  4. back to topic, as someone already said, it depends on your preference.for me ubuntu dapper
  5. what about if you ask on WPI section? and no, don't open a new post. just contact a supermod to move it there
  6. i guess not but anyway, you can run xpize-updater once you're logged in @XPero, looking nice buddy, hope to see you online soon lol
  7. i remember those, lol! good one
  8. good question... can't remember the regkey now but if you are able to change the background before login (this was a common regtweak before xp), you're fugly blue background will be replaced by a nice image
  9. the normal logonui simply doesn't support any animations (appart from fade-in/out) so i guess not. maybe a 3rd party app?
  10. just 1 thing... what about if you don't install on C: (aka first active partition)? answer is that you're setup will be screwed up on a second. just for people to be careful with this, be sure at the time of replacing boot.ini or even better, just use the command line tool provided by windows.
  11. good one, i was wondering the same sometime ago if i remember correctly it simply runs at the time ntoskrnl is displayed so it doesn't have anything to do kernel, boot.ini or whatever. a deeper explanation will be appreciated
  12. seems like a bug on WindowBlinds. are you running the latest WB and the latest versions of those themes? anyway GO button on explorer can be disabled without further issues
  13. http://unattended.msfn.org/unattended.xp/view/web/76/
  14. you don't need any program, just open regedit and dig on HKCR\
  15. http://unattended.msfn.org/unattended.xp/view/web/76/ basically patching the uxtheme.dll file with nlite, and placing your the theme on $OEM$\$$\Resources\Themes and modifying winnt.sif as you already described should do the job
  16. to be sincere i don't know any appart from stylebuilder. you can try a bit of reshacking on a .msstyles file, then edit the graphics present there
  17. http://www.tgtsoft.com/ stylexp + stylebuilder + a program to edit graphics
  18. yes, you can modify the objectbar theme, just find a good tutorial or search the net for themes that already include what you're looking for. about vista-windowblinds, my guess is that the langbar is simply not skinned on that theme, have you tried others? i can't help you much appart from what i already said, but... i think you can add shortcuts to switch between languages instead of using the language bar. maybe that would help you to get rid of your problems
  19. hope ur still there after 2 months... lol install objectdock silently, create a self-extracting archive to expand your theme on objecdock\themes folder. create a shortcut to objectdock on %username%\start menu\startup
  20. if you're good at PS you can create your own .msstyles.other ways... samurize, desktopx... even... avedesk?
  21. try regshot/regsnap to find the propper key, as you said, it must be stored somewhere
  22. lmao! @rpgcrazy, you've already been replied on this thread. please, don't open multiple topics to solve the same issue. thanks. [Closed.]
  23. i think that's not a msgina.dll file may a standalone app?
