to edit the settings, when trying for the 3rd time it says THAT I CANNOT TRY TO DOWNLOAD THEIR REMOVER MORE THAN 2 TIMES A DAY!!! WTF!!!!!!!! Now they are really testing my patience... can anyone get this file and post it here?

Hi, I accidently got a spyware installed. Strangely Symantec AV10 did NOTHING to stop the spread and I ended up having a couple of useless softs on my drive. I uninstalled them all, but still could not get rid of the publicity. I tried everything, AdAware, Spybot S&D, cwshredder, a full system scan in SymantecAV10... then Hitman Pro ran for hours, but at the end of all this I still get adware.look2me detected by norton, and even if my security settings seam to have changed, some pages dont open cause they are "restricted"... I still get popups every minute or two!!! Some IE windows don't even appear in the startbar and I have to close them with ctrl-alt-delete if, say, I click the desktop button... This is really annoying and driving me crazy. It's really sad computers can't feel pain cause I would definitely punch it until it passes out in torments So PLEASE can a nice samaritan help me? I've spend over 6 hours on that problem and still nothing seems to have overcome it. Desperated thanks

you should read a bit about runonceex... and to delete files and folders, there is nothing easier than a simple batch file.

This thread will surely help other people too. for my part, the modd program 1st proposed did it perfectly with the 5.9 catalyst drivers... Don't know if they were IGP or whatever I just took the biggest file in Windows XP for RADEON... not like it there was a 1000 choices either. And I finaly played the FEAR demo and this game rocks! Thanks a lot guys. Uninstalling old drivers wouldn't have done bad but what's done was done and it worked, but next time I'll go for the cleaner install

Have you tried the newest release? I didn't have any problem with that. But I admit limiting my upload speed so I don't take too much bandwith in a month and end up paying for that. You should maybe do that else it will use the maximum speed it can to upload. Moreover, downloading always depends on the speed of the source, which can be sometimes very low.

Thanks, I tried it yesterday and unfortunately it didn't work for the same reason the other install didn't work either. So it kinda make me go back to my first question: how can we force install ati drivers so it doesnt check what hardware I have install?? At worst, how could someone install ati drivers on a system that does not even have an ati card? Cause I'm sure the normal catalyst drivers would work perfectly, they only added a "protection" so they would not have to support Dell users if there was any trouble with a new driver.

I tried it and it rocks!! Azareus was great but JavaW was taking lot of memory. Now everything is smooth and I have lot of free ram to run other progs

It is a laptop, inspiron 5150, but i'll give those mobility drivers a try...
