  1. ... YES; remove the LAV dlls adjacent to basilisk.exe, exit browser, relaunch browser and test: http://demo.nimius.net/video_test/ https://tekeye.uk/html/html5-video-test-page http://camendesign.com/code/video_for_everybody/test.html http://www.html5videoplayer.net/html5video/mp4-h-264-video-test/ https://ophi.org.uk/test-html5-video/ These DLLs have been updated by roytam1 on Sep 25th, 2021 ; they are based on FFmpeg 3.4.9 Those were based on FFmpeg 3.1.1 What does that even mean? What type of CPU are you on? If it supports SSE2 instruction set, download the default package; if it supports up-to SSE, download the ia32 variant; for even older CPU, give the noasm variant a try... The links are for the 32-bit architecture; the extracted DLLs must be placed adjacent to palemoon.exe (for NM27) / arcticfox.exe (for ArcticFox-Win); the browser has to be restarted to successfully load the DLLs...

  2. ... Serpent 52.9.0 on WinXP doesn't rely on LAV dlls for h264/aac decoding (i.e. playback); it uses a modified ffvpx third-party library; just make sure media.ffvpx.enabled is in its default value of true (FWIW, under Vista SP2 and higher, St52 defaults to using WMF system - OS - codecs; it can be configured to use ffvpx there, too, by disabling media.wmf.enabled; do note that ffvpx doesn't use H/W h264 decoding (Win7+), if your gfx card supports it, that is...). TL;DR: You should remove LAV dlls from within the Serpent 52 application directory! LAV dlls for NM27 (and related forks) were recently updated: https://o.rthost.win/palemoon/lav-dll-lite-3.4.9.7z https://o.rthost.win/palemoon/lav-dll-lite-ia32-3.4.9.7z https://o.rthost.win/palemoon/lav-dll-lite-noasm-3.4.9.7z Download the variant that is compatible with your CPU...

  3. I meant do not use their "dirty" (original chinese version). As per russian version , there is absolutely no need to use it too , since there are versions from scratch available .

  6. Your last 13 build is quite solid, @Humming Owl. Thank you. PS: I keep switching between yours and Artifoxie's 13 -this week is yours :P.

  7. I do not allow udp connections for browsers. That probably explains why I can't replicate. EDIT: UDP does that, it listens until a connection asks in.

  8. What I do is to run two different profiles using https://addons.thunderbird.net/en-us/firefox/addon/profileswitcher/. The addon's interface is half broken: it won't show profile names, but it will make the profile manager pop up, then you can run a profile with no multiprocess along side one with it, when needed.

  9. Interestingly, it doesn't work with avcodec-lav-58.dll -https://github.com/3dyd/LAVFiltersXP/releases- (which works fine in sp52). But the lav folder in the second post of this thread (avcodec-lav-57.dll) does the trick. Live videos in youtube work well with that for me. Video quality is low, though. I imagine this could be solved with addons (will try youtube enhancer or any such) for youtube, but not quite so in FB. Will keep testing. Thanks!

  10. libav DLLs are not bundled, you may need placing files in program folder in order to play avc1/aac streams applying this will break another one: https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1292586 so there is no way to apply it directly, may require rewriting the whole thing.

  11. It's a DLL resource file in C:\Windows\Branding. you can use ResourceHacker to edit that to be whatever you want as long as it fits the same size.

  12. Even portable soft can mess with your firewall and other system settings if you are careless -particularly with software whose source is not open to scrutiny.

  13. Just uploaded new AF build because I'm going to merge `media-works` branch back to master. Before this, I hope people can test if old media-related bugs (such as process can't terminate after audio/video had been played, etc.) are not coming out again.

  16. Hi , they are quite new for me too and far more better for cooking , but what I meant is ancient for modern gamers and absolutely of no use for them (no DX11.1 , no DX12), too weak even for watching new BluRay disks . They only support blurays from 2007. And their kepler architecture is 10 years old , grab them while you can , it's the last tech that is able to support win2000 !

  17. "hiya" is a form of greeting , mostly used by the British peasants , not trying to offend anyone , just my personal observation . I've never seen any British person with a good education who uses it . It's a telemetry function , usually at it's first launch , hence the name : hiya.browser.360.cn Of course , again and again , I'm seeing that super duper russian hackers left the telemetry untouched. The question is why , deliberately or just due to their incompetence ? Host Name: puv.tt.browser.360.cn is a well known server that needs to be blocked , also. Again, I warn everyone , do not use chino-russian "things" .

  18. With the update to make the network icon take you straight to the network settings I now have no way of easily accessing Quick Settings (I use EarTrumpet so have the stock volume icon disabled). It would be nice had a way to access it such as with the cog button that appears when you use other means to revert to the Windows 10 taskbar (such as ExplorerPatcher).

  19. We really don't need the anti-Russian rhetoric, folks. This is an international community. Yes, Russia is in the "Top 10" of hackers around the globe - so is China, so is the USA, so is Turkey, so is Poland, so is Brazil, so is India, so is Germany, blah blah blah...

  20. Now well wait until Microsoft will release Windows 12 and start hype it like crazy how it will revolutionize computing forever and is way better than Windows 11 . Then soon after it they will release windows 13 that will be unlucky release resulting MS go bankrupt because it requires quantum computer (that is only to load desktop that will still lag) that are not consumer market and google and others who got one refuses touch MS software on supercomputer . I am afraid Microsoft will jump to rapid release bandwagon and start bumping Windows version way Apple and Google does with IOS/Macos/ChromeOS/Android. F-91W is still best watch ever. It is dirt cheap and does what most new watches fails to, show me what time is it
