  1. Ok, I did run into a problem. There is a yellow question mark by SM BUS CONTROLLER. Here's a pic of the Hardware ID. It looks the same as the Hard Drive. I only selected iaAHCI.inf for integration and I didn't integrate anything from iaStor.inf. Could that be the problem? I found out that I was missing intel chipset utility. Got if from dell website. Sorry to bother.
  2. Fernando 1, thanks for all the help. I'm on the other side. Man, windows xp installed like in 10 minutes...pretty insane. Everything worked properly. The only issue was that I wanted to remove Guest from user login and I now have to select my name in the logon screen. Where was I suppose to change that? I'm gonna create another disc with a few things added on. I just wanted to make sure it would work. Thanks again.
  3. I figured it out. I got the correct file that I needed. Thanks for all the help.
  4. I'm on unattended settings section and I was wondering if I should leave OEM install enabled? Also, I wanted to remove Guest but the remove button is grayed out.
  5. Yeah, just working on the components page now...gotta go through each section. I wish I had some cool hotfixes though. I only had a RVMupdate.
  6. I thought I read it somewhere. My mistake. I've been reading for about 4 hours now so the information is bound to get blurred, lol. Ok, I Just added Intel® ICH7R/DH SATA AHCI Controller. It's the only one I'm adding. Should I select "delete after install"?
  7. Hello, I thought the drivers here wouldn't work with a Dell OEM CD. I never even tried to download the drivers I'll give it a try and post back on the results. Thanks for your help Fernando 1.
  8. I have a Dell XPS Gen5. I don't know if I have southbridge chipset. I think it's Intel Chipset. The motherboard I have no idea about either. Here's the pic you requested.
  9. Hello, I've got a problem. I have a Dell XP SP2 disc which I want to slipstream SP3. My drive is not recognized when I try to install the nlite version. I'm unsure of what inf file I need. I located the txtsetup.oem on the windows xp SP2 disc and it's posted below. ; **************************************************************************** ; **************************************************************************** ; ** Filename: TxtSetup.OEM ; **************************************************************************** ; **************************************************************************** [Disks] disk1 = "Intel Matrix Storage Manager driver", iaStor.sys, \ [Defaults] scsi = iaStor_ICH7DH ;----------- Component Section ----------- [scsi] iaStor_ICH7DH = "Intel® 82801GR/GH SATA RAID Controller (Desktop ICH7R/DH)" iaAHCI_ICH7R = "Intel® 82801GR/GH SATA AHCI Controller (Desktop ICH7R/DH)" iaStor_ICH6R = "Intel® 82801FR SATA RAID Controller (Desktop ICH6R)" iaAHCI_ICH6R = "Intel® 82801FR SATA AHCI Controller (Desktop ICH6R)" ;------------------------------------------- [Files.scsi.iaStor_ICH7DH] driver = disk1, iaStor.sys, iaStor inf = disk1, iaStor.inf catalog = disk1, iaStor.cat [Files.scsi.iaAHCI_ICH7R] driver = disk1, iaStor.sys, iaStor inf = disk1, iaAHCI.inf catalog = disk1, iaAHCI.cat [Files.scsi.iaStor_ICH6R] driver = disk1, iaStor.sys, iaStor inf = disk1, iaStor.inf catalog = disk1, iaStor.cat [Files.scsi.iaAHCI_ICH6R] driver = disk1, iaStor.sys, iaStor inf = disk1, iaAHCI.inf catalog = disk1, iaAHCI.cat ;------------------------------------------- [Config.iaStor] value = "", tag, REG_DWORD, 1b value = "", ErrorControl, REG_DWORD, 1 value = "", Group, REG_SZ, "SCSI miniport" value = "", Start, REG_DWORD, 0 value = "", Type, REG_DWORD, 1 ;------------------------------------------------------- [HardwareIds.scsi.iaStor_ICH7DH] id = "PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_27C3&CC_0104","iaStor" [HardwareIds.scsi.iaAHCI_ICH7R] id = "PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_27C1&CC_0106","iaStor" [HardwareIds.scsi.iaStor_ICH6R] id = "PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_2652&CC_0104","iaStor" [HardwareIds.scsi.iaAHCI_ICH6R] id = "PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_2652&CC_0106","iaStor" Here's a pic of what driver it shows in Device Manager:
  10. No, it doesn't work for Dell OEM disc.
  11. JohnC, I don't know what drivers I need. That's what I don't understand. What inf file do I need so my HD will be recognized when I do a fresh install of Nlited windows xp. Remember, I have a Windows XP Sp2 OEM Dell disc.
  12. Image of the 82801GR\GH SATA ACHI Controller information. iastor.sys is listed as the driver file. Also when I was in BIOS I verified that "RAID autodetect/HCI" was selected.
  13. Hello, I misquoted. The OP information was copy/pasted from the txtsetup.oem file. I didn't notice that two of the .inf files listed above have the same name. So, according to that there are two .inf files listed. I went into BIOS and I have 4 listed PATA drives. The only one that I have anything installed on is PATA-0. It's A 320GB WD HD. WD3200AAKS-00B3a0. The driver files listed in the device manager for this HD are disk.sys and partmgr.sys Both iaStor.inf and iaAHCI.inf have listed in their file that they are INF Files for Intel® Matrix Storage Manager Driver I just looked at the txtsetup.oem file again and here's some the entire txt: ; **************************************************************************** ; **************************************************************************** ; ** Filename: TxtSetup.OEM ; **************************************************************************** ; **************************************************************************** [Disks] disk1 = "Intel Matrix Storage Manager driver", iaStor.sys, \ [Defaults] scsi = iaStor_ICH7DH ;----------- Component Section ----------- [scsi] iaStor_ICH7DH = "Intel® 82801GR/GH SATA RAID Controller (Desktop ICH7R/DH)" iaAHCI_ICH7R = "Intel® 82801GR/GH SATA AHCI Controller (Desktop ICH7R/DH)" iaStor_ICH6R = "Intel® 82801FR SATA RAID Controller (Desktop ICH6R)" iaAHCI_ICH6R = "Intel® 82801FR SATA AHCI Controller (Desktop ICH6R)" ;------------------------------------------- [Files.scsi.iaStor_ICH7DH] driver = disk1, iaStor.sys, iaStor inf = disk1, iaStor.inf catalog = disk1, iaStor.cat [Files.scsi.iaAHCI_ICH7R] driver = disk1, iaStor.sys, iaStor inf = disk1, iaAHCI.inf catalog = disk1, iaAHCI.cat [Files.scsi.iaStor_ICH6R] driver = disk1, iaStor.sys, iaStor inf = disk1, iaStor.inf catalog = disk1, iaStor.cat [Files.scsi.iaAHCI_ICH6R] driver = disk1, iaStor.sys, iaStor inf = disk1, iaAHCI.inf catalog = disk1, iaAHCI.cat ;------------------------------------------- [Config.iaStor] value = "", tag, REG_DWORD, 1b value = "", ErrorControl, REG_DWORD, 1 value = "", Group, REG_SZ, "SCSI miniport" value = "", Start, REG_DWORD, 0 value = "", Type, REG_DWORD, 1 ;------------------------------------------------------- [HardwareIds.scsi.iaStor_ICH7DH] id = "PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_27C3&CC_0104","iaStor" [HardwareIds.scsi.iaAHCI_ICH7R] id = "PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_27C1&CC_0106","iaStor" [HardwareIds.scsi.iaStor_ICH6R] id = "PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_2652&CC_0104","iaStor" [HardwareIds.scsi.iaAHCI_ICH6R] id = "PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_2652&CC_0106","iaStor"
  14. Ok, so that means to manually add the 2 INF files? Just wanting to confirm.
  15. Hello, I had a meltdown before and figured I'd stop trying to use Nlite but I'm back at it again. I've got a Dell XPS Gen5. I have a Dell Windows XP disc and an original Windows XP disc with serial number. When I get to selecting what drive to install windows on, all that shows up is "unknown disk". I need to know how to stop that from happening. I found the txtsetup.oem file and I'm wondering if all I have to do is slipstream the following inf files? [Files.scsi.iaStor_ICH7DH] driver = disk1, iaStor.sys, iaStor inf = disk1, iaStor.inf catalog = disk1, iaStor.cat [Files.scsi.iaAHCI_ICH7R] driver = disk1, iaStor.sys, iaStor inf = disk1, iaAHCI.inf catalog = disk1, iaAHCI.cat [Files.scsi.iaStor_ICH6R] driver = disk1, iaStor.sys, iaStor inf = disk1, iaStor.inf catalog = disk1, iaStor.cat [Files.scsi.iaAHCI_ICH6R] driver = disk1, iaStor.sys, iaStor inf = disk1, iaAHCI.inf catalog = disk1, iaAHCI.cat Do all I have to do to get the xp disc to install this time is to slipstream those 4 inf files? I do also have a windows XP disc but I tried installing that and it didn't find the Hard Drives either. P.s. I will never by an OEM machine again.
