  1. I am having a problem adding computers to the domain. It started about a week ago. When i try to add the computer to the domain my lan disconnects and throws an error domain controller unavailable. If I give the computer a static IP i can add it. Anyone have any ideas? This happens every I try and add a pc. Could it be dhcp errors? Any help would be great!!

    Thanks.

  2. Hi, this is kind of a werid question, I would like to host a printer on a pc and have that pc as act a printer server for this printer (printer is no network capable), I would also like another print server to share this printer because printers are added thru a webpage. How do i get this printer to list in the directory of the print server. I have added the printer to the print server and it is shared and listed in the directory but i cannot see the printer.

    If you need more clarifications

    please let me know.

    Thanks

  5. When i boot a machine xp loads then i get to the blue screen of "windows is loading" is takes a good 5 mintues to load

This machine is a powerful machine, so being underpowered in the not problem

i ran dell memory check everything seemed fine

booted with safe mode and did the same thing (take forever to load)

    any suggestions?

  6. If you can define that printer as a local printer, it will be available to all accounts. Obviously you need to be admin to do it and to define the new local port (by it's IP for instance).

I added the printer to the admin account, how would i make it so the rest of the users can see it?

  7. Thank you for the reply. Ive been googling and i only really see alot from the server side. You said they are profile based.. Is there a way i could add the printer to the default user? And anyone who logs into that pc would get that printer?

    or another solution?

  8. The first one is no good. I need to use the recovery partition because it is specifically for the company im working for so there is no way i can recreate the one already on the drive. It comes from the factory like that. :hello:

  9. Sorry Ill try this again

I loading software and all my setting onto a pc to put on other computers,

I am using imagex to capture and deploy the image

If i dont delete the recovery partition the image will not load.

It comes with with the error hal.dll is missing.

If i delete the recovery partition it seems to work fine

partition 1 is hidden and that is the recovery partition

parititon 2 is where the os is located.

does that make a little more sense?

  10. Hi, My first post here looking for an answer hopefully you guys can help me.

I'm imaging dell pcs with a recovery partition. Is there a way to not blow that partition away?

The only way i have found to work is if i blow the recovery partition away and blow away the existing partition and create a new partition then format it and apply the image.

    I am using imagex

Here are the steps i have been taking

    boot into imagex

    disk part

    blow both exsiting partitions away

    exit diskpart

    format c:

    apply image

    reboot

    sysprep is run

    everything works.

my goal is to keep the recovery partition

    any ideas?

    Thanks
