  1. Your mixing up to terms MB/s and Mb/s they are diffrerent by a factor of 8. 1.5 MB/s is shown as the speed ur downloading , that is equal to 12Mb/s which is 12% of your 100Mb/s connection to your rotuer (NOT to your ISP), which is then connected to your ISP There will then always be other bits of trafic flowing which will effect the speed a bit, but there is nothing strange happening here
  2. Can i just check something, when it slows down your connection, is uTorrent downloading something and what speeds does it go at?
  3. Dude whats your problem? nLite is perfectly safe, if you do not like just do not use, don't post your fudge here. BTW, learn to speak English. Cheers Just what he said, if that really did happen to you then it wasn't from nlite.
  4. Well i've found the information http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aa373208.aspx going to have a go at implementing it, if anyone has any better ideas, then id love to hear them
  5. No thats not the problem, i never said it was doing it when media players were running, i just want to be able to achieve that feature and i used them as examples so people would know what i meant. I'm looking for how these types of applications prevent shutdown/standby etc so that i can recreate that effect.
  6. Thanks, but as i tried to explain in the post "This has to be done without changing power plans" I'm sure everyone knows the implementation of this in media plays and download managers, it requires no changing of power settings, it simply prevents it from happening, I'm guessing either by pretending the computer is being used or intercepting the signals.
  7. Is there a built in app/command that stops a computer automatically shutting down after a period of time, i'm talking about the feature you have in most media plays so that when your watching something and don't interact with the computer it doesn't shut down, also get it in download programs. This has to be done without changing power plans. So any ideas? Thanks
  8. Never used this to submit a file, however when a user had a problem i found this site as it had a detailed breakdown of everything generated by the virus that had infected their system, including, files, registry keys, registered services, ports opened etc http://www.threatexpert.com/submit.aspx or http://www.threatexpert.com/submissionapplet.aspx (SITE: http://www.threatexpert.com/) Here is an example output http://www.threatexpert.com/report.aspx?ui...3a-204688078f8e
  9. I use Handbreak, which i find very effective http://handbrake.fr/
  10. Could do as described http://www.msfn.org/board/Bat-file-help-t115393.html Modify Yzöwl's code to check for CD-ROMS @Echo off&Setlocal enableextensions For /f %%# In ('Mountvol^|Findstr [d-z]:\\') Do ( Fsutil fsinfo drivetype %%#|Find "CD-ROM Drive">Nul&&( If Exist %%#KNOWNFILE Set "CDROM=%%~d#")) If defined CDROM Echo:%%CDROM%%=%CDROM%
  11. Would very much love this, especially as now can't do it on x86 with SP1 (well without disabling driver signature enforcement on every boot)
  12. Yeah you can do that, or you can use GimageX or WIMMASTER etc to mount it, as vlite has already installed the wimfilter and contains the file needed from WAIK, all you need to do is dump GimageX into the vlite programs folder and run as admin. (the file needed by GimageX is wimgapi.dll and is the same version that you get from downloading the 1GB WAIK (i've checked so i dont need to download 1GB next time its updated for a 320KB dll), so you can make your own folder with GimageX/WIMMaster and wimgapi.dll) Also yes just noticed a reference to yet another Wim tool, "Wim mounter" although ain't tried it myself, however i do like GimageX Edit: Didn't realise you have imagex, however wondering why you don't mount it in read/write mode, and then make the changes (imagex.exe /mountrw /?)
  13. Firstly vista comes with windows mail, not outlook express. i see no reason why outlook won't work fine without it as its completely different software. As for IE, well there are bound to be some really badly coded apps out there that demand IE, but its unlikely it will cause a problem, also you won't be able to use the IE tab extension to Firefox if you come across a old, fussy and crap website requiring IE to work, but that's very unlikely, i would consider keeping it if this computer is used in a work or academic environment, they seam to cling onto strange IE related things, we had to do work using a macroware demo written by a rather past it lecturer for IE only, although most people now make sure they work on Firefox.
  14. Yeah this would be very nice to have a clean way of doing this, maybe with a script at the end to enable aero? Btw is there a way of editing .wim files without downloading the whole 1 Gig WAIK?
  15. Hi, Just realised what you ment, dont know why you can't use the site, but google still has a cache of it http://64.233.183.104/search?q=cache:45XH0...lient=firefox-a Here is another link to it aswell (found by searching for the MD5 Hash) http://www.threatexpert.com/report.aspx?ui...eb-7fed27a95a4d Id suggest saving a copy of this website to your desktop.
