  1. Is it possible to slipstream XP Pro with SP3 and take the Driver.CAB file and include or replace the Driver.CAB in a Slipstreamed SP2 build?
  2. Thanks, I am working with so many OS's I get confused. One other question, the .Net framework optimization usually runs a lot of processes (1.1 and 2 with patches) tried the silent net maker from TC as well as roguespears silent installer renamed to dotnet.exe and they both flag an error in the application log: .Net Runtime Optimization Service (cir_optimization_v2.0.50727_32)-Service reached limit of transient errors: Will shut down. Last error returned from service manager 0x800736b 1. Any insite?
  3. I am using the latest release and XP Pro. I noticed the build moves the Games folder from accessories to the main program menu? Is this on purpose?
  4. Hi TC, Just downloaded the program and followed the instructions. Worked great! When added to HFSLIP build everything ran fine and installed (used option 13). Got one error message in the XP Pro SP2 event log though: Description: .NET Runtime Optimization Service (clr_optimization_v2.0.50727_32) - Service reached limit of transient errors. Will shut down. Last error returned from Service Manager: 0x800736b1 Normally there is a long list of optimization events. The service seems to be running fine and flags no errors. Has anyone run into this before? Is there a way to verify everything is OK. Thanks!
  5. I have been searching the forums and have not been able to find an addon/switchless .Net framework v1.1 + v2 and v3. Does anyone one know of one that will work?
  6. While I use nLite to add my drivers, I have tried nlite reducing and would prefer to use HFSLIP. I have noticed that FDV and TommyP are having the same problems with the reducers in 2003 as I have with XP. I guess nobody has come up with a solution for XP or 2003 yet using HFSLIP without modified DLL's that disable Windows File Protection.
  7. I keep reading the HFCLEANUP resource and am confused, are the reducers in hfcleanup.zip FDV's or TommyP's? The doc's state if using FDV's fileset no modified DLL's are required. When using the reducers included in the hfcleanup.zip on XP Pro SP2, I am continually getting pop-ups complaining about files not being digitally signed (Microsoft Files) just testing the removal of games, which is why I am asking.
  8. I hope this is not off topic, but I am trying to find a CD/DVD burning package that does not come loaded with a lot of excess garbage. Things like Cover Creator or an MP3 ripper, I only want something that will write, read and format CD-R's CDRW's, DVD +-R, DVDRW to continue testing builds. Could someone offer any suggestions (searched Google) but would like input from the people here. After reading and posting I feel most will offer true info. If this is inappropriate for the forum, i apologize and request the moderator remove it. I currently use Nero.
  9. Tomcat, it sounds like the same issue I am having with XP in the topic "Reduction Sets and Windows File Protection".
  10. Yes, I read the readme. I was just asking if anyone else using those reducers has experienced the issue and found a solution. I plan to keep testing on XP and eventually 2003. I love the program and would like to contribute, since I am new to this it might take a bit, but eventually ....
  11. The only strange thing is during first logon and any other time new hardware (usb mem stick) or system software is recognized the OS tries to install the drivers or codexes and a pop-up displays saying the software is not Windows certified. Its MS software or drivers the system is asking to install. If I tell it to install anyway everything works and no complaints untill the next time. XP SP2 all patches, No modified system dlls except UXTHEME.DL_. Anyone seen this before?
  12. hope this helps ... OK, so can I use a modified SFCFILES.DLL to reduce the source, install, reboot into the recovery console, replace the modified SFCFILES.DLL with the MS one, rebuild the file list and enable WFP?
  13. I would like to remove certain files from my source only I want to keep WFP, it this possible?
  14. Builds HFSLIP_60617b and HFSLIP_60619b fail to replace applications if the WIN\SYSTEM32\DRIVERS folder structure exists. Currently have Calc.exe, Notepad.exe and Taskmgr.exe in HFEXPERT\APREPLACEMENT and they are not being replaced as before. The only changes made were to add the WIN\SYSTEM32\DRIVERS folder structure. Anyone else having an issue with this? Christ, my bad. I should check my spelling first. Misspelled the directory APPREPLACEMENT, forgot the second P. Sorry, could the moderator please remove this post.
