hi IcemanND! i use your tool everytime i back-up drivers, esp for UA installation ... would there be a chance this great tool could get an update? thanks!
So where can I download it?

I have been there, but I didn't see anything like you describe.
You don't get "2 items exactly match your selections" and a "display result" link ?
I see two for Vista, but none for XP tat I haven't tried..

Now, if somebody could tell me where to find the network controller driver for my MX8711, I would greatly appreciate it. I have downloaded everyone I can find, but they just don't work.
Found the wireless here on Geteway's site and it says it' for 2K, XP and Vista.

I found a little program (much like nLite) and it installed my SATA driver on the first try. Me thinks nLite has a bug.
I am happy for you , but maybe if you post the name of (and possibly also a link to) this little program, someone else may benefit from your findings.
jaclaz
I was afraid nLite would get mad at me. The program does not allow you to edit Windows XP, but it will do an unattended install. I'll see if I still have it, or can figure out where I found it.

I hope I did that link correct.

You need to integrate textmode drivers for your sata controller (intel ICH7M).
Check the 1st post in the 2nd sticky.
No luck! Same problem. Still asks for my XP Pro CD. I tried the nVidia driver, but my driver is good, and I do use it in text mode.
I've downloaded SATA driver on the internet. This is definitely an nLite problem.
I'm going to go back to my original installation CD without any service packs slipstreamed to see what will happen.

Now I need your help.
I bought a Gateway laptop last year. I bought a new HD and installed XP (no problem). Now I have to install XP again. However, wheb\n I boot from the CD, it cannot find the SATA drive. I collected all the drivers from my current installation and did an nLite inluding the drivers. When I booted from the CD, it loads the files and then asks me for my XP Pro CD. It still doesn't recognize my SATA drive. What am I doing wrong?

Evidently a file was corrupt. I started from scratch. It finished without a problem. And, yes, I do always start with a clean set of files.

Actually, I didn't ask for help. I asked if anyone had seen this happen. I fixed it myself.

I haven't used nLite in a while. Everything has been good, but it's time to reinstall my OS.
I am trying to rebuild my CD for a fresh install. When nLite gets to "Integrating drivers", I see the "add files" going, but it just goes and goes and goes. I've restarted the process several times, but to no avail. Has anybody seen this?

Try using the "mkisofs" setting instead of "default" for the ISO engine. If that doesn't work, reinstall nLite.
Mkisofa worked!
Thanks

I am trying to create the ISO. I am not removing anything. I click "Bootable ISO" option. Everything works like normal, but I don't get the ISO. Help!

use the "New Thread" button, please don't hijack other threads.
How is this "hijacking"? They are talking about networking.

I've had this happen several times. I've solved it by rebuilding the ISO. Always use a clean source.

No such thing exists. This will have to do.
Yes it does. I just don't remember where I found it.

You are right, HOLLOW. I don't know how I ended up here. However, jcarle did answer my next question.

I now have a laptop. Do you know what I need to leave in, or change, to connect my laptop to my desktop through a ethernet crossover cable? All I want to do is transfer files.

Can anyone tell me how to hookup my laptop to my desktop through an ethernet cable? Or, if it can be done. I want to move files back and forth and utilize my printers and scanner on both systems.

Problem solved! Duh.
I had to install as an ACPI computer.

It seems you've removed both ACPI and APM. If so, then the OS has no means to turn itself off...
Where do I find these?
