Hi jaclaz, you again smartly (joking) mixing things: Free Hoby Time is a general trouble all developers have, not related to what you write. Projects already have easiest accessibility with all ways. It is already Simple to access all available features for the ones who knows how to use checkboxes. As a Natural result of success, there are already copies of projects through internet distributed by individuals with their own settings, adviced by others, all opposite to what bhplt and you jaclaz wrote. Hi bphlpt, We have largest group to involve on pe projects without advertisements etc. with development curve to better (not circle), whoever you take info or impression better you refresh or reconsider your sources. jaclaz suggestions are old news which all achived as written previously by me and Atari800XL, generally jaclaz miss inspecting first and than critic, instead prefer writing same critics from same sheet following own agenda of posting goals, since lots of years I know jaclaz same... better he shows us how to do things in his own way with own development so we can understand and compare (joking ). You are welcome to create a tutorial for noobs, Our experience shows since even a noob can run projects easly and learn how to make adjustments in some short days, they do not create tutorials at the end of the day. Maybe you will be the first noob doing such thing for other noobs after many years. Hi jaclaz, there is no such issues .... as Atari800XL indicated, presets mostly available through modularity. you can create your own bare, smallest etc. PE easly with nt6x standart PE creation way by deleting files from standart boot.wim , which is out of our concerns, delete button is there waiting for you. I am sure you can create such bare, smallest etc. pe with a nice tutorial and a nice batch, rd /s /q .... mountpoint idea already there, with mounting .iso via imdisk available with mountPEmedia for both all SE and Gena http://theoven.org/index.php?topic=346 past experience with Gena WimPack shows mounting .wim not gone popular, still Apps\System Tools\"Portable Finder CMD" http://theoven.org/index.php?topic=370 plugin available at all projects for someone who like to mount .wim, .vhd etc. for such portable organisation, side by side with "Include files in ISO RootCD" option on ALL Finals plugins. as I had written, there is not such issues. We already have experiences from past and still dealing with real issues that takes our interest and available time, thanks to people who not only fill posts but also contribute to projects

BIG Thanks to The Great ChrisR making Good decisions for stable builds, continuing development all these years with innovations, researches, developments, fixes with stability at root. * Well, I use this workaround to workaround winbuilder bug, later I create another faster workaround for winbuilder bug for some specific cases after figuring out more.. shortly I use dirmove with workaround when possible, if not than what I do what you wrote for "small size". For such huge folder (\Windows\) , "copy+ Than rd" is not a solution, it is too big and will take a loooot time even with any fastest copy tool.. "Moving directory" as concept only changes address of files/folder on file table, which naturally makes it ultra fast and confortable, especially for above case/goal of postconfig... I do not know what happens in "dism driver integration failure case", as I wrote if move success with an empty sourcedir, than: move with erroroff (not copy+), check sourcedir exists/size (if 0 success) and rd sourcedir ---> would be quite nice and easy to implement. Requires gotenks98 prodiving error creating reproducable drivers + your time -> to be sure and implement or if not to think what to do next .... better to talk about things on table instead of empty air when it comes

@ Atari800XL It has been long while I last played with sysprep (years .. ) , I do not remember now, but I know an expert, Galapo Galapo made "OfflineSysPrep" plugin available at Gena, (\Gena\Apps\System Tools\Windows Setup\"OfflineSysPrep") by defination: =For sysprepping a Windows XP or 2003 partition that is hardware independent. after "sysprepping", it would be all end user choice to save/restore as an image via ghost, any wim tool, vhd etc. or just pack (zip, 7z) After playing with "OfflineSysPrep" plugin you can ask further questions to Galapo around here http://TheOven.org/index.php?board=13.0 B)

Ghost 11.5 cause such a warning by explorer taskbar when taking/restoring images, tested on Gena , well better say: using and experiencing for years now.... The Sense part of "Pagefile on RAMDisk" to me is: whatever windows use pagefile for, better not to speed down, with the idea in mind "computer tasks always work with lowest step speed" (same with Chemical Reactions, Chemistry 1-2 - http://chemistry.about.com/od/stoichiometry/a/reactionrate.htm ) Generally, Read speed of hd is quite high these days, no need to :> , will not be noticable for most, For tests: You can only notice when you read and write on hd for a task (use different hd for tests ) ex: put 500 MB file to ramdisk, create an iso on hd (I use this trick time to time for many years now, but time to time due to low ram I have ) on other hand, using files individually (one by one etc.) you will notice no difference --> (this seems to me more pagefile case, but who knows...) PhotoShop 5.5 do not work without page file check ps55try.exe (available at adobe ftp) (and I know, nobody uses it anymore ) Ghost 11.5 complains about low memory without page file, besides my tests shows no trouble with/without pagefile. Other things I can not remember, years past from my last trial .. But my impression was: some programs (or bad programmers) do not think about available ram provided by user aside Windows apps naturally aware so there is no trouble setting pagefile to none if you do not fill windows with lots of apps.... (virtual tests ) In very past I also disabled pagefile, but than I decided to set it on 2nd hd, Well, If I had 16 GB Ram (Current 2 GB ), I would reserve some of them for pagefile with ramdisk, probably with Gavotte RamDisk to forget anything about pagefile.... it is possible to change keyboard, and regional settings, how hard would be depending on language in case... it can be quite harder to change language fully dpeending on language in case..... you do not need to mess with such language tasks, you can create your, what you call "XP wim image" with Gena ( what we call WimBoot ), by simply selecting the XP source of language in case, and providing required files for WimBoot Gena: http://theoven.org/index.php?board=7.0

Thanks a lot JFX, Knowing such a power tool at hand is quite enjoyable to me, Although I've never got chance to use myself ( using same windows since 2007 :> , and it still works very well) I will have a chance some months later to install w7 (as a 2nd os :>) @Atari800XL ufd boot problems differs, up to main reason bios (long story, shortly bios fails to identify ufd as disk but as floppy), and to workaround (if possible, up to bios) a set of ways exists..... Workarounds I know: using small sized ufd, (wimb already mentioned) using 2 partitioned ufd, using grub4dos mbr OR nt5x mbr OR nt6x mbr (my personal experience, ntldr5x mbr caused trouble on my old hardwares, grubdos works, but I remember I had read opposite results too ) having boot file (grldr-ntldr whatever) close to disk map (I personally copy these files first to achive this, I am not sure but there was a size limit for that, maybe on cd or also on disk...)...... check bios settings and update bios if possible..... and of course, using usb-harddisk (this should solve and even better of course, using usb-cd (I use my dvdw this way with a box (converter) more than five years now) none of both good for vallet ps: converting ufd to cd (by using ufd chip settings) does not help solving this problem, I personally tested... ps: if there is a solution of booting ufd first as floppy than doing things on dos, maybe grbldr.exe forcing floppy to disk, I do not know My general personal solution that works so far good is (with 4gb kingston): preparing ufd disk with bootice using grld mbr option and double partition (1 of them very small). (made a newbie tutorial for that on Gena ufd prepare besides I do not think you are newbie ) for usb1.1 case: try your chance using different usb-slots, sometimes one of them works with 1.1. and other with 2.0 (I believe manufacturer going cheap with assuming 1.1 is for keyboard/mouse ) or maybe starts 1.1 at boot time (whatever...) There is also plop http://www.plop.at/ that forces ufd work with 2.0 speed at boottime, my personal choice so far is, starting plob from grub4dos and get back to grub4dos menu and boot from other stuff, still I did not have a chance to test this on a real hardware that fails that way..... That is nearly all I know, which may help or not
