  1. the ONLY reason I'm busting this guys balls is because he has the approach of a used car salesman that's selling an unheard of car yeah, it all sounds good, but nobody gets a test drive because we don't appear smart enough to know what a good thing is. Therefore, we should all believe him just because he says so. As far as the demo, I'm not bothering because there's so many people who are so willing to screw up a machine, I'm not gonna get taken. If this product is as real and good as he says it is, there would be quite a stir in lots of IT departments. Sorry, I haven't heard it, and to tell the truth, I don't think he's doing a very good job of getting it started here. There's been lockdown software available for years, even the lousy tech school I went to had it. Plus, if this guy really does work for said company in that website, I doubt his boss knows of his promotional efforts, because like I've said before, a company that has a product so revolutionary wouldn't be coming on a forum to promote it without having a real plan and a decent way to demo it. LOL, I have all powerful software, but can only demo it to 3 people at a time, then later I'll be back to discuss it in depth with you when I've sold 3 b00ns on it simply by presenting a scripted demo where nothing can go wrong. so my analysis of this situation is: Lousy presentation Lousy sales skills Lousy website Probably Lousy software I say put up or shut up. If you really have the product, then deliver it, because for all the effort you've put into it here, you aren't going to sell a single company unless you can put software on the table.
  2. I don't think this guy gets it. I don't want to see his rigged demo, anyone who can only "show" how powerful his program is via live demo is a traveling salesman. Nooo, he won't let out any evaluation software, and maybe that's all the better. After all, we probably aren't smart enough to use it anyway Nah, I don't want any snakeoil, and we all know Washington buys crap all the time and pays way more than it's worth. Heck, I'll bet that software was protecting the millions of personal records that got hacked into at that credit card company
  3. well, it sounds so nice, but it's totally worthless info to me if I can't put it on a test machine so, get your company model updated along with your website and start marketing it. because if it's worth having, it's worth marketing. if not, then it's all hot air, go fly a ballon
  4. I'd be interested in knowing the command to create an iso file using CDIMAGE this is what I use for XP @echo off TITLE Creating ISO Image of Windows XP Professional ECHO. ECHO Removing any possible attributes set on D:\MS_OS\XPCDPROSP2 and its subfolders... attrib -R -H D:\MS_OS\XPCDPROSP2 /S /D ECHO. ECHO Creating ISO... CDIMAGE.EXE -lWXPFPP_EN -t12/31/2002,12:00:00 -h -j1 -m -bxpboot.img D:\MS_OS\XPCDPROSP2 D:\sp2WXPFPP_EN.ISO ECHO. PAUSE EXIT
  5. I'm a "white box" builder, who knows, maybe someday I'll be as big as Dell don't forget the little guys
  6. well, grisoft is starting out by offering a free version I think you guys need to get busy, and release one on your website so all these propellerheads can get out there and give some real word of mouth
  7. oooo, good idea. make your program delete pr0n too. that way the AV companies will hate you, and the pr0n industry will love you cuz all those sickos will have to download their fantasies again
  8. No, he's saying his software looks at the binary of every file to see if it's executable if so, his software locks it down. but like everyone else is saying, what if you WANT new software? I don't want a piece of security software that's going to screw me as much or more than help me oh, and btw, norton considers file writing to be activity, if a know virii is written or copied on a drive, it detects it. it doesn't sit waiting for it to be executed
  9. yeah, somebody tried this about 8 years ago, I wonder if this guy repackaged it and now is setting about trying to get rich now, about the software, what happens when you try to install new software? does it get blocked automatically? and lots of dll files are executable, imagine some poor n00b trying to install a new program with this AV software installed
  10. is it individual topic that you are subscribed to? then select topics instead of forums, that section tells you what threads you are subscribed to and you can deselect them from there
  11. I'll just sit here and watch the poor guy educate himself for a good while before he reformats
  12. yep, format and re-install otherwise all the crap in the windows registry will point to the F drive ever heard of more BSOD than you can imagine?
  13. the moral of this story is to always use the ATA133 standard untill those SATA guys get their crap together
  14. Always go with Asus well, almost they have built a bummer board with the A7v333, what a POS but that's gone at least a year ago I use Crucial ram, Asus boards and Maxtor drives almost exclusively
  15. I've had a different yet similar problem with an Asus board. Everything loaded nicely, but when I went to burn a DVD, the whole system would get gummy and barely run. I actually called Asus, and they had me change the memory timings. Slowing down the latency speed actually sped the computer up and made it very stable Dunno if that would help you or not, but at this point, looks like anything's worth a shot
  16. my guess is that the forum is a she devil that's why I can't stay away
  17. guess you can't have 667 without 666 party on
  18. sure, for music backup cd's can't ruin those friggin' expensive original ones
  19. if it's a netgear, do all the updates they have for your router (firmware) seems netgear has problems like that occasionally
  20. DVDRW all the way since newer version software and updates come out all the time, it's the only way to be
  21. nice work I busted my a** trying to convert all the codes and batch files to work from a floppy and now I'm the only one left using batch files

    music

Yeah, I finally got to listen to the Beethoven's Last Night. It isn't quite the beat the Christmas Eve And Other Stories is, but still very nice to listen to. I'll ask around and see if there's any Apocalyptica my buddies could loan me. I have some old fart friends, who knows what's in their attics
  23. my reason for saying to contact the ISP is you said you reinstalled windows already, and that didn't help that should mean it's not a local computer problem especially since all the other machines do work properly try putting another email account in outlook express, and see if that account can send attachments properly. if so, it's definetly an ISP problem
