  1. Thing is ! If you bought it ? then it's your own fault . If it was given then it's not ! Read and learn . Build your own.you already have a box. I have read the same post 1000 x with dell.
  2. Why ? is what I want to no .Thats crazy even considering it ? Specially with XP!.
  3. Thats a nice PSU for a video card .lol really .Not alot of choices out there either for anyting bigger than a 350 ! You can never go to big for a PSU (passive) except tho don't make them .lol Antec has one 500 watt ,check it out . http://www.antec.com/us/productDetails.php?ProdID=24500
  4. So you still went for a snap down type heatsink ? O well .good luck with that .
  5. Voltage can be applied to max or just under for much longer periods than most people think. If you are going to O/C then you must take advantage of this ! Period . You need to find the spec. on your chip for voltage max ,and use that . Also the concept of (I will not stress the chip cause I don't want to break it ) Is like buying a Mustang and never smoking the tire's .lol 9x out of 10 you will upgrade your system or your chip before you ever do any damage ,they can take a little more abuse than you think . Below is a 2nd system that I put together in early 2004 ! . And as you see it runs at 1.65v @ 2803 ,is pretty good ha for a 3400+mobile ! . The cool thing is ! It's been at those voltages for 3 yrs. straight ! I run mobo chipset at 1.70v ,ram @ 3.0v and AGP @ 1.60v (I have 5 120mm fans that all run silently) and a low speed 80mm fan on my G Skill ram . Most people have already upgraded one year to almost two,on a new system .! Thats what the fun about O/C is all about . 754 -3400+ CG Mobile @ x11_2803Mhz = 255, 1.65v . QS rating 4525+ Rev. 6. Alucke, I also have a 3400+ and run Vista on a 754 ,I had a Modded XP-90 (that i did myself ) then went for the Big Typhoon, both with AS5 torqued the B/T down 3 times to snug it up ,and still could not get the temps that I was getting with the XP-90 that I modded (vista rtm ultimate 39c at Idle ) with speed fan ,and core temp I have never seen the 3400+ mobile get over 45c ! yea that right .Also both heat sinks are installed by thumb screws, no pressure poping on like yours, specially with a lidless chip ,also my runs 24/7 at 2803Mhz @11x multi. not bad ha > for your chip you need a thumbscrew type heatsink . 754 -3400+ CG Mobile @ x11_2803Mhz = 255, 1.57v . 7. I think the ( cool the H/D thing is major BS ) Cause ,for one I have tested them every way but loose ! I have at the moment 3 Maxtor (6L300R00's ) 300GB drives sooo close ,I bet you could not stick a paper in-between them running almost 24/7 Inverted upside down for 27 months now (and guess what shure they get hot .lol) But if you have good voltage and a great Power Supply ,I would never worry about it ,and I guess I have about 25 H/D that I don't use anymore from every manufacture (Segate,Western Digital,Maxtor ) no failures ever ....You no why ..They get great voltage ,not cooling. I use a seperate P/S for H/D's ,Now people are doing that for video cards ,I have used this tecnique since the mid 90's on H/D's and has always worked and never lost any data.

Yea beta was closed awhile back ! Itis coming out same time as UT2007 . This is going to be the game that BF2142 should have been ,but not even close ! This will also kill UT2007 sales for shure ,There is so much you can do inside of it. Can't wait . Site: http://www.enemyterritory.com/main.html Video: http://www.enemyterritory.com/main.html Also it is Multiplayer only ,and there is no single player .
  9. Quote from Nvidia: Due to rigorous testing requirements to ensure stability and optimal performance, Vista drivers for GeForce cards are still in QA. Our driver team and test labs must ensure compatibility across multiple platforms and hundreds of applications, a process that takes several weeks to complete. Please keep in mind that Windows Vista will not be available to end-users until the end of January. We'd like to assure you that Vista drivers for the GeForce cards will be available to download when Vista ships to end users at the end of January. I have installed Forceware 81.97 and have high FPS.
  10. Also when you go from 2000 to XP (you are always most assuredly upgrading, not the later) LOL .
  11. I no ,since XP came to be ! acceleration has been a problem .But this adjustment in the regedit has always proven to give the poor mouse back what it needed . Permanent Acceleration Fix for XP_Home & PRO: It seems that even without pointer precision disabled, the mouse under XP is still influenced by an acceleration curve. This is especially noticeable in games. To completely remove mouse acceleration from XP, you will need to go into the registry and adjust the Smoothmouse X Y Curve values. Here is how its done. 1. Click Start button 2. Select Run 3. Type 'regedit' in the open textbox 4. Open the tree 'HKEY_CURRENT_USER', select control panel, then select mouse 5. Right clicking, modify the SmoothMouseXCurve and SmoothMouseYCurve hexidecimal values to the following: SmoothMouseXCurve: 00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00 00,a0,00,00,00,00,00,00 00,40,01,00,00,00,00,00 00,80,02,00,00,00,00,00 00,00,05,00,00,00,00,00 SmoothMouseYCurve: 00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00 66,a6,02,00,00,00,00,00 cd,4c,05,00,00,00,00,00 a0,99,0a,00,00,00,00,00 38,33,15,00,00,00,00,00 If done correctly, you will notice you are holding a markedly more responsive mouse.
  12. I force crashes (love them )BSOD's the whole nine yards. Overclocking ( I have 27 DRAM settings ) that I just can't help playing around with on my DFI mobo. Sometimes I just let it go for awhile ,But most crashes are user inflicted. I have XP_PRO_SP2 ,and Vista_RC2_5744_x86 with all updates, and both are rock solid .
  13. I do 1-3 months also ! And thats with alot of tinkering. But re-install is quick and painless .
  14. I'd say you could find that here, and a few other versions. 3rd one down on that page is the one you are showing. http://www.crystalxp.net/galerie/en.cat.3.htm
