Leaderboard

Have you followed the advice of this poster?: Sure it's on Haswell, but Skylake's like one generation higher (if you don't count Broadwell). EDIT: Just checked - that guy has tested it on x86 Vista, which is already confirmed working, so not sure how things may be with Vista x64.

Someone may have mentioned this before, but Windows Vista seems to run fine with Haswell if it is installed on another computer and then the hard drive is moved to a Haswell system. I tried this with Windows Vista 32-bit (but it should work with any version) and had no problems arise. I didn't install drivers or do any extensive testing but it seemed to be fine. This was with a Q87 motherboard and an i7-4790 CPU. I do plan on setting up the OS properly in the future, so I'll see if anything changes.
