  1. Having a problem with this build when used with Server 2003 and SP1/SP2 beta's, when running some progs in XP compatibility mode, xp mode is ignored and some apps say "Failed: Redirecting Filesystem" in the error box. an example app to use is http://www.stud.ntnu.no/~skara/files/UsbRate.rar or Logitech's Setpoint, both apps work on 2k3 in XP compatibility mode with previous builds of nLite

edit: Found one of my apps that shows os version when ran, changed compatibility mode to 2000 and it lists correct, changed to xp mode and it still reads as 2003, causing the above apps to fail even in compatibility mode. somehow nlite is messing up the settings somewhere.

  2. Some strange going's on with the intergrater, when i slipstream WMP11 Into Windows Server 2003, application compatibility mode is affected!!, apps that needed to be ran in XP compatabilty mode now fail where's before they used to work, from what i can tell the modes have shifted down, ie XP mode is now 2000, 98 is now 95 etc, when using the Addons its ok, a quick app to test with is this http://www.stud.ntnu.no/~skara/files/UsbRate.rar i use it for clocking the USB bus, just run it with XP compatibility mode, it runs fine on both SP1/SP2 2845, when intergrating WMP11 with the slipstreamer, it fails even in compatibility mode, saying "XP 32bit Only" xp mode usually bypasses and lets it run, so intergrator is messing some settings up someplace. another app i use which no longer works is Logitech's Setpoint (also needs XP Compat Mode on the installer) hope i have explained it well enough

    Lemonzest.

Edit:looks like an nLite 1.3 problem.

  3. what i want is a WinPE disk that i can update an image to, so i can deploy a syspreped server 2003 or xp disk image to. so just need it to boot winpe and remove the first partition, then format to ntfs and then deploy the wim image. and it all on one cd/dvd if possable.

  4. Could a tweak be added to change the ClearType Gamma value? it goes from 1000 to 2200. and is there a way in the .hiv .inf files to remove My from all the things that use it? in settings it allows you to change Documents and Settings to something else (in my case i have called it Users, like on vista) and would like to remove the My prefix from everything it applies too. thanks.

  5. This is what i do with Server 2003 R2 Which comes on 2CD's

copy the contents of all the cd's into one dir, or in this case the contents of each folder into one folder called i dunno DVD or something. then point nLite to the new DVD folder and it will find the i386 folder, BUT when it makes the ISO which will be pretty big as it contains all contents of the CD's Windows will find the other stuff and not ask for the original DVD, its more or less making a network share version then writing it to DVD/CD

  6. there's a problem with the IE7 slipstream, the new sound files are not being expaded to there real names.

    popupblk.wav should be "Windows Pop-Up Blocked.wav"

feeddisc.wav should be "Windows Feed Discovered.wav"

infobar.wav should be "Windows Information Bar.wav"

navstart.wav should be "Windows Navigation Start.wav"

these four files come from IE7 and are not expanded to there real names when intergrated, they are fine when IE7 is installed from normal user mode. this happens in Both XP and 2003.

  7. I'm running Server 2003, with most of those back ported apps (IE7/WMP11/.NET3/Powershell/MMC3/With More to come in 2K3 SP2) already installed, so not really missing much, only aero and dx10. remember Vista is already lipstick on a pig (vista is built on 2003 server) so i'm just using the same lipstick, just a little different shade of colour :P
