  2. Thanks for your prompt response. Thus I am not in a network, the matter is still unsolved. This is a home PC running Vista Ultimate with a Matrox Millennium G450 Dual Head DVI 16 MB graphic card. ¿Is the hardware thing relevant? Regards, SSA
  3. Hello everybody! I wonder why the Windows Media Center feature in Windows Vista Ultimate is not working. As you do click on the WMC icon at start menu, a message displays and shows more or less the following message: "A software restriction directive avoid Windows use of this feature, contact your system administrator" -is in spanish-; I guess it could be a hardware incompatibility, as the graphic card is a bit old and not support the aero feature also, but is just a supposition, please excuse my ignorance. I wonder if there are precedents or if anyone knows more about this case. If do so please answer this message, in order to find a solution I could share. Thanks in advance. Regards, SSA
  4. To whom it may concern, In the need of assistance about Outlook 2007 help guide language change -as in the help guide it is different from start page interface! Spanish (main and required) /Italian (help guide and willing to change to Spanish)- the suscriber express the following. How do I perform this task as in my PC the default language is alreday set to Spanish, and location is Uruguay -¡which is Spanish speaking too! Excuse my ignorance, and please try to help me. Thanks in advance. Sincerely, SSA
  5. i dont agree with it 7lite still needed like unattained already exist in vista and vlite got it *lite is always better for the user Hi, For rightfullness I should agree that Windows 7 OS will still need a 7Lite "support". For everyone good. And if someone that helped me in the past is reading please receive my humble thanks for all the support. Sincerely, SSA
  6. To whom it may concern, XPize seemed good but had no mercy with my OS files. I decided to check the XPize set up and remove the program after checking; and as the unistall option was runt I realized that some functionabilities of my OS was corrupted. I will explain in detail below. Some screens color back desk was changed and not removed. Some data was changed and not removed. Analize below. ¿What can one do to restore the configurations of the Help desk screen (Start>Help)? It use to have a blue back on the screen and now it is a white one instead. ¿Was registry not respected? ¿What can I do? ¿Which parameters should be restored? ¿What parameters should not be changed? I use to have a Sistem properties dialog box with grey back and correct version of my OS display; now I have a white one and old OS version stucked instead. Same as above mentioned questions. ¿What could have happened? New to computers I feel abused, it could have a nice look, but I do need a solution for this, and I also guess a bit that many more will share my need. Why to release a program that damage an OS and the hardware -as formating causes some damage- is another subject, but overall I wonder if you are taking this view to the next release. This humble comments please request for a serious and promt answer from your side; in order to restore my OS, or another concerning solution. Thanks in advance. Sincerely, SSA
  7. Dear John, ¡I am booting! I will do as told; now I had also visited Ryans place. Thanks for your precious time to all concerned. Regards, Rodney SSA
  8. I'm beginning to fear the same. Hey! ¿What's 7Lite? Would you mind answering, please? Thanks in advance. Regards, SSA
  9. Thank you; after burning my ISO, I am actually ¡¡¡booting!!! SSA
  10. To whom it may concern, I will try to answer the quoted paragraph, however I have basically two questions. This is how far I made: I got some files from a search I did in my PC, using a KB...X file and the search gave many files I have copied in a folder, and also typing the names from the Start>Control panel>Add/Remove programs Windows actualizations list. I guess there´s an error or something wrong with this procedure, because some "tutorials" I read said there were .txt files to copy in nLite for actualizations integration (http://www.letheonline.net/manualnlite.htm), and I found many different files formats for actualization found in the Add/Remove list -I am sure this is not the only file I downloaded fron th Windows update site, but there are few KB...XX... files in this text format. Below there is a pasted example of a 5KB text file from KB961118, but it is not the only format the search gave as there is another 9KB file for the KB961118 -for example- that says on its properties dialog box that it opens with Crypto extensions application, look for the abovementioned text file named KB961118.log: [KB961118.log] 1.906: ================================================================================ 1.906: 2009/02/24 21:15:43.656 (local) 1.906: C:\WINDOWS\SoftwareDistribution\Download\56f173519743089b5d285e7747238a07\update\update.exe (version 6.3.13.0) 1.906: Failed To Enable SE_SHUTDOWN_PRIVILEGE 1.922: Hotfix started with following command line: -q -z -er /ParentInfo:ef3cbfa844fa184c951055489dcd232e 1.922: In Function GetReleaseSet, line 1240, RegQueryValueEx failed with error 0x2 1.922: SP is Present 1.922: SOFTWARE\Microsoft\NET Framework Setup\NDP\v3.0\SP is Equal To Specified Value 1.922: Condition succeeded for section PreReq.NDP.SP2.IsPresent in Line 1 of PreRequisite 2.266: ---- Old Information In The Registry ------ 2.266: Source:C:\WINDOWS\system32\SETC.tmp (6.0.2900.5622) 2.266: Destination:C:\WINDOWS\system32\shell32.dll (6.0.2900.5512) 2.266: ---- New Information In The Registry ------ 2.266: Source:C:\WINDOWS\system32\SETC.tmp (6.0.2900.5622) 2.266: Destination:C:\WINDOWS\system32\shell32.dll (6.0.2900.5512) 2.297: In Function GetReleaseSet, line 1240, RegQueryValueEx failed with error 0x2 2.297: SetProductTypes: InfProductBuildType=BuildType.Sel 2.297: SetAltOsLoaderPath: No section uses DirId 65701; there are other files format. This is another example: "spuninst" in path C:\WINDOWS\$NtUninstallKB961118$\spuninst and there are many others. In order to allocate all the files, I tried to download the updates from Microsoft update web site page to a specific folder but it downloads them automatically to some location I don not know. ¿Can I search for them in other page of Microsoft? A detailed description of the procedure -including what, where and how to search for the actualization files to integrate-maybe is all I need; don't you think? -but this could be answered or shared by the true real advised only. I also make this concise question below to the same advised general public. Please someone answer the following request to this humble servant: ¿How one creates a Windows XP SP3 boot CD from a Windows XP SP2 boot CD? I tried using the ISO creation function -last option in list- in nLite but it did not work, the machine did not boot to install the OS (Windows XP SP3.) As I read in other post I have failed in burning the CD from the ISO -I extracted the ISO with PowerISO program and burned a CD with Nero7; I guess the boot files after that last extraction were not found to burn, am I wrong? Excuse my ignorance, please. Best regards, SSA
  11. To whom it may concern, Please someone answer the following request to this humble servant: ¿How one creates a Windows XP SP3 boot CD from a Windows XP SP2 boot CD? 12. To whom it may concern, Not in disregard -of the creator/s- I should say that some manuals are not much clear at the following subject: Service packs + updates. ¿Any one knows how to do the whole OS actualization -Service packs + updates- work in nLite? Thanks in advance. Sincerely, SSA
  13. Thank you. ¡I am doing now!... Well I did. It is not quite clear how to integrate the actualizations there, I did a search of KB... files and I have other files formats in the KB ... files folders in my computer; seem to have not much .exe at all as shown in the guide. I wonder if I am loosing something here... Another thing is that there are files that seems to fit not with the version of the programs to update and I do not know how to check this out in order to make it work. ¿Any one knows how to do the whole actualization work in nLite? Many thanks in advance. SSA
  14. Hello, With nLite program I made a installation package with all the Windows XP SP2 original installation files from a copy CD and succesfully integrated the SP3. I need to integrate also some critical updates and other actualizations -the KB... files. ¿Could someone right experienced please show me how can I do this? About the other capabilities of nLite I think I shall see later...Thanks in advance for any valid help. Best regards, SSA
