  1. Have you been able to determine which file version(s) you have installed? If so, you can download the installer and do a recovery install. Or try modified codec packs.
  2. In GPE go to this submenu: User Configuration\Administrative Templates\ Start Menu and Taskbar: Create a new value: Do not keep history of recently opened documents HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\ Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Explorer NoRecentDocsHistory REG_DWORD: 1 Remember that this is a per-user setting!
  3. I'm at home now. I will look into it for you. This afternoon I was at work.
  4. ;Task Scheduler Service (automatic) ;---------------------------------- If you can remember ;every task that needs to be done without help, disable this service. ; [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\Schedule] "Start"=dword:00000004 Do not switch off Task Scheduler. Windows Prefetch needs it to function properly.
  5. Sorry, I didn't read your post that carefully. Have you tried to open the .theme file with Notepad? There's a section that covers the [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\Desktop] key. Add or change the value if needed. Hope this helps.
  6. This was already mentioned a while ago: Visual Effects - Menu style option?
  7. The SendTo menu is known to be a resource hogger. When removed, loading speed of a context-menu is severely improved.
  8. I don't agree with you because someone doesn't have to know everything. It's a good question though
  9. @Cygnus You're right by saying that you need to figure things out. And by the time you've done that, you probably have made some changes to the visual appearance of the forum. I say again: don't worry because it's content (of the forum) that counts rather than the looks. Remember that!
  10. You don't bother anyone so don't worry about. You handled the job quite well. :thumbsup
  11. NP! Let your forum grow first. And that diplomat guy must first prove what he's worth. You're right! Good Luck!!
  12. May I may give you my honest opinion? Seems to me that this "diplomat" just wants to be in charge. And I think that he is pushing you (He made barely 10 posts!! and already starts asking!). If I were you I wouldn't trust him. If you want to give him a chance, I would say that he first should "earn" his place at your forum by making good contributions. Then if you're happy with it, ask him for the skins he has to offer. Make him a moderator or something but not an admin right away. I hope I've helped you.
  13. Another optionis to add a comment to the shutdown screen of shutdown.exe where you say that this shutdown procedure is something they don't have to worry about. They should start doing so when the comment field is blank. Just a suggestion though... shutdown.exe -t xx -c"This is an automated pc shutdown procedure set in motion by the system administrator. If this text is not displayed, save your data and warn the administrator." Just a suggestion though...
  14. CDBurnerXPPro is very small and lightweight.
  15. Funny thing is you'll never know unless they tell you beforehand. As for studying, Try to read globally. Also I wouldn't worry about the things you know. For the things you don't, read it and write short summaries about it (one or two sentences or so). I don't want to tell you how you should do this, I'm just making suggestions.
  16. Sometimes that's not an option. He stated twice that the systems need to rebooted. I think that says enough.
  17. I've shutdown prefetch for the software only. The bootup and that other thing is still intact. @sogo1: I should go with that if I were you.
  18. Or include Hitman, then you have the complete package.
  19. Step 1 First draw a table (manually) and divide it into three parts (roughly). - Then put your cursor in the left table. - Then increase the font size. Step 2 - Now put your bracket there. Do the same for the table to the right. Step 3 - Put your cursor in the middle of the table and type your text. Step 4 - To finish things off: select "No Edge" (see image). What you are doing is that you make the lines blank so you don't see them when it's printed but they're still there. Of course you must crop and resize the table as you see fit! There you go!
  20. give me a moment. I'll put up a guide for you.
