  1. As you might have seen from my other posts, I am converting my CDShell over to Grub4Dos. I know it kind of figures, but I have a new issue I can not figure out. I am trying to get my BartPE to run. Here is the original command I had in my CDShell In Grub4Dos, I have tried using "chainloader /bootsect.bin", and it just comes up with the error in the screenshot. What am I doing wrong, and how can I make just work? M
  2. do you want it to go to a DOS prompt, or use the CDShell command? If you want it to go to DOS, then you need it to point to a dos bootable image. If you want CDShell prompt, then try this:
  3. K, thought I figured it out, but I didnt. Daft as a doornail I tell ya.
  4. Yes, it is a lot like the parameters for bcdw. Just looking to see what command layout I would need to use within Grub4Dos to make that work easily. Or is there a module out there that will allow me to use bcdw within Grub4Dos as a kernel? Just a thought, really, and would make my converting the commands even easier. Just sometimes I feel daft as to what I am trying to do here.
  5. I would add it, but I have other utilities that use the freedos.img file to boot from using their own bat script. Just looking for an easy way to get them all moved, and not have to create a whole bunch of floppy images (did this to save space).
  6. So I decided to take the plunge and convert my CDShell loader and scripts to Grub4Dos. Easier than I thought (dont know what I was afraid of), but I have run into a snag. On a couple of my floppy images, I call a floppy image, and then a batch file. How can I do this in Grub4Dos My current/old CDShell script: Here is an example of what I am using for just regular floppy images in my Grub4Dos config: Thanks in advance, M
  7. Sorry, should have been more clear. The hacked boot sector. The .mbr did not work for me, and I tried that one first since it seemed easiest. Once I did it, I realized the other one was the easier. Thanks again, M
  8. Worked like a charm. Thanks for the assistance.
  9. Thanks for the help, and once you gave me that, it made perfect sense... However, when I try to run the command to load grldr from my CDShell, I get this error: Error: File cannot be larger than 64kb. The file grldr has an out of the box size of 210kb. The command I am using is: chain \grub\grldr The Grub4Dos files are on the same CD as the CDShell. What am I missing?
  10. I have a multibood cd that runs with CDShell. I am adding a few applications that I can not get to work with CDShell, but have been able to get to work with Grub4Dos. I do not have time to convert the whole layout at the moment. However, is it possible to have the CDShell load a Grub4Dos menu setup, and if so, how can I go about adding it to my CDShell script? Thanks in advance, M
  11. I was wondering if anyone is going to update the list? If not, does anyone know where I might find a list of all the Windows Updates for Vista, with their release date? Thanks M
  12. Thanks... the 2000, 2003, xp one is perfect. The Vista one looks a little out of date though
  13. Is there a site out there someplace (besides WindowsUpdate.microsoft.com) that has a complete listing of all of the Windows Updates? I am looking for listings with release dates, for Windows 2000, 2003, XP and Vista. Any help you can provide me with would be greatly appreciated. M
