Using this software at this stage of developement is pointless. As I can see there is absolutely no support, bugs are not solved. Apart of the system ui missing languages in the initial setup there is also issue with slipstreaming. After slipstreaming with SP1 I got the following error in the installer:
"Windows could not set the offline locale information. Error code: 0x80000001"
Ok after some attempts I think where is the issue.
My Windows 7 version comes from DELL. It's English OS version but it contains additional languages .cab files in languages folder on the CD. I guess that during the installation process the selected language is written to the installed system. So if I slipstreamned SP1 before then there is issue when system wants to install additional language over system with SP1. So I decided to:
1. Take my language .cab file and integrate it with OS manually (manually meaning before system installation but I did it of course with RT 7 Lite)
2. Slipstream SP1
I hope it will work this way

With my original Windows 7 CD I have possibility to choose system language at the beginning of the installation. Yesterday I used RT 7 lite to integrate SP1 + remove some components. I didn't touch any unattended settings but now in the installation process I can't choose any other system language but English. So I entered RT 7 lite again and market unattended settings. I went to "regional" tab but still the only language I can select there is English. What's wrong?
Thanks
Ok I found the issue. When doing tweaks or un-attended changes all is fine. All languages are are possible to choose during initial setup. To problem appears when some feature is removed, even if it's not a language. For example I removed TV Tuners drivers and Remote Registry and now no more possible to choose any other language in the initial setup but English. So using "Features Removal" is broken here.
Any solution?

I have a following problem:
My Windows 7 installation CD is Multi-language. In RT Seven Lite 1.0.9 there is only option to choose English language. So after customizing process my Win7 can be only in English but during the installation there suppose to be option to choose the language at the very beginning. I'm not talking about keyboard language but about the whole system language. What can I do?

Ok so if I mark something from right side then it means that the marked element will be disabled or enabled?
If you check something in the right side, it is enabled.
Ok so the things that are checked by default from the beginning in the app are the same that by default windows installation? And if something isn't checked then it means that it is also by default disabled in standard installation of Windows?

Sorry for maybe dump question but "Default features" in Features Removal section are list of features that I want to keep or remove?
Left side is for permanent removal
Right side is for enabling and disabling windows application. It will not be wiped out from WIM.

Watch on http://www.blackviper.com/Windows_7/servicecfg.htm you explain what services do and how to choose their operation. RT7 use any presets based on this link. Then once you have created your custom image, you can test it on VMware virtual garage. Even if you do not give a full guarantee of operation on the real physical machine, you will not install operating systems that do not work changed to 100%. Good luck.
Thanks for the link. Is there something similar to this but about components because I wasn't thinking about services actually writing my previous post

Maybe no one will respond because you know just what you need or not. . Telnet is NOT a basic function for the operating system. Its removal should not create any problem. Remove the server will prevent that we can connect to your PC using this protocol (improve security) . If you also remove the client, you can not connect to any machine that has a telnet server running.
You are right but I'm talking about some specific stuff for professional or not regular purpose. Things like multimedia stuff are up to my choice but I simply don't know what most of those components do
That's why I asked for some help in choosing what to remove. As I said before - all I do is playing music, browsing internet, working with MS office and playing some games from time to time.
Anyway thanks for telnet explanation. I will remove it then. And where can I find Program Compatibility Assistant? If I remove the service then the program is useless, right? But I can't find it in the removal components...

Nobody can help? Mostly I'm wondering if it's safe to remove telnet stuff... ?

I'm going to make my first win7 x64 customization CD and I want to ask you guys if things I want to remove are safe to remove and maybe you have some ideas what else is safe to remove and completely useless.
* This is based on 32-bit ISO image but this week I will received 64-bit operating system. I think the main difference will be that x64 version will have some more services? Ok, here is it:
Pernamently remove:
Accessories --------------
On-Screen Magnifier
Welcome Center
Windows Repair Disc
Drivers ------------------
Intel Corporation
NVIDIA
Creative Technology
TV Tuners
Language Packs ------------
All
Multi-Media ---------------
Sample Music and Videos
Sample Pictures
Screensavers
Network -------------------
Telnet Client
Telnet Server
Services ------------------
BitLocker Drive Encryption Service
Parental Controls
Problem Reports and Solutions Control Panel Support
Program Compatibility Assistant Service (can I remove a program, not only a service?)
Remote Registry
Smart Card Removal Policy
Windows Backup
Windows Error Reporting Service
Windows Card Space
Windows Biometric Service
System --------------------
Recovery
Tablet PC
Windows Anytime Upgrade
Default features:
Tablet PC Components
Telnet Client
Telnet Server
I'm a regular user. I don't work with any servers or networks. Just connecting to wifi router and browsing internet. Most of time working on MS Word, playing some games from time to time. What do you think I can safely remove then?

Additionally, I don't know if it's that good of an idea to remove Protected Storage.
If you remove Protected Storage, software will not remember your passwords. So security-wise, it's a good idea to remove.
All passwords? Like in Opera passwords also? So button "Remember password" will be useless?

Thanks myselfidem! Will try that! I found also RT 7 Lite on this forum which seems to be competition to 7customizer. There is already available tweak to skip user account creation and log in automatically as administrator. I will give a try to both app and see which one is better

Hi there!
First - big congrats for the developer! I used to use nlite, then vlite and when I've heard that there is no such tool for win7 I was highly disappointed. Then I found this tool and I'm very happy that someone took the hard of continuing the idea of easy customizing system installation CD.
The question I have now is about next release - when it's going to be? I'm going to install windows 7 x64 for the first time (I used to have only 32-bit systems before) and I want to customize it as much as possible and I've seen on the first post that components removal part in on the way. So I wonder if to wait couple of more days or to give a try to v 0.4.4 which was released quite long time ago.
And... I almost forgot. Is there a possibility in the customization process that my account will be Administrator account by default? I'm tired of r-click and "run as administrator" so I wonder if there is a way to always be the administrator
Regards!

I've read all the topic, well it's not so long, just 2 pages
and I did some changes but still maybe there is something I did wrong following the guide...

@ Randomness: I find this so called 'Guide' of yours kind of a waste of time in my opinion. Have you even slightly looked up what all of the components and services really do? Most of the tips you give are misleading and dead wrong! Stop writing these guides if you don't know what your talking about. It's a good initiative, I agree, but only if started by someone who really knows all of the components and services including their dependencies inside out...
Sorry to be a little harsh here, but it kinda bugged me
No disrespect whatsoever
Could you please make some corrections if you think that there were some mistakes? My Vista Image is based in a part on this guid so before the installation I would like to know if I have to correct something, I don't want then my system to be unstable. Thanks

I made a new Widnwos XP SP3 installation without WMP11, IE7 and no intel chipset drivers integration. I only integrated IMSM and now everything is working just fine. So, I have no idea what caused the error before. Thx PVU very much for your support, I really apprecheated it!!

No, my first instalation didn't contain Intel Chipset and AHCI/SATA drivers via textmode integration. It was just Windows XP + SP2 and after instalation I was installing autopatcher, then chipset drivers and then IMSM.
Do you really think, that WMP11 and IE7 could be the reason why AHCI is not working? I don't really think so, but I will try to install fresh windows XP SP3 without WMP11 and IE7 and see if IMSM is working...

My first installation was like that:
I installed Windows XP SP2 modified (but very carefully) with nlite, then I boot system in ATA mode, I installed chipset drivers then reboot then I installed IMSM from executable file and then I switech on the AHCI mode. Then I integrated IMSM drivers to the installation CD to not to install them every time I format my system. Everything was working.
And now:
I installed Windows XP SP3 modified (still very carefully) with nLite, I integreted new 8.x.x.xxxx IMSM drivers and integrated WMP11 + IE7 + Intel chipset drivers also integrated with the instalation CD. When I was slipstreeming IMSM, WMP11 and IE7 and the chipset drivers with the instalallation CD my OS was like the one on the top, so AHCI was all the time enabled. After the instalation the system gave ma a blue screen with error, and I was surprised becasue I slipstreamed IMSM just like I did it before, it was just the new version.

If you are trying to install any version of the IMSM while your BIOS is set to ATA, it will fail.
Well, I think that you are not right, because when I was installing IMSM for the first time about one year ago first I installed the drivers and then I switched AHCI mode in BIOS. And everything was warking. Since I have SP3 it doesn't work in any way.
EDIT:
Some good and bad news...
Good one: new version 8.2.0.1001 was relased today
Bad one: still doesn't work

I think that I know what going on. I tried to install 7.8.0.1012 but... it doesn't work. The only thing that has change from the time that I was installing 7.8.0.1012 on my notebook is that now I have SP3 instaed of SP2. I think that this is the problem, the installer don't accept the new SP3...

None of these methods works for me
The last working version of IMSM was 7.8.0.1012. Then, the 8.x.x.xxxx doesn't work. But it the iaAHCI.inf it is written that it fits to my ICH8M (PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_2829&CC_0106.DeviceDesc = "Intel® ICH8M-E/M SATA AHCI Controller") So what is going wrong in the new series?
