  1. @Mov AX, 0xDEAD@daniel_k@Dave-H I just test the new acpi.sys V5 free for XP SP3 with connection() patch, which I compiled just now https://ufile.io/mzgeqhbo Waaaooooh, it works on the Flex 10 with newest Bios 93cn59ww Bit64, what a crazy nice work Dietmar

  2. Don't argue about this publicly here, please. We don't want this topic too to be bloated with off-topic replies/arguments...

  3. @Dietmar Connection() fix, change ParseField() to Tested on DSDT test code: SHS3 and FLD0/FLD1 are dummy with undefined type, if DSDT uses it lately in some math calculation, i don't know what happens

  4. I'm personally of the opinion that the MAT Drama is a "toxic environment" that should probably be "limited" to its own dedicated area here at MSFN. It's like Court Room TV or Soap Operas - I know they "exist", but my life is better off not spending ANY of my time to tune into them

  5. In this topic I'll post my modified drivers for Windows 2000 with SP4 (no Updates Rollup or Extended Kernel needed). For testing purposes only, so beware. If considered stable, will be promoted to Final. - Intel Matrix Storage 7.6.9.1002 (AHCI/RAID) Driver only: Win2000_7.6.9.1002_DriverOnly.7z Complete package: Win2000_7.6.9.1002_Complete.7z This one is slightly newer than BWC's 7.6.0.1011, with a few fixes. - AMD(Hudson?) / Intel / VIA XHCI USB3.1 driver 1.1.0.0276 Driver only: 276BETA_W2K.7z Has the same issues with PAE as XP. Don't know if Windows 2000 is also affected by qword ACPI issue (the XHCI controller won't initialize and reports Error code 10). In this case, please try it in MPS Uniprocessor/Multiprocessor mode.

  6. Thanks and I totally agree! Very unpleasant! As I already mentioned we can discuss this later when I have published my work. The only thing I can say at this moment that openssl-1.1.1 includes support for TLSv1.3 and this is the version in REV3e. But that doesn't mean this capability is already unleashed or activated. More relating to this matter in the next days. Thanks for your words! Cheers, AstroSkipper

  7. No more of this here please or I will put my moderator's hat on! I wanted to ask, as the main reason to use ProxHTTPSProxyMII Rev3e is that it apparently supports TLS 1.3, is there any way of confirming that this is working? I've tried a few test sites, but the results are inconclusive.

  8. I don't like this kind of behaviour. And this all leads to nothing and is wasted time. Therefore, discussion finished. Thanks for testing! Detailed information no longer requested. AstroSkipper

  9. It's not a DSDT modification. You need to change default BIOS settings (EFI Setup variables, AMI default setting and IFR default setting) because Enable IO MWAIT Redirection it's not visible in BIOS Setup. The same way with Enable TCO Timer (fixes ACPI timer), don't need to patch FACP table. I'll send you the files later.

  10. Non-critical file removal is all that is needed. Even newer versions of Rufus can do it for you. https://i12bretro.github.io/tutorials/0635.html But it may be a matter of time before this is patched out. Such as maybe they will make Setup or Windows have an error if that file is missing. In regards to if Win 10 is the new 98... you think in 20 years from now there will be an active Windows 10 modding community like there is for Windows 98?

  11. @Dietmar I've managed to get XP working on my Z370 by BIOS modding without patching a single file. Here is what you need to do: - patch DSDT table (fixes ACPI A5 errors); - Enable TCO Timer (fixes ACPI timer); - Enable IO MWAIT Redirection (fixes CPU C states).

  12. There is no universal way to jump over unsupported bytecode In case of Connection() i made decision to keep field definitions because it was used in other place In case of doubled device definition i jump over all definition to end in case of I2cSerialBusV2()/GpioInt()/GpioIo() currently no need any fixes, because XP acpi.sys skips this type of resources as "unknow" I don't know all new acpi v2-v5 sub-opcodes inside parent commands because it requires reading and comparing all acpi specification (1000 pages)

  13. You need manually parse every motherboard For my h110 s2pv board, you need "hide" IICB method of PCI device because it uses I2cSerialBusV2 + probaly link to I2C0 device Then need to hide CLP0 device + LNK0 device + ....

  14. See how DSDT coded in bytes fix detect sequence 02 11 (connection as buffer), skip all inside buffer definition and jump to 53 48 53 33 01 to same in decompiled format: now SHS3 is not alias to GPIO pins, now it is alias to fake memory field

  15. @daniel_k I dont have one of those USB sticks. But I noticed another strange behavior on any USB device with the new USB3 driver: When you copy a really big amount of data (for example 40 Gbyte) in one step, suddently comes a message, that not enough ram is there, even I have with patch 32 Gigabyte. When you disconnect the stick and connect again, you can copy this 40 Gbyte. But when you try to copy the next 40 Gbyte, exact the same message appears. This is not a big problem, because nearly no "normal" file is about this size, but the problem is real. This never happens, when you make the same transfer with 40Gbyte again and again via 2 Sata disks Dietmar

  17. Fast Startup has no possibility of increasing boot time. Boot being the key word here, implies that the computer is off. Fast Startup only increases time to resume from hibernation.

  23. sad we now talking about tolerating the new operating systems. I find it disturbing, as well. Not all things am I put off by from the new generations, some good changes, but, overall, miss the past and that isn't good to be stuck in a time warp. Sorry, hope that made sense and will edit afterwards if I can make a bit more sense. Again, sorry.

  24. from my testing, it seems to be broken from the beginning! EDIT: should be fixed by rev https://github.com/roytam1/basilisk55/commit/a01476644920cba556a83ca60968003185af55df

  25. Too much monotony can do that. I got the letter from the financial board few days ago that I owe the neighboring municipality 40€ for "speeding" fine, which I already paid in time in January, so then half-price applied. I wrote an email to the municipality, attaching payment confirmation document and they apologized, saying the list of transactions for the day when the transaction was made was missing. Holy moly, with all the computers in place, LOL! Late edit: About the "speeding"; to clarify, I'm not some maniac overconfident in his driving abilities, I was merely entering...is it the settlement?...can't find the right word...a town or village doesn't seem fitting neither...and there was apparently a hidden radar at the beginning where my speed was apparently 58 km/h. The limit is 50 km/h. I tend to slow down gradually and use engine alone as a brake when deemed safe to do so. Also, the road was bloody empty! Guess if I'd let go of the gas pedal about 2 seconds earlier, I'd made it there within the limit.

  27. I hinted that it might as well be disabled because if it isn't just a no-op var (can't be bothered to dig through the code), querying for "Flash embeds" (which is the default if the code is still there) on YouTube is pointless and a waste of CPU cycles.

  29. I didn't try others but i can say for newcomers to here that, nginx method worked for me and that was the easiest solution for me. Thank you OP for collecting this all information on a single topic and offering us regularly. Also surely thank you for creators of that all ways. As OP said, while reading other long topic i was so confused and can't sure about what i need to done exactly. Temporary solution to grant access to MU/WU using nginx method due to interference of AV/firewall To people who want to do MS updates with this method, please disable your antivirus software/firewall if you have one. It takes my 6 hours to figure this while trying to connect windows update site lol. Of course each PC has different status and each one may have other error codes, problems while doing this but just saying an extra experience. Regards.

  30. No problem. V11 is really super fast. Very good work. I thought maybe an update would fix the error message when opening the settings.
