For me there's only one noticeable problem, which is that there is no flashing cursor within input boxes (such as the one I'm typing in now) to mark your place within text.
FWIW
This problem does not seem to affect 98SE, it only shows up when Opera 10.50+ versions are installed on 98SE2ME or ME itself.
The only workaround I know for this is to left click on the box you need to fill and hit 'Insert' button on the keyboard. This will get you a rather bold flashing line in place of the normal line, which is less than perfect but useable.

Most of the tweaks that are applicable to earlier versions of Opera still apply. Google will get you plenty of answers.
It really bothers me that people suggest google all the time.
If google had all the answers, I wouldn't be asking questions, now will I?
Google do not have all the answers so beware! Thanks for your reply but it was of no help.I'm aware of the ones from google but............
It amazes me that some people still need to be spoon-fed answers rather than look for themselves!!!

Replace the opera.dll from 10.54 and 10.6 should work. I'm using it now.
I read this on the opera forum and it works. Don't know if it loses functions or stabilty or what not.
IMHO
Replacing opera.dll 10.60 with that from 10.54 will still for the most part give you Opera 10.54. Have you checked what version it says under Help - About Opera with that dll in place.

There seems to be a problem with using TCPView with RP9.6.3. ....... The display of Sysinternals TCPView is not visible with RP9 installed. It appears to be empty.
No problem here running TCPView v2.51 with RP9.6.3, the display is normal and fully readable with the default font on my 98SE2ME box. I cannot test it on my 98SE unit, which has the same versions installed of both programs as that is out on loan 'till the weekend.

i'm with a problem installing KernelEX 4.5 ß2, it needs Microsoft Layer for Unicode, i have downloaded it from another computer, and then, unziped to temp folder, then, started installation of kernelex. it does not find the Microsoft Layer for Unicode. The computer does not have a internet connection for downloaded it.
OS: MS-DOS 7.10 with Windows 98SE PT-BR + All Updates (installed from a CD) + Somes unnoficial updates + IE6 + WMP9.
Download unicows.exe and transfer that and run it on the PC and that will place unicows.dll into the C:\Windows\System folder or transfer the unzipped unicows.dll into that folder directly.

I've had it with Windows 98, I will be purchasing a new custom built computer soon with Windows 7.
My take on Windows 98 and Windows 7 comparisons remind me of a quote by Albert Einstein;
Any intelligent fool can make things bigger and more complex... It takes a touch of genius - and a lot of courage to move in the opposite direction.

.... Also, has anyone tried to install flash player 10.1? Installer crashes.

I changed those two key values from 9.0.277.0 to 10.0.45.2 (the most current version 10)
The most current version of Flash is 10.1.53.64, can you try it with that version?

I am back with FF 2.0.0.20, but for some reason I am unable to get my ABP Ad Block Plus back, any ideas?
According to Add-ons for Firefox page, Adblock Plus 1.2 works with FF 3.0.12 - 3.7a6pre only but Ad blocker 0.6.7 works with FF 1.5 - 3.6
I tried KernelEx beta, but I had to remove it as it was stopping my ZoneAlarm from running in the system tray.Did you try the Compatibility setting in KernelEX set to 98SE for Zone Alarm? You should have posted your problem in the KernelEx thread, I am sure someone would have given you the remedy.

Is there any way to install Adobe Flash player version 10 to Windows 98 Firefox 2.0.0.20
Flash Player 10.0.45.2 works with KernelEx 4.5 Beta on FF 2.0.0.20 see this thread http://www.msfn.org/...elex-45-beta-2/
It functions better than Flash 9 does without KernelEx.

I have no problems with NEC cards.
I will agree with that!
I have installed quite a few USB 2.0 cards on various 98SE boxes and all these cards used the NEC uPD720101 chip. Despite the cards coming with the drivers on discs I have always pointed the installer towards the NUSB 3.3 folders and have encountered no problems whatsoever.

Just about every answer to every question you could ask about hosts files including the pro and cons of using 0.0.0.0 and 127.0.0.1 on all OS's is discussed MDGx at http://www.mdgx.com/hosts.php

@Mijzelf. I have never encountered any problems with a large hosts file on 98SE. I have at present 137269 entries using Hostsman v.3.2.73 with MVPS, hphosts(all three files) and Peter Lowe's AdServers all enabled.

Anyone using it successfully?
See the new post by Xeno86 in the KernelEx thread.

I'v tried to check newest version of it (RC 7).
Uninstallation of the previous one (10.0.45.2) was smooth. No problem with installation of 10.1.
But it doesn't work - looks like it's not detected.
Anyone using it successfully?
No!
I can confirm I have the exact same symptoms, I've tried an installation over the top of 10.0.45.2 and a fresh install, without success. Same symptoms on all the browsers I've tried, FF2, FF3.6.3 and Opera 10.10.
Thought the install went too well!
Edit: You probably should have begun this post in one of the KernelEx threads!

Kel!
I switched off 'Enable animated images' in my Opera Browser and you fell from the sky!
I much prefer something that takes less brain power to operate.

The lack of flashing cursor does not affect 98SE. See this post! http://www.msfn.org/...971#entry940971
