  1. Hello everyone,

I got this problem with my pc, whenever i start a video file i can hear the the audio of it but the video wont move it comes as a pic and the program hangs along with the pc. i formatted the pc installed a new copy of windows installed the news codecs, used the mega codec pack, KM PLayer, the newest directX but the problem still exists.

    help is needed ppl

    Best Regards,,,

  2. No it isn't possile. I am very sorry to say.

See XP looks for and attaches itself to your hardware...

SO then when you switch pc's it refuses to work due to all of the differetn hardware.

It was possible back in the days of 98 but no it can't be done. (I believe it is part of MS'es anti-piracy works)

i can understand this, but i was talking about removable usb drives .. not fixed disks, ive seen and heared ppl using windows and installing it to their rmovable storage devices ... thats if the pc supports booting from usb, like mine.

its not like u are copying the whole operating system to the removable drive, u are doing a fresh new installation.

  3. hello every one,

I got an 80GB romovable hard drive and ive been trying to install windows xp on it, so i can use it whenever i connect it to any pc .... i've tried every way ... been through every guide i found on the net ... but no luck.

is there a way to do this or what? help is needed

    Best Regards all

  4. But when u start vlite it says [ select the version u want to edit ] , so it wont let me do the modification to all the versions. besides i want all the versions to be unattended. is there a way to do it
well I guess nuhi didnt think 'Save changes to all versions' option was necessary. You can do it anyway, just few more clicks:

start vlite -> select ultimate -> load preset -> apply -> select 'Save changes only'

restart vlite -> select home premium -> load preset -> apply -> select 'Save changes only'

restart vlite -> select business -> load preset -> apply -> select 'Save changes only'

    etc.

if you want *pop-up free* (unattended) installation, I dont know other way than this:

take copies of Autounattend.xml for each version and edit these lines for each xml-file:

    <Key>cd-key for that version here</Key>

<Value>version you want to install with that autoattended.xml</Value>

First i want to thank you PabloW for your help, ur the man :thumbup

Second, the problem with that is Autounattend.xml is saved to the root of the DVD, without being renamed to ultimateautounatteded for example. So when u try to save another one vlite says that there is one present leaving u with no options but replace or cancel.

so what do u think can solve this problem ... ?

thanx again for ur concern :blushing:

  5. You can have all version vlited just if you dont select "rebuild one" option.

If you are using unattended option, the fastest way to choose version (that will be automaticly installed) is to modify Autounattend.xml

just modify line: <Value>Windows Vista *******</Value> to <Value>Windows Vista ULTIMATE</Value> or <Value>Windows Vista BUSINESS</Value> etc.

But when u start vlite it says [ select the version u want to edit ] , so it wont let me do the modification to all the versions. besides i want all the versions to be unattended. is there a way to do it

  6. Hello all,

I have the all vestions of vista on a DVD, and i've been wondering how to use vlite to tweak and automate the installation of each version without the need to remove the other ones.

This is a legal DVD by the way ;)

    can anyone help ??

    Best Regards ,,,

  7. Why did you choose to read the part about Warez and respond to it but ignore the rest of the valid comments that are basically telling you that you're wrong.?

First of all, i respect all the members and their help and opinions ... all the replies give me a valuable information and help and i would like to thank all the guys who helped.

accusing me of looking for warez got me annoyed and i responeded to it, that's all.:blushing:

  8. as i said before ... i have this cd and i'm not looking to download it or ask for it ... it's only the idea that makes me wondering if we can do the same trick with all type of files , FIT MORE THAN 700MB OF DATA ON A CD.

the metioned cd can make standalone iso of the choosen version, if any one could write us a tutorial about how we can make this, coz i like to put my office installation packages on the same cd for an example

  9. It's impossible to fit that much data on a CDROM. Those "all in one" CDs where created with a special method using the CDIMAGE by Microsoft. Basically all the tool does is change the pointers inside the ISO structure to access the same files as if they where recorded in the directory structure several times but physically there's only one copy, or something like that. Windows versions share hundreds of binary identical files so this is how it's possible to "fit" Gigabytes of data on a CD. By the way, I think this subject is considered warez and it's against forum rules.

i'm arguing the concept, we are not looking for warez ... only the idea of fitting so much data on one cd

  10. hello,

We all know that a CD cant take more that 700mb of data and a DVD can take up to 9gb, but what if we can make a CD look like a DVD and can contain up to 4.5 gb of data  .

Some would think that i'm not being reasonbale, but believe me people i've seen it and i've got a cd that contains 9 versions of windows on it, and i've got another one with all office 2003 installation on it like office, frontpage, onenote, visio, project and the language pack too all on the same CD.

i've tryed to unpack the cd and i got a folder with about 3.2gb of data, while its only 700mb on the cd.

i tryed and searched on the web to figure this out, but no use ...

    can anyone help with this.

    Windows XP with SP3 9 in 1 | DVD ISO | 846 Mb | English

  11. That first error can also be from not adding a key root files like win51ip.SP3 or win51ip.SP2.

    What is the second question?

The win51ip.sp3 and win51ip.sp2 are present, the second Q was how can i add the dotnetfx and wpi folders to the root of the cd, so the installation doesnt ask my for the installation disk in drive A.

please refer to the image in my previous reply

  12. hi all,

i used nlite to patch the uxtheme.dll in windows SP3 5512, but still the extra themes i added are not recognized by the installation.

    any help with this

I have restored ALL styles in SP3 by means of TuneUp_Utilities_2007, no problems

I dont want to use an extra program to restore the themes, i want to select them from the apperance tab in proparities normally like if they are signed by windows. this was going fine with sp2.

  14. Ok, after alot of testing and alot of working to solve this problem i found that the winnt.sif worked fine  .

It turned out to be adding any folder of the following to the root of the CD makes the previously mentioned error:

    1. $oem$

    2. dontnetfx

    3. wpi

Things worked fine either on a fresh or an upgrade install with IE7 integrated. so now how can i fix this problem.

    i appreciate all the help.

  15. I did all the required patchs, and that didnt help. so i started another process and i've added some addons and removed some stuff and it worked under testing ( Parallels Workstation ).

I've tried to add wmp11 to the modified installation and the WMP11 Slipstreamer gave me errors, i've added IE7 and im doing the testing right now but from inside windows ( Upgrade ) maybe it will work.

I'm in need for help in the 2 matters, adding wmp11 and the unattended installation using winnt.sif coz i cant do the oem and wpi without using the unattended switch in winnt.sif

    I appreciate your help all.

    best regards,,,

this after i added the winnt.sif file

  16. hello everyone, i used nlite 1.4.5 final to add windows xp sp3 to my corporate version, and i've noticed that when i first boot up, the setup process asks me for the windows xp sp3 installation disk.

i tried and tried doing this many times and many ways .. the only way the installation worked fine is when i didnt add the winnt.sif file to the installation plus didnt slipstream any addons or IE7 or wmp11.

i also noticed that removing any thing like the languages or any other stuff that are safe to be removed cuases the same problem.

i got the final release of sp3.

please guys can anyone help about this
