Thanks for the code... Just an update, i deleted the previous UA and started from fresh, all went well until i wanted to pack, 1st it failed saying there was an image already mounted.... had to go into registry to remove wimmount entry then it let me pack, took 60 mins total and said so in the dos window but when i looked at the Se7en_UA report it said just over 4 mins? Anyway just going to try and install without making any changes to the xml file

  2. <!-- This document was created with Syntext Serna Free. ?

To me just first 4-5 components don't look right at all. I built all mine with Sim though its a pain at 1.5gb.

See how things are out of place? I'd try the Sample.xml and adjust as needed or click the Sample xml link down in my Signature where i have 2 Full sample xmls, get one and modify for you. on password you would add the Onerror or Always

I see what you are saying but the xml does seem to be processed, it skip eula and language etc but quits later, i will try to use your xml and use notepad to change it to x86 and run a test with that

  3. 1. this will create the iso, thats 3rd problem I've seen with poweriso in these forums

    2. 80mins to pack using 6.21? 11 mins for me when I used compress option but i have a good system finally. are you doing that from xp? better system you have is better for UA. I remember Vlite used to take forever removing hardly nothing

    3. stalling I've had that and trying to remember, yes something with xml. remove your serials and attach here, I thought I had that fixed or maybe I only fixed my xml which has a lot more than most

    4. you want the PC to boot to Windows welcome? I'd use audit and sysprep with shutdown. Get it right before you do that though.

    urie answered the other

For anyone: If I want VM to pick up my usb then right immediately after I start the VM I unplug then plug back in and it usually attaches it, Win has to see the usb so it will use xml. If it don't then manually attach down at bottom, hit the reset. I like usb cause if it crashes I can go to another PC and fix, look through my posts above somewhere how to copy the errors logs and you can diagnose

    1. I must have got something wrong with iso creation... the first time i tried it i could have sworn it wanted to burn directly to dvd...

    2. I will try the whole process again, i had not rebooted and i think i was running vmware and a whole bunch of things at the time, i am running a intel core 2 duo 1.6 with 2.5gb ram and win 7 ultimate, usually goes pretty well so maybe i should do less when packing... ;)

    3. I used your sample and changed some names and link to oemlogo, removed prod key but left prod key fields, removed image/name so it prompts for version install

    4. I'll experiment with option here... thanks

The usb does get picked up and autounattend is being processed during install but gets hung up.

    AutoUnattend.xml

    AutoUnattend.xml

  4. Heheheh, now the link have all what user required, tools, guides etc, cool Max :thumbup

Firstly let me say thanks for the tool..! :thumbup I have figured out all the options and created, packed (took 80mins using 6.21) Used poweriso to create an iso, removing the autounattend.xml before doing so and then tested the iso install using VMware V7. Now the install goes well, however when i attached a USB flash drive and attempt to install using the autounattend.xml it stalls after 1st reboot at the completing install phase, looks to be about 70% done. My question is what in the autounattend.xml sample that Max provided, would stall the install... cos i'm stuck.. ?

Another question, icreated a multiinstall XP install based on the unattended sif file leaving out computer, Prod key and user name so that they could be added during install to personalise the install (repair shop) can the autounnattend be used to do the same thing or must the fields be filled in otherwise the xml answer file fails.. ?

  5. I personally through experience would never use Raid of any type on a OS drive, get yourself a fast SATA drive and ghost to another. Along with regular backups and updating the ghost when changes in the OS occur is by far the fastest way to recover from drive failure. Raid sucks..!!!!!

  6. hi guys, i have been reading and searching but i cant seem to find anything to do with removing msn messenger 4.7 from my xp cd so when i install xp it doesnt come up? i am using runonce commands and wpi, plus nlite, basically msn 4.7 is anoying old and not what i want, i basically want to remove it and silent install any other new up to date msn messengers like msn 7.5 or live. can anyone give me a link or explain what i can do please thank you.

Best way is to use a winnt.sif file either in the i386 folder on the CD or on a floppy and place this entry under components

    [Components]

    msmsgs=off

    that stops it being installed

  7. I have read most of the posts relating to Pre-Activation but i wanted to get something straight as i'm not clear on it.... i create multiboot cd's of OEM home + Pro and Retail Home and Pro and also a DVD. I use the integrator and powerpacker linked with batch scripts with some extra copy/remove commands, the whole process creates the Cd's and DVD as iso's and takes all day...

My question is whether the addons will work in a multiboot environ' (OEM Only) and are all the oembios files required thereby adding 100mb to the cd (doesn't matter about the DVD, plenty of room)

  8. With xehqter's permission I created some OEMScan Integrator addons for the members here.

    http://siginet.ryanvm.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=61

Enjoy! And please help by shareing some more OEMScan Addons by studying how I made these. They are very simple to create.

Siginet, I've been too busy and away from the forum for awhile and noticed the updates and this very useful tool as I, like you, reinstall hundreds of Dell, HP, Compaq etc etc machines and hate that **** phone call.... :realmad: anyway i went to your site via this link and saw a list but they all just download Dell, was that intentional... ?

  9. I'll try this application, it maybe something to add to my toolbox. :)

    Thanks for the heads up.

Your Welcome, let me know what you think. I'm interested to know if other knowledgable users thinks it's as good as i do... I seem to be finding more features and uses for profiles and group backup etc.

  10. Gouki, if you want free you can still go to Syncback website, they also a have a very powerful free version that will do what you want too.

I am not associated with this program or it's writers but i do use it and find it extremely powerful and useful for the $35CAD it costs..... or use the less powerful (than the SE version) features of the free version.

I have been amazed at what this program offers and it's compatible with XP, Server 2003 and older Win9X

P.S if you use neros InCd i would read the FAQ at 2brightsparks and use the suggested free software instead.

  11. Should be in this format....

    @echo off

    SET KEY=HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\RunOnceEx

REG ADD %KEY% /V TITLE /D "Final Applications and Hotfixes" /f

    REG ADD %KEY%\010 /VE /D "Oem Logo Files" /f
    REG ADD %KEY%\010 /V 1 /D "%systemdrive%\install\oemlogo.cmd" /f

    REG ADD %KEY%\015 /VE /D "Installing .Net SP 1.1" /f

    REG ADD %KEY%\035 /VE /D "Importing Registry Tweaks" /f
    REG ADD %KEY%\035 /V 1 /D "REGEDIT /S %systemdrive%\install\regtweaks.reg" /f

Also windows needs to know what %PP% is...

  12. thanks man

    that did it.

Now it seems I can't get spybot 1.4 to install and autoupdate. I have checked the forums and even read the spybot faq's

once again what am i doing wrong?

    REG ADD %KEY%\009 /VE /D "Spybot Search and Destory 1.4" /f

    REG ADD %KEY%\009 /V 1 /D "\"U:\Spybot\spybotsd14.exe\" /verysilent /autoupdate" /f

    Try it without the backslash

    REG ADD %KEY%\009 /V 1 /D ""U:\Spybot\spybotsd14.exe" /verysilent /autoupdate" /f

  13. I'm not fixing it. I am moving toward enhancing it. As of now... with this beta the enhancements are mainly just speed and looks. Any changes that I have made are for future stuff that the final release will be capable of. Belive me... I know what you mean about if it aint broke don't fix it. I have a bunch of batch files and ini files that I use between the integrator and powerpacker and my batches are pefect... but with the new changes in the integrator my old batches and ini files are useless. So even I hate the changes so far. But when you see where the changes are going you will appreciate them. ;) The new powerpacker will have a lot more customizable capability. Just trust me. If you like the old powerpacker... you will love the new one when it is complete. I am gearing toward making powerpacker and the integrator to actually work together better than ever. One usefull enhancment so far is that you can save/load your settings files.

I should have clarified that I meant my setup wasn't broke... so i don't want to fix it yet... :P

I know you want to improve it and i'm sure you will. Actually, my batch script includes deleting a source folder and creating a new blank folder, loading each vanilla OS ISO via Daemon tools command line then copying winntbbu.dl_ for each different OS just after the integrate stage. When powerpacker is initiated the batch also deletes the destination and recreates a blank folder, powerpacks and then copies my version cdshell and splash files and lastly creates the ISO

Can you make integrator and powerpacker do that without batch files...? that would be neat.

I can zip the batch scripts if you like so you can see whats happening...

  14. I would love to try this but i have my batch scripts configured so that i can "integrate" and then "powerpack" a DVD with addon data then an OEM home/pro cd iso and then a retail home/pro cd iso then a Corp Cd iso. I start it when i leave work and burn the finished results when i come in the following day. :thumbup

The saying goes... "if it ain't broke, don't fix it...!!!!!" B)
