For me Internet Explorer is a no go: causes installation to fail.
File and Printer Sharing, IIS, Windows Connect Now, Windows Firewall are also suspicious as well as some other components from the Services section (Computer Browser?). Going for install nr. 20 or so...

Ok, no go for me are:
IE (installation error)
Windows Firewall (installation error)
ICS (installation error)
IPSec (installation error and winipsec.dll error)
QoS (No possiblity to add a WLAN manually)
Welcome Center (keeps appearing in vLite after removal)

If you cant remove IE then wow,
I hate IE with a passionbut it is very useful... IE allows us to download Firefox after install Windows

sadly thats for 7 x86 and this thread was made with the intentions of x64. because win 7 will be the final 32bit OS from MS, so its working for you probably because its 32, I seen you were able to remove sqm which I know cant be done in x64 it wont finish install
mmm the fact is that my cpu does not support "virtualization technology", and i can't run a 64 bit guest OS. I have another PC that supports VT but it has only 1 GB RAM and 64-bit virtual machines are reaaaaally slow, so I test 32 bit first. I'm interested too in 7 x64, so I'll keep working. Anyway, I'm sure most of the removed components work for 64-bit too

ok people, good news
i have a new "safe safe list", with a lot of components removed (1,25 GB ISO, 4,95 GB in HD including paging file). It installs fine on VMware.

After few tests it keeps failing, with errors about system components (I don't know which). I've avoided BSOD leaving unmarked Drivers and Hardware support. At least I discovered that "Error reporting" must not be removed, installation asks for "wer.dll" if it's removed.

I get a BSOD in the 2nd part of the installation, after "starting services", it says "Memory error" or so. Non-vlited Win7 RC works fine on Virtual Machine, so it may be some component/s...

I've just registered, but I have been using nLite (now vLite) and read this forum for 2 years. I only want to say that your work is wonderful... Now I can't understand a non-vLited Windows!!! Thank you very much!!
I've been testing the vLite releases from the first, and they always had been working fine. I like Vista without SAT, Defender... xDDDDD
I'll be looking forward to the release which includes hotfixes integration.

I'm not a guru of Windows, just an advanced user, so I can only say that I'm working now with that preset without any trouble, after installing all drivers and software and using it many hours every day. However, I posted the x86 preset instead of x64, but I'm posting the Last session.ini of my x64 ISO, so there is no doubt (they both are the same, anyway). Here it is:
