  1. Assuming it's your home network (or is it a real work network - that would be different), in the Control Panel / User Accounts, under your user, click "Remove Your Password", log off and back on.

    Windows 7 that is...............

  2. After viewing this post I check TRACERT on my Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit installation.

    From my system, I selected IBM.COM just for the hell of it. It got there in 19 hops, but continued with the last 11 of the 30 available hops, timing out all the way

  3. Open Control Panel

    Select "Programs and Features"

    Select "Turn Windows Features On or Off" in the upper left hand corner

    In the window that appears go to "Services for NFS" and check the appropriate boxes.

    Hi Blekthor;

    I cannot find "Services for NFS" within Windows Features. Do I need to install something externally? I am using Windows 7 Home x64.

    Thanks in advance.

    sorry partner, it's not in Windows 7 Home - only in Ultimate and Enterprise

  4. My desk machine is Office 2002 my laptop is Office 2007. Is there any way to use pst files from 2007 to 2002?

    Thanks

    I don't think Outlook 2007 PST files are backward compatible with Outlook 2002. You would have to export to a comma separated file and then import into 2002.

    A PITA.

  5. You might try uninstalling the NIC and it's drivers and rebooting and letting Window 7 re-discover the NIC. I've seen this mentioned on a number of boards.

    Some have temporarily disabled Microsoft Security Essentials and then re-enabled in addition to the above.

  6. I have been getting a weird thing happening to me this last couple of weeks, I can guarantee its not a virus however if I try to move a file to another drive I get,

    Cannot move file. Says "Item Not Found Could not find this item Verify this item's location and try again."

    if I press try again it does it.

    Same thing happens when I go to delete a file I get

    Cannot delete file. Says "Item Not Found Could not find this item Verify this item's location and try again."

    however if I press the try again it works.

    I did read somewhere that this is a bug introduced by Microsoft via one of its updates, I can't get a fix for it anywhere, can anyone help me please

    I often had similar issues with terrible old Vista. I finally installed Unlocker 1.8.9 from this location.

    I haven't seen the same issues with Windows 7

  7. I'm still surprise that i couldn't find any answers yet about that main feature.

    So how to disable, nuke, remove Windows Resource Protection ?

    Just curious as to why you want to disable something that protects the registry, system files, etc.

    Not trying to accuse anyone of anything, but often some have tried this to bypass wga. :hello:

  8. Hi,

    Thanks alot for the information. I am still wondering the command line options to enable NFS service from Control Panel (which is discussed in the link provided by you).

    Appreciate your help on that.

    ---- Dinesh

    Open Control Panel

    Select "Programs and Features"

    Select "Turn Windows Features On or Off" in the upper left hand corner

    In the window that appears go to "Services for NFS" and check the appropriate boxes.

  9. You might see if this works.......

    Log on with an administrator account not guest or limited

    Create the following registry file

    ====================================================================================

    Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

    [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Control Panel]

    "Homepage"=dword:00000000

    ====================================================================================

    Note the blank line after "Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

    There must also be a blank line after the "Homepage" line

    Do NOT include the ================ lines.

    Save the file as a .REG file

    Right click on the file and select "Open With" and then select "Registry Editor"

    Answer the questions and that should do it.

    If you want to reverse this and re-LOCK the homepage, change the dword's last 0 to a 1

  10. That actually reminds me. I wish I could wholly replace my iPod with a cell phone with enough space to be a music player. I got my current phone (Samsung Juke) for this purpose but the audio quality is severely lacking. So once we start seeing some real cell phone music players come out that are easy to use, I can see your regular ipods kicking the bucket. Heck those kinds of phones might be out already but I haven't been able to try them.

    I think this might have the features you need and plenty of capacity too.
