ok peeps, heres a strange issue i just came up with upon my latest disk..
first off,, i did my regular stuff, driver packs, ryanvm packs,, nlite
i tested this disk in vmware and i had no problems
but upon, using it on a real pc, i came up with a very strange issue,, before i could reset when i got to the partion and format screen,,
all the drives came up as unknown and no disk
now the strange issue is this only has happened with this disk,, when i put in a old disk, it comes up normal with my partions reading as c,d,e
this is a very strange issue,, does any body have any clues as to what could be causing this..

no you wouldnt have to do any more activation, and yes you can change/add your hd.
the only time youd have to reactivate vista is if your reinstalling the os

You never mentioned if you finished the Windows 2000 installation. Because if you did, get some kleenex and start crying.

problem fixed,,
the solution for me was to add these enteries to my unattended section in the winnt.sif file
DriverSigningPolicy = Ignore
NonDriverSigningPolicy = Ignore

hi guys this is a very strange issue ,
im creating my latest disk and i have everything in it, the way i want it,, updates rvm mainly and a few others picked up in the rvm forums nothing much
well the disk works fine up to this point when tested in vmware.
now i need to make room for drivers so i need to slim the disk down, so heres where im getting the problem
it seems no matter what i remove from the disk, upon testing the disk, i get this device installer error saying windows could not load the installer for battery.
now the reason i said it seems no matter what i remove i get this error. is because of a few tests which go like this
test 1) removed langs, keyboards and docs , support and valueadd folders..
result i get the same device error
test 2) left the above intact and just removed screen savers, movie maker, music samples, msn explorer, net meeting, outlook express, windows messenger.
result, same as above device error
now i cant seem to figure out why im getting this error,, can any one tell me or have a ideal on why its happening..
thanks.

hi
i just did not know where to post this so its here..........
i got a tweak to speed up firefox.........
1. Type "about:config" into the address bar and hit return. Scroll down and look for the following entries:network.http.pipelining
network.http.proxy.pipelining
network.http.pipelining.maxrequests
Normally the browser will make one request to a web page at a time. When you enable pipelining it will make several at once, which really speeds up page loading.
2. Alter the entries as follows:
Set "network.http.pipelining" to "true"
Set "network.http.proxy.pipelining" to "true"
Set "network.http.pipelining.maxrequests" to some number like 30. This means it will make 30 requests at once.
3. Lastly right-click anywhere in the "about:config" page and select New-> Integer. Name it "nglayout.initialpaint.delay" and set its value to "0". This value is the amount of time the browser waits before it acts on information it recieves.
4. Restart Firefox
so nw i wanted to know that if it is possible to make a cmd file or some registry changes or any way this can be done automatically i.e without strarting firefox.........
if anybody could help please
hi, ok to start off, yes this is possible, but you should really post anything related to application installs in the Application Installs section
http://www.msfn.org/board/index.php?showforum=80
now to answer your question you can set up fire fox tweak it until your hearts content and then use a application called sof to create a custom install of firefox with your settings
http://www.msfn.org/board/index.php?showtopic=66130
there ya go i hope this helps,, this is just one method of going about what your asking, and in your case possibly the easiest

tisk tisk bat man, hmmm germany you say,, man never been there but i hear some of the ladies are hairy,, lol but then again thats just what i hear,, so you must be getting a good job to make you think of jumping ship, as for Rosetta Stone it really is the best, ive used to spruce up on the 3 languages that i speak, well not completly fluent but i know enough to get my self out of a tough pickle lol
i honestly hear they arnt much different from where your at now m8,, but the gas may be cheaper and the food priceyer then the uk.
well thats my 2 cents ,,, either way its a tough call, definatly weight all of your choices
good luck bro

onboard graphics queston
in Hardware Hangout
Posted
hi all, well heres the situation
i just built a pc for my little niece out of some old pc parts.. well ive ran into quite a few problems to start off the hd was failing so i replaced it and installed a clean version of xp pro
i installed all the drivers and even updated the onboard graphics drivers
now to my question..
i believe the onboard graphics are on their way out,, but i want advice
symptoms,, graphics seem gittery at times
some times upon opening folders or apps there becomes lines all over the screen
pc shuts off randomly upon installing some apps
pc shuts off every time while trying to install small games from http://www.reflexive.com/
pc shuts off even when trying to open the games,, even if i just use there folders from "program files"
games dont restart the pc when opening the games in 256 colors. compatability mode.
well thats about it,, do you think its the onboard graphics or could it be some other area i should look into..
thanks for any advice you can give..
