  1. Hey, It seems that you burned motor ic, Im almost sure that you connect motor when pcb was not stopped and gives voltage to motor. Thats why I told its was really stupid to disconnect it, you will not know when motor is powered and when not. Does drive making any sounds? (it can be really silent, just put ear on it and power on). Does drive says anything on terminal? Maybe something like this: Buzz Buzz Buzz if yes, it means that microprogram is trying to start motor but could not. Let me know. hm...... that's bad. But how did I do that?! It is really dissapointing cause I checked every connection twice but didn't get the right output in the terminal. Know I've damaged something. Data gone forever?! Greetz Jan
  2. Hi. Now I need help. My ST3500320AS doesn't spin on anymore. This evening I wanted to try this workaround (busy mode) again. But after connecting the hd to the powersupply nothing happened. In bios: 0MB, under OS X in the disk utility: 2 TB. ?! I don't know how to go on. It is still impossible to get the "F3 T>" output in the terminal, just a ">". Greetz Jason
  3. Hi. I had the arrow at first too even though I was sure I followed the terminal connections correctly; when flipped the terminals and completely removed the pcb there no problem. I want to mention I restarted hyperterminal-I didn't just flip the connections while hyperterminal was on. OK, I have the PCB off the HDA. I still get the Arrow but thats all I get now. Is this correct? Also thanks to the people that put this together but can you move your credit fight to another topic, some of us are still trying to figure this out and it's a b***h to read through the stuff for info and the who gets credit. You all get credit for this if this works! I still get only an arrow. Hm, is it right that I need a 5v-connection but not a 12v-molex-adapter? Thanks to everyone for helping dissapointed seagate-user. Greetz Jason
  4. I had the arrow at first too even though I was sure I followed the terminal connections correctly; when flipped the terminals and completely removed the pcb there no problem. I want to mention I restarted hyperterminal-I didn't just flip the connections while hyperterminal was on. Thx for your reply. I often flipped the terminals, can't even count how many times. Removed pcb, no afford. I only get one "arrow" in the terminal. Greetz Jan
  5. Hi. I got a new controller, same output in the terminal: just an arrow. Plz, can anyone help me? Thx Jason
  6. Hi. Thx for the solution of bringing the hd back to life. I just build a controller (http://www.pollin.de/shop/shop.php). In XP (using Mac OS X with XP in a VM) I can't excess the hd (ST3500320AS): What went wrong? Greetz Jason
