  1. I'm glad to help. Actually, it's not my solution , @Dixel taught me how to replace files and fool the programs .

  2. No , some file from this exact program . It is actually the main exe you need to try , if that empty file didn't work. Why ? Because of signatures. Still waiting for my like

  3. So where's my like then ? xD , btw , you may also wanna try to replace it with some other exe files , the main exe , for example.

  4. Why do you need reporter ?! Create an empty file reporter.exe and replace with it.

  5. Please respect other members , haven't you read that poor guy is tortured with vibrating ? Extensions are working and not everyone needs autoupdate . And we don't need extensions in other languages. So they are working for us (98-99% of folks). And the second lies about Opera Ablocker , read what @Win10-Hater wrote. I didn't read your huge sheet after these two.

  6. I cannot really express how angry am I. lets hope that extended kernel 32bit will be here soon. https://prnt.sc/w2viz0 You can fake your os version to minecraft launcher via application verifier. New launcher will download with this result: https://prnt.sc/w2vmjy

  7. The war against Windows 10 is going on and Vista is slowly winning (with kernelex in development) but with newer, more powerful hardware being developed, Vista compatible hardware (especially hardware from 2005-2008) is slowly getting obsolete. Still, I plan on using Vista until at least 2023. Vista holdouts: you can share your plans of using Vista in 2021 and beyond here.

  8. I recently built a new pc based on intel's z490 platform with an i7-10700k, and wanted to see how well 2k would work on it. This is the result. Functional: AHCI USB3 Non-Functional LAN Audio (didn't test much so it might work) ACPI Hyperthreading

  9. As discussed on the previous page (163), XP users may have to use 360 Extreme Explorer browser for rutube. RainyShadow also reported addon problems with latest NM 27 on the previous page. Perhaps the details he provided will help roytam1 to find the problem.

  10. Looks like LibreOffice 6.x series works: But 7.x causes a VC++ runtime error right now. Just drop "LaunchCondition" from MSI before installing using Orca.

  11. Gotta get rid of all unneded files first , remove all junk related to gathering info , updaters , etc (try to replace with blanks) . I do not use it myself (and never will) , but all those modern programmes are quite similar , esp. the ones that built on chrome , so it's just a suggestion.

  13. I'm starting to understand that I'll never win the battle against windows 10. Since iTunes ended support, everything is kinda all over the place for me. For how long do you think will at least browsers and steam support Windows 7/8 ? also Nvidia can end the support soon. I'm fully aware that no-one except you guys here cares about older operating systems and it is really sad People are happy with telemetry filled, ugly looking, unreliable crapdows 10. I think 2021 will be the last year I'll be able to enjoy 8.1 before downgrading to windows 10 Discord is already complaining about screen share ("For the best experience, Please upgrade to windows 10").

  14. Alright that's it! Please stop arguing about operating system that you're not even using! Before you post something, try the os in a vm with the extended kernel. Otherwise don't tell lies like @D.Draker already pointed out.

  16. Guys please. this topic was not originally vista vs 7 and 8 so stop arguing. it is your choice what os are you willing to use. Thank you

  17. What do you mean by hidden ? It's right at the top of the main settings . Any custom list can be added . Also it has a dark mode (night) theme extension built in.

  18. Where is the dislike button ? I stopped reading right after "opera .... unusable because of adblocker" . Opera has buit-in adblocker , if you *really* tested , you should've noticed. I call @Win10-Hater for help . I won't read any further.

  19. Let's see if I can use one of my (in)famous book comparison. There is a book of - say - 100 pages total, on which first page (page at offset 0) there is an index, like this: if you go to page 90 you find a page: So you have: total 100 pages, Now, this exact same book could be instead be made as follows, on 1st page (page at offset 0): if you go to page 90 you find a page: It is clear that the contents, in both cases, is in the same place, i.e. Chapter 1 on pages 1-89 and Appendix A on pages 91-99, the only difference is that they are indexed differently. Now, this same book printed by Microsoft Press in 2005 would be: and on page 153: which can as well be re-indexed as: (BTW in the second edition, pubished in 2007, Microsoft Press would insert 2047 Blank pages instead of 62) Hope this clears a bit more the matter. jaclaz

  20. It's not that bad for me either on the more modern computer but for older ones the previous layout was much faster and more responsive. It's still there but google is making it practically impossible to use it.

  21. Hi ; I tested this on latest Serpent v52.9.0 (2020-12-25) (32-bit), which belongs in the family of UXP (platform) browsers (like NM28 & Iceape-uxp); the error in the web console is: SyntaxError: invalid regexp group The error is generated on the bulky javascript blob they're sending to initialise their embedded web player: https://rutube.ru/player/player.js Searching for more details wrt said error, one finds it's related to the "lookbehind regexp" feature; in Mozilla type browsers, this was first tracked in Bugzilla #1225665 5 years ago... That issue stagnated for long and was only "fixed" last May, when Bugzilla #1634135 landed in Firefox 78 (release & ESR branches), in essence when a fully re-authored regexp engine was merged-in... Indeed, when I tried your test page in FxESR 68.12.0 (on Win7 SP1) it failed, but latest Firefox 84.0.1 was able to load the rutube.ru player... As for the UXP platform, implementation of regexp lookbehind is still very ... behind (pun intended): https://repo.palemoon.org/MoonchildProductions/UXP/issues?type=all&state=open&labels=&milestone=0&assignee=0&q=lookbehind Latest of the three, UXP issue #1675, is, in fact, bounty material... In Chromium land, the feature was first implemented in Chrome 62 (FTR, Chrome 49 ends up displaying an empty grey page) ... TL;DR : Under Windows XP, viable option to use rutube.ru in a browser is to use a flavour of the Chinese-made 360 Extreme Explorer, v11 -> Chromium 69 based (seen below): v12 -> Chromium 78 based (as posted by @we3fan ) v13 -> Chromium 86 based... I don't know whether this is actually considered as a solution by you, under XP, but latest youtube-dl does support rutube.ru: youtube-dl -F "https://rutube.ru/video/102923ff44b823058b195734393ab6e4/" => [rutube] 102923ff44b823058b195734393ab6e4: Downloading video JSON [rutube] 102923ff44b823058b195734393ab6e4: Downloading options JSON [rutube] 102923ff44b823058b195734393ab6e4: Downloading f4m manifest [rutube] 102923ff44b823058b195734393ab6e4: Downloading f4m manifest [rutube] 102923ff44b823058b195734393ab6e4: Downloading f4m manifest [rutube] 102923ff44b823058b195734393ab6e4: Downloading m3u8 information [info] Available formats for 102923ff44b823058b195734393ab6e4: format code extension resolution note default-765 flv 768x432 765k m3u8-765 mp4 768x432 765k , avc1.42c01e, mp4a.40.2 default-1364 flv 1024x576 1364k m3u8-1364 mp4 1024x576 1364k , avc1.4d401f, mp4a.40.2 (best) That way, you can pipe the stream (or download it first) to a WinXP compatible media player ... 22. XP is NT 5.1, Vista is NT 6.0, so there are big differences in many places I'm afraid, under the bonnet as well as in the GUI.

  26. Vista was, is and will be good os. Your problems had to be driver related. though I would not replace 8.1 with vista I don’t see why some could not. The extended kernel project is miracle and it is secure as much as windows 7 since you know, no updates too :p

  29. Well this is not as easy as you may think. Not only am I iTunes subscriber, I own iPhone 12 and iPad, and synchronization only works through iTunes. Well game developers are only seeing dx 12 for some unknown reason. They ONLY really care about Windows 10. I guess screw anyone using 7/8 or linux and MAC? Amd gpus no longer works stable enough on windows 8.1. I've tested rx 570 and vega 56 and browser acceleration did not work and I got some gpu hangs and driver crashes. It uses wddm 1.1 so... Until they fix their s***, windows 10 is unusable for me and I'll try to learn linux (altough I don't like many things on linux)

  30. Actually, I had Linux in a VM pretty recently with KDE and I got pretty far in getting it to look like Windows Aero. Transparency effects and everything. Now, I didn't get all the way, truthfully, but KDE is ridiculously customizable, so in that regard, there's a learning curve. Also, I wasn't trying hard at all either since this was just a VM install I was screwing around with.

  31. it would be the same on an x64 system. The only thing that really changes on x64 is that x86 components come under a "Wow6432Node" key.

  32. If you really want to create your own Linux distro, there's Linux From Scratch to help you get started with that. However, I wouldn't recommend doing that unless you have almost professional level Linux experience. If you're new, or even have a moderate knowledge of Linux, LFS isn't worth it. You'll need to be your own package maintainer and system admin, and it will be very hard to find support if you have trouble. What I do recommend for extreme customizability is Arch Linux. With Arch, you install Linux manually from the ground up, and learn a lot in the process. You can install whatever you want and customize everything to your liking. You don't need to build packages from source, unless you use AUR, and that's done automatically done via some scripts. Arch also has a large user base, so you can get help easily.
