  1. WoW Lois! What is this option? [DiskConfig] Disk1="Disk1.config" [Disk1.config] Size1="*" PartitionType1="primary" FileSystem1="ntfs" Quickformat1="yes" Can I use it to create and format 4 partitions?
  2. Lois, What kind of key do you have? if you have an OEM key you cannot use this switch /sn=xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx and you should put your key in a .reg file Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00 [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Ahead\Nero - Burning Rom\Info] "User"="Something" "Company"="Something" "Serial6"="xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx" and call this file before your installation of nero (example with RunOnceEx.cmd) REG ADD %KEY%\001 /VE /D "Nero Burning ROM 6.6.0.0" /f REG ADD %KEY%\001 /V 1 /D "REGEDIT /S %systemdrive%\install\Applications\Nero\register.reg" /f REG ADD %KEY%\001 /V 2 /D "%systemdrive%\install\Applications\Nero\nero.exe /silent /noreboot /no_ui" /f
  3. Lois, don't answer me to look around the forum because I already did! I decided to change my way of installing Adobe Acrobat Reader 6.0.1 (French) Why? Because I can save more than 10Mb on my CD. Before I used the following with RunOnceEx: REG ADD %KEY%\004 /VE /D "Adobe Reader 6.0.1" /f REG ADD %KEY%\004 /V 1 /D "%systemdrive%\install\Applications\AdobeReader\AR6.msi /qn" /f Now, I want to do it the other way I found on the forum: AdobeReader6.exe -p"-s /v\"/qn\"" EVERY examples I saw came from a batch file and since I am using RunOnceEx, I need to add an extra " All I want to know is where it should be? like this? (after .exe) REG ADD %KEY%\003 /V 1 /D "%systemdrive%\install\Applications\AdobeReader\AdobeReader6.exe" -p"-s /v\"/qn\"" /f I've already tried this way but it doesn't work: (after everything) REG ADD %KEY%\003 /V 1 /D "%systemdrive%\install\Applications\AdobeReader\AdobeReader6.exe -p"-s /v\"/qn\""" /f
  4. Well, according to my readings, I don't think it is possible either...
  5. This is a quite complicated procedure... maybe you can use my technique described here: http://www.msfn.org/board/index.php?showtopic=31295 I don't know if this works with CDShell but my project created with EasyBoot works perfectly!
  6. Humm... Lois! Price are dropping fast... 1Gb under 100$ I wonder if it is possible to do a Multi-Boot USB flash drive?
  7. I'm still brainstorming on this one and I got another idea. Since I am using the "optimise" option, I can duplicate my I386 folder, remove my Winnt.sif file and then leave it visible (not using the hide option in UltraISO) so when somebody is looking at the content of the my CDs, he'll see the "normal" content of a XP CD without the $OEM$ folder. I think this way, somebody looking at the content of the CD will not be suspicious about the fact there is Hidden stuff on it...
  8. Well you should know that if you follow the guide, you'll increase the size of the installation: Admin Install Point = about 671Mb (with SP1 slipstreamed) Normal Installation = about 388Mb (files copied from CD) You can still do an Unattended installation (MST file) without an Admin Install Point...
  9. There is a lot of people playing around with custom theme and yes, you have to hack some files in order to do it. There is even a section on this forum devoted to Visual Styles, you should take a look at it. Cheers!
  10. Here is a part of the answer: 1) One way of doing it is to go into Display Property where you can ajust the Wallpaper, Screensaver, etc. Return to the Theme tab and select Save as... Next, put this custom .theme file in \$OEM$\$$\Resources\Themes Next you'll add this to your Winnt.sif [Shell] CustomDefaultThemeFile="%WinDir%\Resources\Themes\xxx.theme" 2) don't install AOL, this should clear your problem... just kidding
  11. Maybe you should try without CDIMAGE and generate the boot DVD with Nero as I indicated...
  12. Like alanoll said, you should leave the option in Nero by default if you are burning a boot ISO
  13. Yep, you can use Nero ImageDrive too P.S. theses options are not the one by default when creating a boot CD with Nero
  14. First off you should make sure you are using a correct boot image. Download HERE Next thing is to make sure that you set theses options correctly in the Boot section of NERO Lastly, your boot sequence should put the CD-ROM drive first in the BIOS
  15. If you want a permanent installation of the recovery console (option during the boot process of Windows) you'll need to install it manually from this folder. It doesn't install automatically!
  16. I can't remember how I extracted exactly... I think you have to start the installation process and there is a temporary folder somewhere like %systemroot%\Cache\Adobe Reader 6\ and you can get the 2 files from there (don't cancel the setup until you get thoses files) but I don't remember if I used a switch on the .exe On the other hand, I just downloaded Adobe Reader 6.0.1 Full version and there is 10Mo less than my method... so I will try to install with the silent switch HERE
  17. humm sorry about that. I didn't understand your question correctly! I tought you where talking about enhanced resolution... in fact you want to have BIGGER text? One way of doing it is to go into Display Property where you can ajust the Wallpaper, Screensaver and you can specify FONT SIZE: LARGE FONT. Return to the Theme tab and select Save as... Next, put this custom .theme file in \$OEM$\$$\Resources\Themes Next you'll add this to your Winnt.sif [Shell] CustomDefaultThemeFile="%WinDir%\Resources\Themes\xxx.theme" Hope this help!
  18. Watch out for that: REG ADD %KEY%\085 REG ADD %KEY%\050 I'd like to know if it works!
  19. No problem! I came to the conclusion that slipstreaming the SP1 into my Admin Install Point caused this because now I remember that when I first did the project of Office 2003 Unattended, I followed the guide and I integrated Pre-SP1 hotfixes and I was still able to go to OfficeUpdate and install some.
  20. For Adobe Reader, you should use my method. For Norton, I don't know because I use a Corporative Version For MediaPlayer 10, I don't get it since it works perfectly with my installation For Ad-Aware, place it just before the Reboot and Cleanup command. Make sure your syntax is flawless!
  21. Forgot to mention this but I use EasyBoot for the MultiBoot part of my CD and there is a Password Protection on it.
  22. Well, i've made my decision. I've decided that I won't /integrate: any hotfixes into my Unattended Win2000 and WinXP SP1 installation. I'll just call them with SVCPACK.INF or a Batch File. I don't know yet how I will solve the KB834707 issue but I'll try to find a way... I will however /integrate: the hotfixes into my WinXP SP2 CD. Cheers!
  23. Here is the big question; How can we protect our long-developped-addictive-TimeSaver Wonder? In my organisation, I distribute my unattended CDs to a lot of Technician and others. It's not that I don't want to share the knowledge with other but I've put so much effort and devotion to finally get a near-perfect Unattended CD; I don't want somebody to get it the easy way... beside, the fun reside in the development Along the way, It became a Multi-Boot CD with other tools and legally speaking, a lot of licences are present on our CD. So I decided to try some experimentation about HIDDING the content of my CDs. The Idea came after I created a Boot Rescue Media with Acronis Disk Director Suite v9.0. I noticed that the CD was working perfectly and I was unable to see the content of it under Windows and DOS, unable to see the content of the extracted ISO with WinISO and UltraISO... I've already posted on the subject in the Multi-Boot CD/DVD Forum HERE but I didn't get any good answer... So here is what I did so far: 1- Use the Windows Hidden Folder attribute for the whole CD. I Just let my Post- Install exe available at the root to launch manually (I know, this is a stupid "protection" but you'll be surprised how most average people don't even know!) 2- After my ISO file is created, I use UltraISO to HIDE the content of it BUT I must leave alone WIN51, WIN51IP and WIN51IP.SP2 otherwise Windows Setup will ask to insert proper media in drive during install. (This "protection" is better because you have to extract the ISO, then open with WinISO or UltraISO to unhide. Not easy for the average person!) I'M OPEN TO SUGGESTION! I'd like to further improve. I know that there is no perfect protection and this is not the goal of my topic. All I want, is to maintain compatibility while making it difficult for everyone to steal the content of my CDs.
  24. You can do it with a Multi-Boot CD/DVD created with EasyBoot but if you don't want to go thru all of this let's wait for some other answers...
