  1. Hello all, I am looking for a simple FTP program as a standalone EXE file. No installation, just double-click... something like putty.exe or winscp.exe for example... Any suggestions?
  2. That's crap, Just buy a keytronic Keyboard and spray it black...
  3. Yes, you're right, I missed this one... it is installed automatically with the Windows Genuine Advantage Validation Tool (KB892130) and the Update for Windows XP (KB898461)
  4. Final test on simulation: Windows XP SP2: ***NEW*** KB896727 KB899588 KB893756 KB899591 KB899587 KB896423 KB894391 KB890830 (Removal Tool August Edition) KB890046 (Re-Released) Take note that KB903235, KB890175 and KB883939 are no longer necessary. I'll update the first page soon...
  5. I'll get into it tonight... I was waiting for the corruption issue to be over
  6. I replaced all 7, if it was a lowercase "i", then I replaced it with LC, and if it was uppercase, I replaced it with UC. Didn't test if it was really required or not. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Same thing for me...
  7. Well, I've been using this method for almost a year now... never had any problem. The reason why only thoses 2 combination works is because they don't break the CRC check as mentionned by TheTruth...
  8. Oh, I am always using EasyBoot to replace... so simple!
  9. I am always using the "Original" setupldr.bin file to edit if this is what you mean...
  10. As I understand it, there is only 2 possibility... I tested with i368 just to make sure and it doesn't work
  11. I didn't get any other information than the Email I got from eBay. The Sellers had excellent 100% positive feedback Yesterday, there was 9 of these monitors at 599$ USD + shipping... I wonder if it was another scam.
  12. TEST RESULT ON Win2K3 Server SP1: i683 - Working! 83i6 - Working! 3i68 - NOT working 683i - NOT working
  13. WoW!, testing RIGHT away! be back soon ** EDIT ** is i683 and 83i6 the only valid format or something like 3i68 would work too?
  14. VISA doesn't want to cancel the transaction... they say they can't because it is PayPal. I nerver had any information about the seller. I think he's from Texas, that's all I know
  15. Maybe he could open the recycle bin and delete the files from there...
  16. That's why I am using the BUY NOW option... I don't have time to waste waiting for a winning bid which ALWAYS end up more expensive than the BUY IT NOW option
  17. Well, a few months ago, I bought a DELL UltraSharp 2005FPW 20.1-inch Wide Aspect Flat Panel LCD and I got it for 600$ CAD (including shipping). That's a good deal considering it is always selling around 950$ CAD on their canadian website... http://accessories.dell.com/sna/category.a...DHS1&l=en&s=dhs This time, I had 2 x Dell UltraSharp 2405FPW 24-inch Wide Aspect Flat Panel LCD Monitor for 1000$ CAD and they always sell around 1400$ so that's a good deal... Anyhow, I would have bought 2 of these monitors 1 month earlier at 1020$ but I had a PayPal limit of 1000$ so I lost the deal and nothing of this would have happened. *CRAP*
  18. I didn't have the feeling I was playing Casino you know... I just feel like there isn't really anything I could do to prevent this. They always have those fu&?%ng banner about safety and confidence with PayPal, now I don't trust them anymore.
  19. I don't know if there is still money in his account but since I had 2 claims, why does the FIRST one isn't fully recovered (and then the missing fund would be on the second claim)? Both are identical I forgot to mention that there was a 24H delay between the 2 claims...
  20. In the morning of July 8 (friday), I used the BUY NOW option on eBay for 2 identical Item No. 5217189323 & 5217163850 (New Dell 24" LCD Ultrasharp Flat Panel Monitor 2405FPW). The BUY NOW option requested immediate payment and I fully paid the amount of 981.77$ CAD (778,99S USD for each monitors) using PayPal. In the morning of July 10 (sunday), I received 2 emails from eBay concerning the 2 items: Since I didn't get any information from the seller, I sent him 3 emails asking for information about this to theses address: jaimemag@hotmail.com & sihatchturbo@hotmail.com (eBay account = drtransexpert) BUT I didn't get any reply. I went thru the PayPal process to fill a claim and I had to wait 10 days (without knowing if I would even have a chance of recovering my money) to finally win the dispute (because the guy never answered) I got a refund of 885,65$ CAD for each monitor (748,31$ USD) so I am still missing 192.24$ CAD. Why? Speaking with 5 PayPal representative, I got a foggy picture. First, there is a 2.5% charge for the conversion going from USD to CAD for every transaction and the missing 30$ ??? They tell me that they weren't able to recover the full 778,99$ USD amount. BUT how come I get 748,31$ twice? If this was true, I would have expected that the first refund would have been fully recovered and the second would be missing money.. no? I finally understand that 748,31$ is the amount they GAVE to the seller so the 30$ missing is their profit. They keep telling me that they will issue a refund when the seller has money in his account but we all know this will never happen. The bottom line for me is: 1- You cannot cancel a PayPal transaction on your credit card 2- You won't get any information thru the whole process. You don't even know if there is still money in the account of the seller to fufill the claim. 3- PayPal doesn't want to pay for their mistake Ever wonder why Ebay and PayPal are F*&?ing rich company?
  21. The thing is that before MCE 2005, you had to buy a complete computer to get a MCE system and only from limited partner with certification (DELL, HP, Etc.). Now, since MCE 2005 (launched at the end of 2004), you can get it from any OEM retaillers and you can also buy a Microsoft Remote Control. The only thing to know is that you have a WinXP Pro version under the hood BUT you can only join a DOMAIN during the initial installation, not afterward.
  22. At least you get educationnal pricing which is the lowest price you can pay for software... unless you can get it for free
  23. My 'old' experience is updated every month and used everyday at work so I would have noticed if it no longer work...
