EDIT: Sorry for wasting your time guys! Formatting your partition using NTFS and a clustersize above 4KB causes this error. I'm not sure wether this post belongs in the nForce RAID drivers integration thread or a seperate one. I hope this isn't a problem. I made various attempts to get my customised XP to work, but so far failed every time. I'm guessing it has to do with my RAID configuration + chipset. I'm using an eVGA nForce 680i mainboard with 2x320GB Seagate HDDs in RAID0. Everytime I try to install Windows XP I get the error Disk Read Error, press CTRL+ALT+DELETE to reboot right after the "DOS-like" setup is finished (one where you choose wich partition you want to install it to etc.) I have integrated the latest nVidia RAID drivers on my CD and SP3 aswell. Witouth the RAID drivers I get the error aswell, so it's a bit of a difficult problem. What I've done: - Deleted my old RAID Arrays and disconnected ALL drives, except the 2 320s - Created a new RAID0 Array with those 2 drives and set them as Boot - Used bootable Partition Magic CD to make 2 partitions on the volume, WINDOWSXP = 35GB and DATA01 = 575GB (Both primary, NTFS formatted, Clustersize = 8KB, NTFS version 3.1) - Inserted my custom XP CD made with nLite - Directed the installer to install Windows XP on the 35GB partition Ok from this point on Windows starts to copy the files to the HDD's and then reboots normally. Then when it tries to load the setup from the HDD I get the "Disk Read Error, press CTRL+ALT+DELETE to reboot" error. I'm a bit at a loss here as I have no clue as to what I might be doing wrong. I've tried both the drivers from the original Floppy Disk and the latest ones from the nVidia website. AFAIK there is nothing wrong with the original XP I used either. It's a fresh copy downloaded straight from MSDN (Windows XP Professional SP2 Retail Dutch). The image works fine on a Virtual Machine. I also looked on google to see if I could find anything, but wasn't able to find a working solution.
