  1. How ironic! I'm not a YouTube fan but YouTube comes up ALL THE TIME on the browser threads. I always use The Red Green Show whenever testing YouTube. I just finished "The Order" on Netflix only to be disappointed to discover it was dropped after only two seasons. Prior to that was "The Queen's Gambit" - a female orphan growing up in the 50's and rises to defeat the Soviet-Russian world chess champion in an era where the Russians dominated the chess world. I'm now watching "The Irregulars" on Netflix and the 1978 to 1983 sitcom "Taxi" (Danny DeVito, Tony Danza, Christopher Lloyd, Judd Hirsch, Andy Kaufman, Marilu Henner) on Hulu.

  2. Speaking of OT discussions, did you ever solve the VLC problem you mentioned above on March 22? It works fine on a Vista 6.0.6002 x86 physical system, which obviously doesn’t help you at all. If “upgrading” to build 6003 per se broke VLC, it shouldn’t have taken two years for someone at MSFN to notice that, so your VMWare theory seems better. I’m expecting a new VLC version to be released very soon, and another theory comes to mind: Is it possible that you don’t have Platform Update for Windows Vista installed? You may want to search Installed Updates for KB960362, KB971512, KB971513, KB971514 and KB2117917. (They should be available from Microsoft Update Catalog or greenhillmaniac’s repository.) Version compatibility summary at VideoLAN wiki remarks, “It is highly recommended to install the Platform Update.” The changelog for VLC 3.0.0 at GitHub was somewhat more adamant: “Windows Vista (all versions) without Platform Upgrade is not supported.”

  4. here they stopped use of landlines by increasing price of contract to ridiciliously high compared gsm prices then stopped selling landlines with excuse nobody wants use. Sure nobody does when it was ridiously high priced to push cell phones. So there is no option. I here. I chose less evil option. Older early 2000 GSM mobile phones (got few nokia, siemens and samsung ones). In finland we got good GSM coverage, last time had call dropping 12 years ago. I miss landline as option. all my cellphones from late1990/early 2000 have survived and still operated. Few of them needed fresh battery after been sitting forever in closet. Back in day cell phones were built to last too but one point they started reduce body/build quality and blocking repairs. All I need to take apart my 6600 is needle. Not all cell phones are total garbage and breaking. Most just think cell phone as iPhone or other non locked down device not oldschool one. If they ever drop GSM I stop using phones. Not going to modern smartphone in any case.
