  1. Hello Rippie, Unfortunately the only software that I tested was "Boot Log XP". I don't have Windows 7 or even Vista, so I won't test any other "Boot Logger" too soon… Meanwhile this program only works for Windows XP, but they intend release a version that works in 64-bit, Vista/Seven: http://www.greatis.com/utilities/bootlogxp/bootvis_replacement.htm Kind regards.
  2. There is an option: Boot Log XP http://www.greatis.com/utilities/bootlogxp/index.html You can look for "Microsoft Bootvis": http://www.greatis.com/utilities/bootlogxp/bootvis_replacement.htm Good luck.
  3. You can try this: Fix the ugly menu bar after applying a custom theme http://windowsxp.mvps.org/uglymenubar.htm Do not change your registry without a backup. Good luck.
  4. Last month (April), after one year (it takes ages to HP fixes this problem) HP finally begins to release a hotfix to this problem. This was the worst support case that I have ever seen in my life. After install all the new updates displayed in the HP page for my printer all my problems and errors with the Word 2007 are gone now. Even using HP as my default printer (no changing was necessary anymore). Good luck.
  5. Yes. You are right. The "Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5 Service Pack 1" is the full updated package for v2.0 SP2, v3.0 SP2 and v3.5 SP1. You don't need to install " .NET 2.0 SP2" first. Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5 Service Pack 1 Full Package To download the full package, rather than the bootstrapper, click on the link below: .NET Framework 3.5 Service Pack 1 (Full Package) IMPORTANT: After installing the .NET Framework 3.5 SP1 package (either the bootstrapper or the full package) you should immediately install the update KB959209 to address a set of known application compatibility issues. If you still have problems with these .NET versions you can try also the updates below (post v2.0 SP2, v3.0 SP2 and v3.5 SP1): The best thing to do is to wait for a new update rollup package with the above mentioned patchs. Regards.
  6. Try this: cdimage -e -b<bootsector> -l<label> -h -n -d -m -x -o -w1 "<source folder>" "<destiny folder\NAME.ISO" And see if it works for you. Good luck.
  7. Hello, In the previous versions of "win32k.sys" in Portuguese Brazilian language (PTB) this bug appears in QFE brand. The bug was fixed in the new version of the file: MS09-006: Vulnerabilities in Windows Kernel could allow remote code execution http://support.microsoft.com/kb/958690/ The error doesn't appear anymore in QFE PTB version; the translation was fixed. Best regards, Anderton.
  8. Hello cluberti, Thank you very much for these fantastic instructions. Now I can monitor many events that happen to my RAM. Great tip! After some tests until my graph is working perfectly now. Bye, bye "Task Manager"… Best regards, Anderton.
  9. Hello cluberti, In the Windows XP SP3, I followed the instructions mentioned in the above post, but I have 2 doubts: 1-) In the Performance Monitor, after I add the 4 counters, in the "System Monitor Properties", in the "Graph Tab", in the option "Vertical Scale", which should be the value to set (default is 100) since I have 512 MB of RAM? 2-) Now, in the "Data Tab", in the option "Value Scale" (default is "default"), which should be the correct value to set here based in the configuration above? I have tried many values, but I never can see the 4 lines of the 4 counters at the same time in the graph displayed in the "performance monitor". Thanks in advanced. Anderton.
  10. The GDR (General Distribution Release) updates can be found on Windows Update site so as to be available to a wider audience. Another key item is GDR's are tested to a greater degree than QFE (Quick Fix Engineering). QFE, also known as "hotfixes", are created when a hardware, BIOS or a software issue is identified that needs a fix in a specific and small subset of customer environments. These fixes (QFE) have not been tested for the same length of time for regressions or incompatibilities as what a GDR fix typically goes through. Another key point is QFE's generally contain all the prior fixes from both GDR and QFE, while the GDR's releases in the same package do not contain all the QFE fixes. Files in the QFE folders are cumulative and contain both "the GDR-class fix" and "all previous hotfixes" that affect the included binaries. GDR branch fixes are available from the "Microsoft Download Center", and QFE branch fixes are available directly from "Microsoft Support". Remember a hotfix (QFE) is to fix a specific issue quickly, while "Microsoft Update GDRs" are created to improve everyone's experience. Regards, Anderton.
  11. I had this problem once, and the culprit was the NVidia Graphics Card Driver. I did some "bad configuration" (change 'Coolbits' settings) and the "black screen" blinks every time that I turned on the PC. Take a look at your video card driver. Good luck, Anderton.
