It's sort of a new install. 2 or 3 weeks old with no problems. I just uninstalled slysoft Virtual CloneDrive and some other stuff. Didn't help. I just tried starting windows in safe mode. Same problem.

No storage media apart from opticail drives appear in Disk Management.
Hard drives appear in my computer but not usb pen drive.
Every thing appears in device manager.
I use pen drive a lot.
What can i do?

You could try the dos floppy emulator e0x. I could't get it to work but I did't try very hard. I found this site

Have you tried right clicking on desktop/properties/appearance tab/advanced button. Its in the item pull down menu. Click on icon and change the size then ok apply.

You could try PeShutdown.exe. It was write WinPE but works on XP.

I can't get it to install without it asking for SCSI drivers. So I was thinking can the drivers be installed first?

I would put the batch file in
$OEM$\$Docs\All Users\Start Menu\Programs\Startup\ batch file
and add
DEL "%AllUsersProfile%\Start Menu\Programs\Startup\ batch file "
not it will start every time you boot.

Can the firefox silently installation files PREPARE.VBS and FUSRDATA.VBS be changed to work on thunderbird profile?

I got firefox too install by changing the setup file. I then used 7zip and then
copy /b 7zSD.sfx + config.txt + "Firefox Setup 1.0.1PR.7z" "FirefoxSetup.exe"
too make one files. Then I used PREPARE.VBS for the profile and it all works fine so can I do the same with Thunderbird. I changed the setup file but how do I do the profile.I think PREPARE.VBS would need changing but don't know what.

I think your right. Extension can't be installed with the config.ini but I can't ues the Step 2 way it's too big. I uesd n-lite to make windows setup smaller then added firefox and some stuff and the cd-r I am useing is a 210mb and the files come to 208-209.

I like the whole sfx archive thing but I still can't get the config.ini too install extensions.

I had the same problem. I removed the [Display] settings in winnt.sif and that worked for me.

No hard disks in Disk Management

I don't think is hidden partition. I booted the PC with the old hard drive and the disk management could see all the drives. While it was working i ran 2 antivirus and Microsoft Windows Malicious Software Removal Tool. The removal tool found something and removed it but it didn't fix the problem. And now when I search for something on google the links sometimes send me to http://maybeask.info/search.php and other sites I didn't want. I think its time to reinstall windows.
