  1. Ok, I'm stretching it a bit, but Moore's movie is almost exactly as accurate as Spiderman and Star Wars...there's a ton of fantasy...most of the movie. But with starwars, there are bases in physics which are glossed over with huge quantities of fiction, and in spiderman, there's nanotechnology, glossed over yet again with huge quantities of love story and fantasy. The same is true of Fahrenheit, there are facts buried in the petty, childish narration and liberal edit-and-splice techniques. Anyone who watches the movie should be looking at those, or enjoying a good comedy, not a documentary. Frankly, I'd like to see a similar "documedy" about Kerry. (I hate them both.)

I'm not sure DaLurker's explanation was entirely sufficient (entirely correct, yes).

To waffle can also mean to make things up on the fly for the sole purpose of making oneself look intelligent to others.

And as far as "more waffles than a house of pancakes," it refers to the fact that a pancake house serves many waffles and other assorted breakfast goodies (at least waffles are breakfast items here in the US). The assertion that he has more waffles than a house of pancakes implies that Kerry waffles excessively: Literally to the point of producing more "waffles" than an establishment whose only function is just that.

A bit more of an explanation than was needed for something so funny, bipartisan, and utterly true....but that's what I do best... :)

  3. Try retaining the download (temporary data) file, uninstalling, then reinstalling shareaza, and then placing that file back in the download directory.

Better yet, do a fresh install of shareaza on another computer, copy the file from the one that doesn't work over to the other computer, and then if it doesn't work, you still have the original.

    Best of luck.

  4. When you get this many extremely knowledgeable people together in the same place, where they can share that knowledge, and where they can also ask questions of the other members, you already have a valuable resource. When that resource makes respect a standard, not through rules, but through the general agreement of the people on the board, the end result is none other than....MSFN! :)

I only started posting a month ago because I realized that all the help I was getting anonymously from everyone was going unpaid. That's the general feeling people get when they come here: "They help me this much, why not add my own bits of knowledge to the whole?" And suddenly you end up with the definitive source of information on a host of different subjects, contributed by people who actually know what they're talking about.

    *suddenly feels meager post count...*

    Google's got nothing on MSFN!

And thanks for all your contributions, Prathapml, and everyone else on the board!

  5. BTW those USB "Thumb drives, Flash drives, Memory keys..." whatever you want to call them are/can be bootable as long as your bios will support booting to USB.

I've tried that, though unsuccessfully (my bios supports it). How'd you manage it?

    Oh, and Zip disks: :)

They're expensive (both the drive and the media) and almost no one uses them anymore.

  6. ps: i'm curious, how many € are 4000sek??

I'd like to know also. (Guess I'll just have to convert € to dollars afterwards...)

Your computer looks good, though I agree with Simon: you should go with the Athlon XP 2500+, and definitely get a different graphics card. Other than that, it looks like a good machine all around. Nothing particularly spectacular, but impressive nonetheless.
