  5. as i already said some extensions are associated with sub-classes. for example, if winamp is installed .mp3 files are associated to Winamp.file

  9. Desktop by NepaliDesktop by pS- Desktop by spenxa Desktop by mr.brownstone Desktop by harunaksoy These are to my taste the most beautiful desktops of April (denote I'm not a fan of Vista-like shots ). Hope people can help me to decide on May

  11. those are not icons those are bitmaps present on %WINDIR%\Resources\Themes\Luna\luna.msstyles
  12. this is how it should really look like: see the difference (note it's just an example so gradients are simply different):
  13. options: 1. res-hack shell32.dll, look for the icon and replace it. 2. use a command on a batch file similar to: REG ADD "HKCR\.txt\DefaultIcon" /VE /D "path\txtfile.ico" /f note: search for more info since some programs can modify the filetype
  14. you can use a batch (.cmd) file this way: REG ADD "HKLM\SOFTWARE\Classes\.bmp\DefaultIcon" /VE /D "path\bmpfile.ico" /F some extensions will link you to sub-classes, there's plenty of info on this same forum
  15. to me looks like there are missing quotes somewhere. look at error box, it can't find 'C:\Program' instead of 'C:\Program files'. make sure all paths are correct and using quotes
  16. some bmps at winntbbu don't have transparency (even with 32bits alpha-layered bitmaps) so... if it works for oemlogo it will work for any bitmap if the application supports it
  17. as promised here's a video featuring xgl and compiz on my desktop
  18. mine for this month (windows) i'll post my ubuntu desktop running xgl soon, maybe a video... will see
  19. i really enjoyed vista but now ... i've read so many critics ... vista is just everywhere and is not even released! everybody is trying to emulate vista visuals and i must say i'm really tired ... there were so much features that were finally removed from the dev process (aka winfs) ... all i can say is that i'll try the final version but i don't know if it will be installed much time ...
