  1. just saw this from ben.. amazing!

THIS IS THE SCREENSHOT OF CUSTOMIZED WINDOWS 7 PROFESSIONAL USING BETA 1.0.7 IN ADVANCED TASK MODE

    and also this!.

    http://i48.tinypic.com/2md59cp.jpg

Have you remove also the swap file? Is 32 or 64bit?

Why does he have the new build 1.0.7. available for download?

I think that the 1.0.7 is again a PRE beta so it is restricted to developeR's. Publish a tool in pre-beta would give an inadequate instrument and not optimized for newbie user. Better to wait at least a beta not you think?.

I'm not giving app specifically for developers or VIP's......I'm trying to fit the ISO for a CD....I almost brought the ISO down to 742MB....

  2. I really wonder what exactly causes the issues with components selected for removal still being present after processing. What I repeatedly have seen, both in v1.05 and v1.06, is that the following components don't get removed at all times when checked.

    Windows System Restore

    Autoplay

    ISO Burner

    Creative Labs Modem Driver

all should be removed.....which windows you tried to customize? 32 bit or 64 bit?

  3. After RT7Liting an image I got a decent build with a few minor mistakes like personalize menu not working properly and such, stuff I don't mind at all.

The one problem I have is this really annoying start menu object that wont go away, I removed "Help" from the component remover in RT7Lite so it is not installed.

The entry for it in "Customize" is not even there so I don't have a way to remove these.

So I am wondering if there is anyone who just happens to be a start menu wiz that wouldn't mind helping me out? :D

    37396893.png

    which build version ur using?

  4. Any idea what would cause this error? Quite odd considering I have windows 7 and this directory doesn't exist. Occurs right when the process is about to complete. Running RT 7 lite 1.0.6 on Win7 x64.

See the end of this message for details on invoking

just-in-time (JIT) debugging instead of this dialog box.

    ************** Exception Text **************

System.UnauthorizedAccessException: Access to the path 'Documents and Settings' is denied.

Did u opened the temporary folder during customization?...If directory was opened or registry editor was opened this will occur. But the image and other process will be saved successfully...

  5. I get an unhandled exception on pressing the 'Commit' button after selecting the features for removal.

    It says,

An invalid name request was made. The name requested cannot be retrieved at this time.

By the way, this is my first post guys, hello to all!

Did you installed wimmount driver from WAIK? Whats your host OS? Which version of rt 7 lite you are using?

  6. Hi ben,

i finally tried your tool. The first thing i noticed is that loading the image is very slow.

I think that loading the information from the image can be done alot faster maybe you can look at this.

Yes...actually in the beginning i used imagex and dism to mount....but from 1.0.5 i jumped to wimgapi.dll

In spanish version it tooks only 30 secs to complete the whole process but in English version but lots of loads, taking some 4 mins....I will check this. Thank you for testing friend...

  7. I did some adjustments...

    * You can now set priority level

    * Change start Menu ORB

    * Select logon screen in two ways either by selecting direct DLL or JPG.

    * Added two languages like Simplified Chinese and Traditional Chinese

    * Some minor errors are fixed

Could you please add the ability for the user to specify the location of whatever separately installed files/directories RT7Lite requires for operation? (WAIK, WAIK sub-components, dism, etc) It needs to be able to be set BEFORE RT7Lite is shown where the source OS files are.

I have fought with this error for almost a week now with no solution. WAIK-Win7 uninstalled/reinstalled, system32 & SysWOW64 dism directories copied from a separate Win7 x64 machine and used to replaced the ones on my machine. Nothing is working to get RT7Lite to run.

This is due to wimfltr.sys is registered not wimmount.sys...try installing wimmount.sys driver and restart your PC

  8. @bensam56

"First put all the updates in a folder not in partitions...DISM will not recognize as C:\KB******.msu

So it must be like this C:\updates\KB******.msu"

    Path is: D:\CustomFiles\Windows6.1-UpdatePack-x64

"I think you might understand....so first put all updates in a folder and try integrate"

This is not the problem because I can use DISM to integrate all as they are now without error. There are no white spaces in my paths, the updates path is only one folder deep, and, this is the only KB, just this one, that RT7 does not like. RT7 will integrate all the rest no problem and they are all in the same folder-almost 300 updates/msu's. It's a wierd error.

"Regarding that object variable error is fixed now...so no worries"

I'm not sure I understand "fixed now"; beta 1.0.6 is the only download, so, same program; do you mean will be "fixed" in next release?

Just wandering, I have three cabbed updates for DISM, RT7 does not show them; could this feature please be added in a future release?

    Thanks,

    Rick

hmmm...expected file not found in that package thats y it happened...Cab files are not supported. Another error is not fixed in 1.0.6 but its fixed in upcoming version....

  9. I cannot run this program; continue to get a similar exception error to Zumoc a few posts up; using 1.06.

    Regards,

    Rick

    same exception or different exception?

If you think that's different then put it here so that it will be helpful for me to correct it

First error: integrating hotfixes; for some reason RT7 just will not integrate Windows6.1-KB943790-x64, and this one only-in the same folder as all the rest, conventional, unmodified naming: HotfixIntegrationError.jpg

Second error: Unhandled Exception: Unhandled Exception.jpg, occurrs while removing Drivers from wim

    Regards,

    Rick

First put all the updates in a folder not in partitions...DISM will not recognize as C:\KB******.msu

So it must be like this C:\updates\KB******.msu

I think you might understand....so first put all updates in a folder and try integrate

Regarding that object variable error is fixed now...so no worries

  10. Well, beat me to death but a second pass on the previously trimmed down installation package couldn't get me any further; WMP and games are still present. Quite peculiar as no entries for both have been made by the application ( I selected both for removal though )

I don't know why its happening like that for you...Both the components is not listed in inf....But I'm very sure it will work.

  11. bensam, if this is new version of the 1.06 beta the wallpapers and screensaver are still not being set as default. plus i can not change themes with this version. i did apply the theme patch too

themes should work...and all things are working

not sure what happened then, i did virtual install and the wallpaper and screensaver were not set as default plus the theme would not change for some reason

Check here...I added the screenshot for themes, wallpaper and screensaver.....

    THEME CHANGED:

    10zwqyc.png

    v413rq.png

    WALLPAPER CHANGED:

    23ktgnr.png

    SCREENSAVER CHANGED:

    THEMES CAN BE CHANGED:

  12. also, i chose location for last session file to be saved and it did not do that. you also did not extend the startup sound length far enough.

What? Extend the startup sound length?

yes, there is option to change the sound and it has 10 second limit on it, the sound i want to use is little longer

Won't that slow down the boot-up process?

It will not slow down but it will hangup the explorer...recommended time secs is 0-1 secs
