Yes you can. Make sure you pug it in correctly, maybe you plugged it in backwards. The wire colors have to match.
Since the socket is not the same, it might be loose. Get a glue gun, put it to the lowest temperature (removable later) and put a bead of hot glue to hold the fan connector to the plastic base.

Do it.
Don't give stupid information. Someone is asking for help. Just because the answer is obvious for you doesn't mean you have to be condescending.
Too short to imply condescending, and my post did not include any information.

I can swap a pentium 4 (2.8ghz) with an AMD socket 7 (1.8ghz).
Do it.

There is absolutely no relation in between the graphics card and the processor.
Software will run differently depending on your setup. Driver support is as good as nVidia's.

Use a Virtual Machine and install Win95 inside.
VirtualPC or VirtualBox. Both freeware.

It's ok, i'm just wondering what I should watch out for, because normally i just yank out my usb drives.
You get little performance boost with a huge risk.
I did this on my external HD. With cache: ~35mb/s without cache 32-33mb/s transfer speed.

Yes, it can take a very long time to reinstall Windows and get all of your applications reinstalled and reconfigured. The last time I reinstalled Vista and all of my programs it took me an entire weekend.
Not so. If you prepare ahead of time it can take a few hours.
1. Get the all the latest drivers then organize them and put them in a folder.
2. Take your applications you want to install, organize them in a folder.
3. It helps to have your documents organized in as few folders as possible.
4. Unattenuated install. Use vLite or nLite.
5. Copy & paste all the folders in steps 1-3 to a backup location, and then back on the main drive after windows reinstallation.
Staying organized and prepared is the key to doing an easy & painless reinstall.

Is there enough air flow through the case?
Air needs to be sucked in at the front, and pushed out through the back. Make sure the fans are positioned in the right direction and working.
How is the dust situation?

ThermalRight HR-01
This is what I'm running. I've combined it with a Noctua fan for heatsinks. The P version, its very quiet, its very cool, even when my dual is overclocked.
If you do plan to overclock your machine, get this heatsink and a beefier fan. Something that pushes more air.

Telling someone to reformat to fix things, unless that's the only way, doesn't teach people anything.
Depending on how much junk there is, formatting may take less time than scrubbing the system piece by piece.

Thanks both. I can use admin or power user accounts. But is this drive locking normal or not?
Sounds normal for a restricted account. If it does it in power user or admin account then it is an issue.

In my earlier pc I was almost always logged in as admin, but I don't remember seeing this kind behaviour when using limited account.
Again, if you don't like the behavior change the security settings.
I recommend changing account type.

And hogwash on the "fresh install". Been running my system for three years+ and not a whimper of performance issues and loads of other software installed. You mainly get performance hits when you have too many applications and services running simultaneously (ref. cluberti's comments).
There's a difference between you and the OP. Who knows how much junk his system is littered with. It hasn't been maintained in years.

You're not going to get an answer if you're so vague.
There are thousands of different solutions to your problem.

You can't uninstall NTFS. Its not a program.

If you don't like restrictions, don't use a restricted account.
Change it. Go to the Control Panel, Users, then change it to limited or power user or something.

Simple. Use the SATA driver. Find it, install it.

How do I re-assign drive letters if I haven't created the drive yet?
Please do not use word documents. It is very annoying.
Save your screenshot as a jpeg and upload that.
The drive does not appear to show up at all. You cannot give a drive letter to an invisible drive. Is the drive is visible in the BIOS? Unplug what you don't need to avoid confusion.

No, that's a subdivision modeler.
I'm looking for a parametric modeler so I can change the aspects of a solid. Say for example I have a pipe with a hole in it that pipe 2 connects to. If pipe 2 needs to be larger, I can adjust the hole instead of redrawing everything.
The model is built on parameters. Length, width, diameter... etc. That can be modified after.

I'm looking for a parametric modeler for some 3D work.
From what I read Inventor and Solidworks are pretty heavy, although they have alot of features.
If it can do animations like a Mech CAD application similar to Solidworks & Inventor, that would be a nice bonus.

LOL. You're installing a beta service pack on an empty secondary OS. Very ballsy.
Really. From what to what?
