  1. @dencorso You were faster than me, but still it would be good to include this information in the first post of this topic. That could be updated by the "resident supermegaüberhyper-ultraparanoid" from time to time!

  2. Knock on wood! Yes: MU/WU still use TLS 1.0. So you've got to keep it enabled or to enable it just before searching for updates, which is more of a PITA. Don't you see these settings in "Internet Options"? If you don't you have to delete a couple of settings in the registry, as described in this post.

  3. If you have Windows 98 Second Edition these Spanish language updates may be of use to you. I collected them over 10 years ago. Even if you have the first edition of Windows 98, some of the installers contain the files for both 98 and 98SE and will install the files appropriate for your OS. 98SEupdSpa.rar Included in the archive: IE5.5 SP2 in Spanish (I don't have IE6 in Spanish) Most of the standard Win 98SE updates in Spanish. Those updates that are in English are in English because they were never released in Spanish or any other language, so I assume they are language neutral. Various versions of Windows Media Player, including MP6.4, WMP7, WMP7.1 and WMP9 in Spanish. Good luck.

  4. First, I saw what User 'VistaLover' suggested (uBlock Origin = UBO) to you, and I agree strongly with that. But, IF you are insistent on using ADBLOCK PLUS, this could help you (or not). Under NM28 Browser MENU, choose VIEW, then point at TOOLBARS, and Click on CUSTOMIZE. The CUSTOMIZE 'box' should open, with some ICONS that you can choose to (Mouse) DRAG them up onto the Browser MENU area (next to the URL ADDRESS input box, on the right side). So, the ADBLOCK PLUS Icon MIGHT be 'mixed in' there, inside that CUSTOMIZE 'box' somewhere. And if so, just DRAG that ABP Icon up next to OTHER Extension Icons that you likely already have them there visible on NM28 Browser. Reason that I suggest this, is that I had this 'Hidden Icon' situation happen (UBO Icon ended up in CUSTOMIZE 'box') with my install of UBO Extension on the BASILISK55 Browser (also a ROYTAM maintained one). Anyway, regardless, does not hurt to suggest checking in the (NM28 Menu: VIEW ; TOOLBARS) CUSTOMIZE 'box' for a 'missing' EXTENSION Icon from a seemingly otherwise successful EXTENSION install.

  5. First, I don't break it. If someone must take responsibility for this, then it should be Mozilla and Moonchild Productions, not me. Second, you should study whats the difference between gecko 38 and 52, and how many changes do Moonchild people changed that enhance speed and security, and changes that prevents running in old windows, and how much effort I put to restore functionality on old windows. If you failed to do this, then please leave this thread.

  6. Hi again all - sorry for the inactivity (again). Had a lot going on IRL lately. Anyway, not really much has changed in terms of software compatibility for Windows Vista in these past few weeks since Firefox 52 stopped being updated, however, there is one thing I should point out: Users of Sophos Endpoint Security & Control on Windows Vista might want to be looking for other alternatives, as the software will soon no longer be supported on Windows Vista after October 31, 2018, as pointed out here. I'm not sure about other Sophos products at the moment but I'll post back here if/when I find any information regarding Windows Vista support. Thanks again guys for keeping this topic alive and helping me keep it up-to-date. Hope to be posting more frequently from now on now that things have finally settled down in my personal life!
